Sector F
Project Overview
Okay, real quick update, only just realised I could actually edit this haha, anywho, I'll add a comment that goes into more detail so I don'tt take away from the main actual description thing.
Update #2: Oh crud guys I forgor to listen to the submissions, hold on, I'm gonna do it now
Update #3: heyyyy guys, just another extension, as we're still looking for some animators and voice roles!
Hey guys, How's it going?
(Hopefully well)
Alright then, let's get down to business. Basically, for the past few months, I have been coming up with this surreal sci-fi animated series called Sector: F (Or something like that, it hasn't exactly been hammered down yet.) Basically, it will follow the life of Iris, a philosophy student that's life had been in decline. As she is about to end it all, she is sedated, and then boom bang pow, magically wakes up in the institution, with some interesting coworkers and a surprisingly glitchy environment, what could possibly go wrong? Vibes wise, I'm thinking kind of a blend of Don't hug me I'm scared, The Amazing Digital Circus and Infinity Train.
This is my first time ever making a casting call, so I apologise in advance for any faults or errors that may occur within the process. Any and all help/criticism is graciously accepted.
Ambitious as it is, in my head the show will have around 2 seasons, with roughly 30ish episodes in total, though I'll be extremely happy if I get so much as the pilot episode finished! For the pilot, I expect casting to be like, around a month-ish. by then, I assume the script will have been finished, or at least nearing completion, and then like the actual animation can begin! I prefer MP3 and WAV Files where possible, and the deadline for auditions will probably be around the end of august or start of September. That should be most things I beleive? Don't worry if you don't have a demo reel, I'm open to voice actors of all skill levels.
Other notes:
This will be a deferred payment project—I want to compensate voice actors for their work, but since I'm still school aged, I can't pay upfront. If the show does receive monetisation, I'm happy to delegate a percentage or flat number of the show's revenue!
Concept art is currently in progress, but I’ll provide full character descriptions and demo lines. You don't need to use the demo line; they're kind of just suggestions on things I think the character would say.
Episode 1 will be around 20-25 minutes, and is already partially scripted
Everything will be released on YouTube with proper credits. You’ll be credited by (user)name with a link of your choice (I'm flexible on this, if you'd like to be credited differently, that's completely fine!)
Recording at home is totally fine—as long as your audio is clear and free of major background noise
If you have any questions or want to audition, just message me here on CCC, and I'll respond as soon as possible. I'm excited to work with and meet you all! Have a lovely day :)

Iris is the lead role of this silly little project. She’s tethered to memories she doesn’t entirely trust—each pinned to her body like mementos of both beauty and pain. Soft-spoken and deeply empathetic, Iris still stays reserved and skeptical of everything around her. The newest employee in a system built on forgetting, Iris looks like a humanoid scrapbook—fragmented, delicate, and adorned in feathers, beads, and darkened photos that whisper who she used to be.
Unlike her coworkers, Iris remembers everything each night. This gift—or curse—leads her to slowly unravel the world she’s stepped into. As she forms unexpected bonds with her quirky coworkers, she begins her journey toward reclamation: of memory, identity, and emotional truth. Her arc explores what it means to decide what to remember, what to release, and how love can reshape even the most painful of memories.

(Shocked, Inquisitive, kind of desperate) "My voice. Did you hear it stutter? Like I wasn't quite real?"
(Explosive fury slowly shifting sort of into a quiet resentment) "You don't get to (ruin/destroy/etc, whatever you think will flow) me. I was already broken once."
(Confident, scathing, almost demanding, and very much tired of everything)"Go ahead, stitch me into another one of your lies, at least then I'd be part of the story."
Okkk, so the person I had unfortunately won't be able to play this role, and so I'm going to need to find someone else for it unfortunately. Nonetheless, it's a new character for you guys to try out for so uh, yay I guess! Anyway, ariana is a balloon woman, with a fairly high-pitched voice, as, you know, balloon and whatnot. She is very much a performatively happy, people pleaser sort of character, and her arc will focus quite a lot on just being happy with oneself. For their uniform gimmick (Which I'm not sure if is in every characters description ripp, mb guys), her uniform doesn't fit her regularly slender, sort of smooth and slipper balloony body, so she has to fold herself into a balloon animal every morning, literally changing her appearance to conform to societal standards and expectations. She loves to laugh and makes jokes, but more importantly loves to see others happy, and so it wrecks her whenever people don't laugh at her jokes or don't enjoy her games etc.I don't know how to explain it in words, but basically that idea.

