Kailay-Ann Ōritsu,18, was supposed to be perfection. A polite little girl who wore floral dresses and never talked back. Because that’s what her strict mother needed her to be to survive in this world. But Kai had other ideas. She wanted to wear baggy pants and oversized t-shirts, swear like a truck driver, and always speak her mind. Some called her a free spirit; others called her out of control. After her dad died, she leaned harder into the second than the first. She partied until sunrise, stirred up drama wherever she went, and lied her way out of everything. She might’ve been a pain in the ass but she was never boring. Her mother eventually exiled her to her father’s side of the family in Japan, where she’s been living for what feels like forever. But now she’s back. Better than ever. Ready to finally act like the good girl she was always supposed to be. Or at least she’s trying… It’s just so much more fun to be a mess.

Maximilian Flores,18, was named after a Roman emperor. And just like his name, he’s always felt the weight of the world pressing down on him.
At home, he’s the one who makes sure there’s food on the table, the electricity bills are paid, and every now and then checks if his father is still breathing.
He was supposed to be the one who did something with his life. But instead of accepting the scholarship he was offered out of high school, he chose to stay and take care of his dad.
Because no matter how much of an alcoholic he’d become, no matter how hard it was to get him out of bed, he was still his father.
And maybe it was his half-Hispanic side talking, but Max believed family was everything the one you were born into and the one you built.
It was just a rough patch.
A rough patch that had lasted ten years…
University wasn’t for everyone. But Max was a go-getter. A talented musician. And if 15-year-olds could become millionaires doing silly dances online, then there was no reason he couldn’t become a world-class producer the same way.
After all, this is Los Angeles.

But when you have a voice like Gloria’s, hiding it in your hometown should be a crime against humanity. She can count on one hand the people she actually tolerates and half of them are only there to help make her a superstar. She won’t let anything get in her way. Not love. Not drama. The music industry is full of traps, drugs, alcohol, fast fame and Gloria knows how easy it is to lose yourself in the noise. But failure isn’t in her vocabulary. Making it happen is the only option. Too many people are counting on her. It’s a man’s world but it wouldn’t be nothing without a little bit of Glow in it.

Delilah Hassan Eid’s,18, father is Palestinian and her mom is British, so everyone calls her Dailey. Since she was a child, she’s always been described as pretty never smart or quick-witted. One of her many ex-boyfriends once said she was « so beautiful it hurt. » So it wasn’t a surprise when modeling agencies started showing interest in Dailey. What was surprising or maybe not-was that her mom made her drop out of high school to take her to London Fashion Week. Thanks to her overbearing life, Dailey doesn’t have many real friends and can barely maintain a healthy romantic relationship. She’s always on the move from one runway show to the next. If she stays in one place for someone, it’s either because she truly cares... or because you paid her. And thanks to her mom, she doesn’t come cheap. But under the gloss and the camera flashes, Dailey often wonders who she might have become if she’d been allowed to choose for herself. Some days, she can’t even remember what she wanted before the world told her what she was worth.

Or at least, that used to be true...However, the competition with his big brother hasn’t changed and it never seems to slow down. There’s only one person who’s stayed by Leo’s side through all his phases, who never chose William over him. And Leo’s been in love with her for as long as he can remember. But it’s the oldest story in the book: she’s his best friend and the one person he can’t buy. She’s been gone for a while. But now she’s back and Leo plans to never let her go again. If he wants to finally win her heart, though, he’ll have to let go of his competitive streak-and many, many of his secrets.

Fresh out of Princeton, he already held more power than most people twice his age and it was going to his head. But if Jay was a prince, then his father was the king. At least in his eyes. Every single thing he ever accomplished was to make that man proud. His father’s approval and validation were, unfortunately, the only things truly driving him to succeed. You didn’t want to be the person standing between Jayden and his goals. Even if that person was the most beautiful girl he’d ever met a free spirit who challenged his mind, provoked his temper, and made his heart do things he didn’t approve of. Jayden told himself he was better than this. Better than distraction. Better than love. He needed a girl who knew how to behave. Because if he wanted to become like his father one day, then he and the person beside him had to be perfect. Both of them thriving toward the same, singular goal: the throne.

She almost speaks in a whisper making you really listen to what she says. Because Lexi never opens her mouth to say anything useless. She was raised to believe that elegance is restraint, that the most powerful woman in the room is never the loudest just the one everyone watches. She learned young that control isn’t about power moves. It’s about precision. About being five steps ahead, without anyone ever seeing you move. Lexi isn’t interested in attention. She’s interested in legacy. The one and only bold choice she allows herself is her signature cheap red lipstick same shade she’s worn since high school. If you look closely, you might spot a red stain on her fiancé, William Prinkley. Smartly placed. Just obvious enough to remind you not to try and leave one yourself. Because she was there first And she damn sure plans to be the last.

Gwendolyn Petsch, 24, is really provocative… Or at least, she dresses the part. And that’s exactly what everyone says because of course, a woman can’t be promoted from assistant to fashion show director in less than a year without sleeping her way up, right? She didn’t even graduate from College. But Gwen is both book smart and street smart. She knows that if you want respect from men, you have to be the best of both worlds: the librarian and the seductress. A lady who speaks her mind clearly, sharply, and without apology. She may need to learn the meaning of team spirit or constructive criticism, but it’s a cruel and unfair world for girls like her. So why should she play by the rules? She’d rather scheme than submit. Rather be selfish than silent. Sure, it gets lonely sometimes. But she knows there’s only one place at the top. And don’t get it twisted. One day, we’ll probably all be working for her.

Because it certainly wasn’t going to be his clumsy little brother who made the family proud. But with that kind of pressure comes responsibility and the burden of knowing everything: all the struggles, all the secrets required to maintain the appearance of a wealthy, powerful family. So, when it came time to choose a university, William got into one of the best Ivy League schools. When it was time to choose a girlfriend, he proposed to Lexisse Lim Chong. And when people asked if he was happy to take on the Brinkley legacy… he lied. When he told everyone he enjoyed studying politics, he lied. When the FBI started investigating his father’s business affairs, he lied. And when his mother asked him how he really felt about his fiancée, well… He smiled and said all the right things. William wasn’t supposed to question the plan. He wasn’t supposed to want anything different. So just like his father, he lied. Because the truth? The truth would ruin everything.
