Project Overview

Thank you for your interest in the Sugar Cube Chorus!


We are a group of nine vocalists plus support staff who sing Japanese covers from the Love Live franchise. After nearly two years in existence, we've produced 35 releases, with more incoming! Please check out some of more recent releases below


We aim to release a video once per month. However, since we release solos, subunit covers and full choruses, there will be flexibility for when your schedule becomes too hectic. 

For this casting call, we are looking for a vocalist whose primary role will be Nico and a secondary role of Chika. Furthermore, we are recruiting additional mixing staff.

The successful applicant will be part of a team of support staff who will compile, edit and mix vocal lines to create the audio ready to be set to animation. You will be expected to provide appropriate feedback to our vocalists when re-takes are needed. A passion for the Love Live franchise is an asset. 

For your audition, please submit a sample of your best mix work - if you completed only a specific part of the audio production process (timing, tuning, mixing, mastering) please indicate that as part of your application. Two auditions are required - a solo mix as well as a chorus mix. We suggest submitting a third chorus audition that is of a different genre than your first.

Character description: "Normally, Nico has quite an abrasive personality, but when she takes on her alternate personality, she becomes a happy, upbeat character who is always smiling, often saying her catchphrase, "Nico Nico Nii!", accompanied with a pose. She usually thinks a bit highly of herself but, despite that, she is also caring"


The successful applicant will sing covers of Muse songs in the voice of Nico Yazawa. This will include solos, subunit covers and full choruses. Singing in character (medium nasal voice) and having good pronunciation (of Japanese) will be valuable assets. Needless to say, please sing in tune. Our primary form of communication will be Skype. 

The successful applicant will also sing Aqours songs in the voice of Chika Takami. This will be a secondary role and there will be less importance on this compared to your Nico audition.
