Weiss Schnee (pronounced Why-ss Sh-nee) is a former student of Beacon Academy and one of the main protagonists of RWBY. Her weapon of choice is a Multi Action Dust Rapier (MADR) named Myrtenaster.
The former heiress of the vastly influential Schnee Dust Company, Weiss made her first appearance in the "White" Trailer. After enrolling in Beacon against the wishes of her father, she becomes a member of Team RWBY alongside Ruby Rose, Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long.
The Schnee Dust Company is not responsible for any injuries or damages sustained while operating a Schnee Dust Company product. Although not mandatory, the Schnee Family highly encourages their customers to read and familiarize themselves with this easy-to-follow guide to Dust application and practice in the field.

Yang Xiao Long is a former student at Beacon Academy and one of the main protagonists of RWBY. Her weapons of choice are a pair of Dual Ranged Shot Gauntlets, Ember Celica.
She made her first appearance in the "Yellow" Trailer, searching for clues regarding the whereabouts of her mother, who left her when she was very young. At Beacon Academy, Yang becomes a member of Team RWBY alongside her younger half-sister Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee and Blake Belladonna.

Pyrrha Nikos was a student at Beacon Academy and a member of Team JNPR.
Her weapon of choice, called Miló, was a red-and-bronze spear-like weapon that could transform into a rifle or a short sword. She used this alongside a shield called Akoúo̱, which resembled a classic hoplon.
In "End of the Beginning", Pyrrha engaged in battle with Cinder Fall, who had gained full possession of the Fall Maiden's powers. Despite her valiant efforts, Pyrrha was defeated. Cinder murdered her shortly thereafter by shooting her through the chest with an arrow at point-blank range, before disintegrating her remains and scattering her ashes.
Motivated by her death, the remaining members of Team JNPR joins Ruby Rose in her journey to Haven in order to track down Cinder and her faction.

Fox Alistair[1][2] is a former student at Beacon Academy and a member of Team CFVY. His weapons of choice are a pair of orange blades. Yatsuhashi Daichi is a former student at Beacon Academy and a member of Team CFVY. His weapon of choice is a greatsword with a hooked tip. He is first seen in the Volume 2 Opening, walking with his teammates and is later seen falling from the sky with other teams; he subsequently makes his first, albeit brief appearance in "Field Trip", before making a full-fledged appearance in "Breach".

Cardin Winchester is a former student of Beacon Academy and the leader of Team CRDL. His weapon of choice is a large, black mace.
He was first seen in the episode "The First Step", in which he prepares to be launched into the Emerald Forest. In "Players and Pieces", Cardin is made leader of Team CRDL.

Qrow Branwen (pronounced "Crow") is the twin brother of Raven Branwen, biological uncle of Yang Xiao Long and honorary uncle of Ruby Rose. Qrow's weapon of choice is his scythe known as Harbinger.
He is a former member of the Branwen Tribe as well as a former teacher at Signal Academy. In his youth, Qrow attended Beacon Academy with his sister and together they were on a team with both Summer Rose and Taiyang Xiao Long, known as Team STRQ.
Qrow is also involved with a secret brotherhood led by Ozpin, whose purpose is to protect Remnant and is privy to knowledge kept secret from most of the world.
Despite what the world thinks, we're not just teachers or generals or headmasters. The people in this room, the leaders of the other two academies, we're the ones that keep the world safe from the evils no one even knows about. It's why we meet behind closed doors, why we work in the shadows. So you tell me James, when you brought your army to Vale, did you think you were being discreet, or did you just not give a damn?

Dr. Bartholomew Oobleck is a teacher at Beacon Academy. He is first seen in "Jaunedice, Pt.2" teaching history to the students, specifically teaching about the war between the Humans and the Faunus, which appears to have taken place a few generations before the start of the series.
He is also shown to be more of an intellectual than a fighter through his actions on the battlefield in "Search and Destroy". Despite this, he is still proficient in combat and wields a weapon, which takes the form of his thermos, shown in the episode "Mountain Glenn".
Now, while this must feel like ancient history to many of you, it is imperative to remember that these are relatively recent events! Why, the repercussions of the uprising can still be seen to this day!

Peter Port is a professor at Beacon Academy. He is first seen in "The Badge and The Burden" teaching the Grimm Studies class, with Team RWBYand Jaune Arc from Team JNPR being present in his class. His weapon of choice is a blunderbuss outfitted with a battle axe.

Glynda Goodwitch is a staff member at Beacon Academy.
She was introduced in "Ruby Rose", in which she saved Ruby Rosefrom an attack by Cinder Fall. Her weapon of choice is her riding crop

James Ironwood is the headmaster of Atlas Academy, a General in the Atlesian military, and a holder of two seats on the Atlesian Council. His weapon of choice is a revolver. For unknown reasons, his right arm, leg and part of his torso were replaced with robotic prosthetics.
He was introduced in "Welcome to Beacon", where he is shown speaking to Ozpin about Qrow Branwen and his message.
Oz, you and I both know why I brought those men.

Whitley Schnee is the younger brother of Weiss Schnee and Winter Schnee. He is first seen in "Remembrance" at the Schnees' home. After their father stripped Weiss of her position as heiress in "Punished", Whitley became the heir to the Schnee Dust Company.
I'll have you know I didn't stop growing while you were away at Beacon.

Vernal was an antagonist introduced in "Unforeseen Complications". She was a bandit in the Branwen Tribe, and Raven Branwen's decoy for the real Spring Maiden. Her weapons of choice were wind and fire blades combined with a gun.
In "Vault of the Spring Maiden", Vernal was fatally impaled by Cinder Fall who wanted the Spring Maiden's power. She succumbed to her wounds in "Downfall".
Straight to the point. I like it. We don't normally deal in trafficking people - not really worth our time. But, once we realized we had a Schnee, that changed.
I'm not concerned in any of this. All I care about is my tribe, my family. This is a burden, not an honor.
Don't think I'm going to let you take the easy way out.
Emerald Sustrai is an antagonist in RWBY. She is an associate of Cinder Fall and a partner of Mercury Black.
Just enough to make it look like she's untouchable. She doesn't broadcast her power, so it puts her opponent at a disadvantage.
Well, if Mercury and I see you down the line, don't think we'll go easy on ya.

Taiyang Xiao Long is the father of Yang Xiao Long and Ruby Rose. He is mentioned to be a teacher at Signal Academy on the island of Patch where the girls grew up.
Dear girls, I've got to leave the island for a few days, so I'm sending Zwei today for you to take care of. Enclosed is all the food you should need. Love you both, Taiyang.

Things at Vale are under control, but the school? It's... it's not that simple. That thing, whatever it is, doesn't seem to be dead. Don't get me wrong, you did a number on it, but it's not disappearing. It's kind of... frozen. I know that doesn't sound too bad, but it keeps attracting more Grimm to the school.
