Sailor Boys - Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto - Sailor Moon Genderbent AU
Project Overview
Hello! This is a casting call for the Sailor Boys project. This project will be a genderbent retelling of the Sailor Moon story, possibly all five arcs. All characters, except Luna and Artemis and several other smaller characters, will be the opposite gender. This casting call will focus on the second movie, Sailor Moon S: Hearts in Ice. From here, we will do audio-play versions of the last movie and eventually, the series itself. Communication by way of e-mail and Skype will be necessary, as I would like to get cast members together to read through scripts as they are finished, before recording. For this role, I'm looking for something like Matthew Mercer's Levi from Attack on Titan or Khary Payton's Aqualad from Young Justice.
The solemn and solitary guardian of time. Pluto has stood guard of the door of Time for centuries. He has a very warm heart, underneath his serious demeanor. He's not as playful as Uranus and Neptune, but he's very protective, especially of Charlie Jr. Very mature, for someone appearing to be 18-19 years old. A solemn and stern voice but still capable of being warm and kind, like a father. And if you can sing, please let me know.
"(warmly, speaking to a child) Whenever you feel sad, just say the word "Abracadabra". It is a magic spell that will make everything better."
"(solemnly) It almost seems as if time has... Stopped."
"(strongly) You may not pass beyond this point! Access to the Door of Time is restricted. Those who break the taboo must be eliminated."
For this role, I'm looking for a lower Vic Mignogna-type voice or something like John Burgmeier's Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho.
Classy, refined, and almost flawless, Michael is Erik's partner, both in battle and in love. Michael is calm and gentlemanly, but without the pretense. He, unlike Erik, questions their mission, but still flows, for fear of what may happen, if they do not. He tends to be very playful and openly flirty and borderline inappropriate, at times, towards Erik, which leaves Erik almost not knowing how to respond. He, like Erik, is like an older brother to the younger senshi.
"Oh? I think you misunderstand something. There is no meaning in protecting a world without Erik."
"(intrigued) Your eyes are remarkable, in color. Proud. You must have been royalty in a former life."
"(suggestively/flirtatiously) I think it's a silly idea. Life is full of wonderful experiences, from the beginning to the end."
A brilliant young astronaut and Kakeru's love interest. They are often at odds because she questions Kakeru and his methods, however she cares very much for him. She is work-based and scientifically oriented.
"(curiously) I don't recall hearing about it at the Space Agency. Are you sure you saw it?"
"(doubtful) You also claim there was a princess who lived on the Moon..."
"(heartbroken and a little desperate) I know I don't quite share the same feelings about the moon as you, but we share other interests and..."
The antagonist. Wants to freeze the earth to add to her collection. Kinda crazy. You can do Linda Ballantyne's version, if you'd like.
"*evil laughter* Say goodbye!"
"(Manipulative) Aren't you tired? I'm offering you the best sleep you'll ever have. You'll be covered in a blanket of ice and sleep forever."
"(Arrogantly) You humans and your fickle ideas of love! Nothing can stop my power!"
For this role, I'm looking for a Johnny Yong Bosch or Micah Solusod type voice, that also has the flexibility to sound passably feminine.
Slightly effeminate, but still very tough and playful, Erik is also Sailor Uranus, the somewhat cold and committed Sailor Senshi. He is partners, both in battle and in love, with Michael, Sailor Neptune. As Erik, he is playful towards the younger senshi, like an older brother, occasionally joke-flirting with Charlie, but as Uranus, he can be cold. He is very commonly confused for being a girl.
"(confidently flirting/teasing) I didn't know that there was someone who was brave enough to fall in love with you. Not that I'm jealous. I just can't allow you to look at anyone else besides me."
"(femininely, teasing/flirting) Oh, yeah, meatball head? What are you going to do about it?"
"(solemnly) I was born a soldier, it was destiny. I was not ready to accept that fact. Probably because I knew that once I did, everything would change..."