(Cheerful and high-pitched, with some desperation showing near the end) "And voila! Now then, for my next trick, I, will turn myself into a giraffe! Or maybe a swan, or just whatever makes you smile really!"
(Ok ok, like right on the cusp of tears, while trying to maintain upbeat and chipper, but I want kind of like a very empty sort of sound when she says "Me.") "T-that's ok, n-not everyone likes balloons! Or, jokes or... me. But that's ok! Everyone has their own opinions! I'll just... fold myself into something a little smaller tomorrow."
(Start gentle and upbeat, very nurturing and kind, but very much projecting, if that makes sense. Like, the moment before she says "I get it" should be a moment of slight personal recognition, before what feels like a desperate plea for connection) "Hey, don’t be sad, okay? You’re doing amazing. Really. I mean, look at you—you’re still here, you're still *you* and that’s... that’s something. And if you ever feel like folding up and disappearing, well... I get it. I really do. "
Radley, our second main/supporting character of the cast! (The first one is already taken, and Iris is our protag, so honestly, I'm not too sure, Radley is just a main character, but not THE main character iykwim). Radley is composed of a whole bunch of electronic household appliances, think an old box computer for a head, and most importantly a boombox for a chest. Every morning, she has to remove her "voice" tape, and so only repeats what others have already said. Radley is caring and empathetic, though they have trouble speaking up for themself. Their arc focuses more on the reclamation of ones voice and opinion, as well as the ability to make themself heard. (Important note, I plan on having Radley begin to repeat the voices of previously deleted members of the team before being deleted herself, which will be somewhere around halfish way through? Essentially, she will basically die. She will still have a few other lines and stuff, but yeah, I just thought I'd let you know this is the smallest role out of the main cast)

(Empty, Mindless, Repetitive) "Good Morning Iris, Good Morning River, Good Morning Echoe, etc for all of the other characters."
(Empathetic, somewhat different voice with a few elements of Radley's personal voice poking through) "It's ok, you're allowed to feel broken sometimes. Someone told me that once, Someone nice, I think."
Echoe is yet another part of our wonderful cast, being one of the main 7. He is a littttttllle bit insane, just like a teensy bit. This is because he is made out of chalk! And when one day he noticed that he forgot everything every night, he began to write down the events of the previous day underneath his bed. Currently, about 80% of his beds under space is filled, and he sleeps in a king sized, so he remembers quite a chunk. He insists on naming everything Greg all the time, and will have some extremely emotional moments, so yeah. Like, I want them to be absolutely heartbreaking, so uh, if you can do this, great job! You have a one-way ticket to probably getting this spot! Also, He is gay, so if you aren't comfortable with that, then just don't audition for him, simple as that! Hmm, anything else? Oh yeah, his arc focuses on self-expression, being unapologetically you etc etc. but he does kind of already do that anyway, so uhhhhhhh, yeah!

(Insane, not quite "There There" if you know what I mean) "Oh! And this one can be Greg, but uh, don't tell Greg #22 about it, (whispering) He might get jealous!."
(Overtly and Unnecessarily emotional) "Greg! Nooooo, I can't lose you again..."
(Genuine Sadness and disdain) "I-I don't know anymore... What do I do, what do we do, what can we do?"
Leo is what, the fourth or fifth member of the cast? Anyway, let's get straight into it! Leo is pansexual, and I do want him to get into a relationship with Echoe, sorry if that's not your thing! Any who, Leo is just a guy who is made out of fire. Obviously, this burns all of his clothes all the time, and so he has to freeze himself every morning, which makes him appear more as a human ice sculpture if that makes sense. As his emotions rise, his inner flame flares up and starts to melt the ice around him, representing him feeling vulnerable and exposed. He's quiet and reserved and tries not to interact with too many people. This is because he is secretly a mole, and working for the bad guys, yay! Now, yes, this does mean that he's going to do some not great things to the cast, but he'll have a redemption arc trussst me. But yeah, his arc focuses around expressing your emotions, and allowing your true self to flourish and show, things like that.

