Season Unending

Project Overview

When the Snow Tower lies sundered, kingless, bleeding

The World-Eater wakes, and the Wheel turns upon the Last Dragonborn.

After more then a year of constant conflict, the Imperial forces meet face to face with the Stormcloak rebellion. Erik Thunderscar, the Dragonborn, at the center of it all faces the threat. He is shown the true nature of war.

The Skyrim Civil War is a complex and intriguing topic. Fought over religious freedom, the greater picture in mind, and the leadership of Skyrim. This project centers around the Fulcrum of the conflict, the battle of Whiterun. This is a stand alone fan project that has the potential to turn into more projects, depending on the reception of this one. This project is part action adventure, part poltical commentary and anti war. Taking the side of the Imperials mostly, but an effort will and has been made to explore both sides of the war. With further projects looking to go deeper into the Stormcloak side.

The Project name says it all,

"Do you know the ancient Nord word for war? "Season unending"... so it has proved." - Arngeir

Role assigned to: David Bryson

Erik Thunderscar is the Dragonborn. The player character of the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. In terms of the lore in Skyrim, he is THE hero. In this particular project, he has a name and also will be characterized like General Skywalker in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. A heroic figure, flawed by his passion and his want to save people. His gestures are Noble, his efforts are continuous. He is incredibly bothered by the fighting in Skyrim, seeing it largely as a waste of lives before a showdown with the Thalmor (Eleven supremacists against the Empire.) Act as if you are frustrated, you are trying so hard to achieve your goal of saving as many lives as possible, and the civil war is currently stopping you from that. Skyrim lies bleeding, and you try and try to end the bloodshed as much as possible, but the war rages on and on. Take no pleasure in killing, only seeing it as a means to an end to the war before him. A complex, yet simple man.

  • Must be from the Pale, give me any nord with a sword. You two, like I said, front and center. Rest of you, with me. (Stern an Calm. You want the message to get across, but you see no sense in yelling.)

  • Except when you star death in the eyes for the first time. Watch the spark behind someone's eyes extinquish. The kind of moment shows you that, war isn't just hell, it's a never ending nightmare! (Let the frustration flow here, someone is trying to tell you war is glorious, and it isn't.)

  • On me! (Louder, like you are rallying the troops)

Raxus Aurand is an Auxiliary in the Imperial Legion, he is the perfect soldier. He meets Erik a day before the battle, but through their battles Raxus and Erik will become brothers. He is very patriotic to the Imperial cause, but similar to Erik. He believes the stormcloaks to be flawed more in the fact there is a bigger threat. He doesn't enjoy killing, but it also doesn't bring Raxus pain. He tends to just follow with what the Empire does, a good soldier following orders. Will soon learn that his family will be hit by this war, which will hurt him severely. Largely, Raxus will not only serve as a confident to the Dragonborn, but will also serve as an on the ground example of an Imperial Soldier. Act as if you a patriot to your nation, someone has threatened it's existence and you want to fight for it. You have experiences which would lead you to fight against your own.

  • Many Innocents lost their lives...I was there too. I watched as Ulfrics Militia had anyone who disagreed with him put to the sword. (You are defending your political beleifs.)

  • If you believe all that you....Expressed, to Colonna, if thats what your believe...why fight? (You are eager to learn new perspectives)

  • If any other patrols are in the area, they would have surely heard this. We need to move. Now! (Sense of urgency)

Minor Character, Colonna Aurand is the Foil to Erik. She is sister to Raxus and is firm in her beliefs. Think of her as the co-worker who says heavily charged political things, or the relative who has a loud mouth when it comes to a touchy subject coming up at the dinner table. She is confident, a little egotistical, and a courageous warrior.

  • So this is the famous Dragonborn? Shorter then I expected. (Mocking)

  • Shut the hell up Raxus. You're my brother not my protector. I don't need you to fight my battles. (Frustration)

  • Calm down, its was just a rebel. (Dismissive)
