SHELL: A2 Animated Short
Project Overview
My A2 Portfolio animated short that I need voice actors for! It’s a partially surrealist 2D animation set in Ireland and following two girls who are both best friends, from childhood to adolescence to adulthood as they drift apart, tying in Irish folklore. Cue selkie and ocean metaphors!
The project NEEDS to be completed by April 2025, but I’ll need the lines recorded far, far before that. I’ll put separate roles for their childhood and late-teen versions, but really I can cast the same VAs for both depending on how it goes.

LEAD ROLE
An 18 year old girl trying to work through the supernatural disappearance of her childhood best friend. She’s very critical, no-nonsense and objective — her favourite subject is chemistry and she loves long walks on the sea shore to clear her head. She’s very close with her mother, but her dad is absent.

I guess… there’s no point trying to drown myself to follow her into the ocean. Especially if she doesn’t want me to follow.
Elizabeth’s childhood best friend, an imaginative, interesting, aloof girl turned selkie who finally abandoned her to the sea after slowly becoming more infatuated with it, and after traumatic events on land swirled her into her final decision.
