Project Overview
This is a short I came up with where Makoto Kino (Sailor Jupiter) asks Ami Mizuno (Sailor Mercury) why The Sailor Senshi get a manicure when they transform if its covered by gloves. Your choice for what kind of voices to use, but you'll get big points from me if you can mimic their original 90s dub voices. I may make this an ongoing series if it gets some attention, but for now, this is just for fun.

Ami is the "Brains" of Sailor Moon's Sailor Senshi. As a civilian, she is very much a introverted book-worm with a gentle amiable personality. Because of her thirst for knowledge and problem-solving skills, she seems to have an answer for everything.
If you've never watched any incarnation of Sailor Moon, I'd recommend looking it up on YouTube to get a sense of Sailor Mercury / Ami's character.
(Done as an intro) Hello. My name is Ami Mizuno, born September 10th, a Virgo, and also known as Sailor Mercury. I’ve been called the brains of the Sailor Senshi, so whenever someone has a question, they ask me.
(Answering Mako's question) This is just a theory of course, but I believe, as Luna does, that our fingers are the source of our power, our strength, and the glow of our nails is in fact a display of cosmic energy, again in theory. To protect this great source of power, we wear gloves, comfortable and thin enough to still retain mobility, but still from a sturdy material that I’ve yet to discover on the periodic table. The armbands also keep the gloves from coming off. Anyway, does that answer your question?
(Answering Mako's question) Oh no, you can’t take your gloves off, they’re specifically designed to safeguard your fingertips while in combat.
Makoto is the brawn of Sailor Moon's Sailor Senshi. As a civilian, she is very much a tomboy with a "tough-girl" persona, but she is also a very benevolent person, if not somewhat scared from past relationships and teasing.