(Detached and bitter, the evenness of his voice affected by a slight tension.) "It's just easier when all they see is the ice. The ice doesn't ask questions, the ice doesn't tremble in cowardice, it doesn't burn everything it touches! It just... Doesn't."
(Defensive, almost pleading. His tone is low, his breath a little shaky, yet still trying to stay composed) "Please, don’t come closer. You won’t like who I am when the ice cracks."
(Explosive, frustrated, angry, betrayed yet saddened and remorseful all at the same time) "Look, I'm sorry I lied, ok? I lied because I thought that the truth behind... well, everything was too much, that it would burn too bright for me, for anyone! Now I see I was sorely mistaken."
Alright, almost done! River was a barber previously, before joining the institution. Now, he is like, made of mirrors and stuff. He's a little sensitive and soft spoken, and is also best friends with Radley, being one of the only people that's actually heard Radleys real voice. They're extremely empathetic and help people see their real selves extremely easily. River is of course happy to help, though in constantly reflecting others, they begin to lose sight of themselves. Their arc focuses on seeing themself for who they are, not what others perceive. I'm not sure if I want them to be male or female, i know I referred to them as male beforehand, but feel free to try out regardless. Same goes for Radley, I haven't quite decided yet!

(Gentle, reassuring. Voice soft but steady, all accompanied with a smile.) "It's ok! You know, you don’t have to pretend with me. I see you. Even the parts you’re trying to hide."
(Bittersweet nostalgia, with a soft chuckle, followed by a short melancholic silence, like they're not sure whether to cry or laugh.) "It's kind of funny, y'know? I actually used to cut hair! I saw reflections all the time, and now! .... I am one."
(Frustrated vulnerability, voice cracking slightly. They aren't angry, they're lost.) "I-I don't even know what I look like anymore. Every time I go to see myself it's always just... someone else staring back."
Alright, this is the final member of the main cast! Well, kind of. They are the seventh member of Team F. There is another one, Ariana, but I already have a voice actor for her. I might actually put her up anyway though, just in case my friend isn't able to do it. Anyway, Marnie is a robot, and because I also make video games, my first thought with their character was scripts. Essentially, every morning they have to eat a script, the determines everything that will happen throughout the day, and exactly how Marnie has to respond. What Marnie has to think and feel and say are all predetermined by their daily script. Marnie has very little control over this, though a little later in the show, I want the scripts to get things wrong, even if only subtly at first. For example, Let's say one night, before their script ends, it tells them river will enter the room and ask Marnie how they were going. And so, when Marnie hears the door open, they pre-emptively say "Hello River!", only for it to actually be Iris, and not river! This could possibly be the consequence of them subtly altering the script earlier in the day as well. This led Marnie to improv it, something they aren't used to at all. I want their arc to focus on a recognition of oneself, taking control of their own life, doing what they want to do, not what other have set for them.

(Bright, Robotic Cheerfulness, though with a warm undertone, like they genuinely are trying to feel happy, even if it's scripted.) "Today is a good day. I will smile lots today and meet with all of my friends! Hello River! Hello Iris! Hello Leo! Hello Radley! Hello Ariana! Hello Echoe!"
(Soft, subdued delivery. hesitate before "sadness" as if they don't really feel it.) "I am currently experiencing... sadness? It will last around 1 minute and 17 seconds, please, do not approach me during this time."
(Start with confident anticipation, then shift into confusion and recalibration. The pause after “River” should feel like a system hiccup. The rest is hesitant, like they’re guessing what to say next.) "Hello River!" *Pause* "Oh, Hello Iris. Would you like to... sit down?"
Wait, is putting romance in weird? Ah well, it's happening anyway. Basically, he's based off of a broken compass, and he's your typical bad boy. Now, unlike all of the previous members of the main cast, Ash is from a different team. This means the only times they ever meet with the main cast is during breakfast, where they all meet in the cafeteria, and at dinner time sometimes, on like special occasions. However, I want there to be a few moments where they will meet up in the cafeteria together, after hours. Y'know, just cute little stuff, building their relationship together and stuff. He's very contrarian, but subtle about it, because he knows that nothing good will come if they all begin to rebel. Oh right, also, he remembers about as much as other people each night, so just his name, and his relationships with other people, friendship, hate, etc etc. Obviously he remembers some of himself, it's just most of the major events of the previous day is completely forgotten. But yeah, he's been in the institution for years now, and has seen many coworkers come and go. Despite his resentment, and his outwards aggression, he too is scared of "Reassignment", no matter how little he admits it. So he plays it off with witty remarks and a snarky sort of attitude. He is, of course, a softie at heart, because how couldn't he be? and uh yeah, his arc is really just about acceptance of this frankly not great situation, but he also learns to love again, and be vulnerable, get close to people etc.

(Snarky and satirical on the outside, masking a genuine fear underneath.) "Look, if I play nicely and follow all the blinking lights they set out for me, maybe, I won't get reassigned, maybe, I'll get a sticker instead, or who knows, maybe I'll get a lobotomy o-or a birthday cake!" (mutters to himself) "God this place is stupid."
(Cold, Biting and Defensive) "You think just because you smile and blindly follow orders, you're better than the rest of us? Newsflash dumbass, they'll erase you just as fast."
(Quiet, sincere, almost hesitant. Like he's finally breaking down his walls.) *Chuckle, followed by a short sigh*"You know, I noticed recently, you're always sitting towards the exit of a room, like you're ready to leave the second it gets a little too real. I get it. I'd do it too, but... if you ever decide to stay, I'd like to be part of the reason why."
Ok, this is one of the antagonists, kind of. Just an overwhelmingly, always positive, advertisement kind of voice! Like she's just so happy about her brand-new thermo-mix that you can buy for 50% off right now! But yeah, basically she is a constant, almost mysterious voice that will instruct the cast at the beginning and end of each day, amidst other things. She needs to be positive and commanding, but like, extremely positive to the point it's a little eerie.

(More of a cheerful farewell this time) "And that's a wrap on another wonderous day! You've all made remarkable progress towards being your trues selves! Sleep tight, and remember! Your feelings are *always* appreciated!"
The curator is the main antagonist of this series, being the mastermind behind well... like everything. On the surface he's calm and collected, his presence almost soothing. Unfortunately, he's ugly on the inside. He views human life and emotion as currency, just another way for him to quickly move up in the world. His entire empire is built around turning breakdowns into breakthroughs and then selling it for profit. He is mysterious, calculated, detached, sadistic and also very dark, so like, yakow be prepared for some wild sentences I suppose. I'm not too sure if he'll have any lines in the pilot just yet, but I'll see. This is more a role for the future, assuming it ever goes beyond just a pilot episode.

(Manipulative, kind of soothing?) "Now now my dear, you don't truly believe you're broken, do you? You're just... Unrefined! Let me help you become something more, something... useful."
(Kind of angry, and shocked that someone was able to reveal such a secret, one he'd been monitoring for forever almost.) "I- reassignment is a *gift*. Your body will serve more of a purpose then any of your foolish minds ever could.
Alright, this isn't necessary at all, don't worry, but it would very much help, as I'm new to this so it would help speed up the proccess by quite a margin.
*Say something you think would fit*
Once again, not necessary but greatly appreciated. I'm not the greatest at art but I am very much willing to learn!
*Say something you think would fit*
Ok, so since the script is still in development, apply for this role for either background/small/guest roles, where there will be a small side character that pops onto screen and says some random words for a few second and never comes back ever again, or maybe they occasionally come back, who knows! But then, there are also some other side characters I do plan on having, just haven't figured them out yet. This is open to any and all ages, genders, voice types, etc etc.
