My brother and I have taken RWBY: Ice Queendom (a 12-episode anime based on Monty Oum’s RWBY) and turned it into a movie that also functions as a three parter (which my brother has coined as an “abridgerilogy”). Here’s a few things to keep in mind:
GENERAL NOTES:
1. RWBY is pronounced as "Ruby".
2. JNPR is pronounced as "Juniper".
3. Xiao is pronounced "sh ih ow".
4. Weiss is pronounced like "white", but with an S instead of a hard T.
5. Schnee is pronounced with a “sh” sound, similar to "schtick".
6. Shion is pronounced “she own”.
7. Zaiden is pronounced “zye den”, like "banzai".
8. Due to their lack of presence, certain characters will have dialogue exclusive to the auditions.
WHEREVER APPLICABLE:
1. Text in asterisks (**; italicized in the script) is emphasized.
2. Two periods (..) is a minor pause.
3. To Shion’s auditioners and final VA: While their lines are written normally, minor ad libbing is involved; add pauses, stutters and repeated words or syllables where you see fit.
FINAL CASTING:
1. Fight scenes aren’t fully detailed in the script, so improvise vocalizations (Grunts, yells, etc).
2. Please record up to 3 takes per line.
3. Whitley will not be included in this document; I will play Whitley myself..
4. To Weiss's VA: Every instance of "Baby Weiss" in the script is an individual character; it is written this way to avoid complications with numbers.
5. "Talking at" and "talking to" parentheticals (including talking to themselves) are consistent unless stated otherwise.
6. When "talking to", if possible, actors may be able to bounce the lines with someone during recording.
7.Some actors will get more than one role, due to some parts only having a few lines.
8. In the event that some roles have no auditions when the deadline is reached, the chosen actors and others who have auditioned may be asked to participate in other roles to fill in the gaps.

Yes, it's true. Since many roles have had few to no auditions (Weiss, Yang and Shion in particular), I'm extending the deadline again. Hopefully, this is the last time I'll have to do this, because I really need the cast locked down.

Hi, guys! Looks like the casting audition deadline's closing in. Come April 1st, I'll get the voice cast together and we'll figure out how to get this thing recorded. However, there is still one thing to be accounted for.
No spoilers, but the script will require a completely new sequence of animation close to the end. The animatic is being prepared beforehand, and the role will open when it's finished with its own deadline.

As the New Year gets closer and closer, I noticed that some of the roles still have few to no auditions. So, I've decided to extend the deadline to create more opportunity for actors to audition after the holiday season! You now have until March 31st, 2023 to send in your auditions!
I also have plans to open up a role for an animator, as the script requires a new sequence of animation. This role will be opened once an animatic/rough pass of the scene is finished. So animators, be on the lookout!

Ruby is an energetic young weapon's fanatic. Her voice is youthful and passionate. Her emotions are clearest in her voice.
(excited) “Yay, Yang is so lucky she gets to go to Beacon! I should buy her a present to celebrate!”
(confused) “This is supposed to be a nightmare? 'Cause I feel like I just got dropped in a winter wonderland.”
(frustrated) “Hey, you two having fun over here?! Because I sure as heck am not!”
Weiss is the heir to the Schnee Corporation. Her voice is refined, but not pompous. Refrain from a British accent.
(defiant) “My place... is wherever I want it to be.”
(annoyed) “I swear, if any faunus scum White Fang jump us right now, I'm going to choke someone.”
(supportive) “If determination and a good heart are admirable traits, then I'd say no-one here is more admirable than you.”
Blake is a soft spoken faunus. Her voice is soft and wispy. Somewhat stoic, but not emotionless.
(intrigued) “You have an interesting idea of fun. I don't think I hate it.”
(concerned) “Ruby, please tell me those people aren't who I think they are.”
(contented) “That's to be expected, but that *does* mean the other half will be more open-minded.”
Yang is Ruby's spunky, almost chaotic older half-sister. Her voice is mature, confident and bubbly. Excitable to a fault.
Well if that's the case, then that thing was very stupid. It could've stuffed itself inside me and no-one would've noticed. (slightly disgusted) Ew, I think I grossed myself out.
(overjoyed) “Aw, sweet! I punched a terrorist in the dick! Cross that off the bucket list!”
(nostalgic) “Kinda reminds me of the time I set off a firework inside the house. Good times.”
Shion is a dream expert. Their voice is loose with a tinge of happiness. Sounds vaguely like a stoner.
NOTE: Unfortunately, since most of Shion’s lines are plot-related, they’re only getting one test line to avoid spoilers.
“Y'know, you really shouldn't send kids flying like that? That's very rude, and I'm sure their parents would appreciate it if you didn't do that.”
Baby Weiss is...well, exactly what it sounds like. Their voices are cute and full of energy. Almost sugary sweet.
NOTE: Because they are in a way a character variation, it’d be preferable if someone auditioning for Weiss also auditioned for Baby Weiss.
“Sorry Weiss, I thought you were Weiss.”
“That IS Weiss! She's just trying to trick you!”
“Oops! Looks like you got me, Weiss!”
The word to describe Jaune would be "fluke". His voice is kind of pathetic. Scared and confused all the time.
“Yeah, okay! Fine! Just leave me up here! Not like I'm afraid of heights or anything like that! … Hold on, did they say something about fire? Oh God, I'm gonna die here…”
“What happened?! Where am I?! Where's... my... shirt? And... please tell me no-one laughed.”
“Wait, you said the first initial's the leader, right? …I am *not* ready for this responsibility…”
Nora is the ultimate meme-lady. Her voice is the classic valley girl stereotype. Unhinged energy.

“He said he *aaaiiinnn't* havin' this shit!”
“Oh, dis gon b gud. U mad, noobs? You butthurt, maybe wanna rage quit? Then you're doing it wrong! I'm goddamn Nora Valkyrie, and only I can make food fights epic! If you're gonna score teh wombo combo like a boss, then come at me, sis!”
Pyrrha is...kinda just there, honestly. Her voice is monotone. She is Miss Exposition.
“My name is Pyrrha Nikos. While Jaune is the leader of Team JNPR, I am his mentor. I graduated at the top of my class in Sanctum and won the Mistral Region Tournaments four years in a row.”
“We can take you to Shion. They're the only one who can help her right now, and they will give you further information.”
“As much as we want to help, it wouldn't be right of us to leave him behind like that.”
Ren is the emo boy stereotype, and his voice reflects that. A lowkey presence, even for Team JNPR.
“If anyone needs me, I’ll be.. somewhere, sometime.”
“Please, stop that. It’s bothering me.”
“Sure, whatever.”
Taiyang is Ruby and Yang’s father. That isn’t easy, so voice is tired, but still caring.
“I swear, if we spent all this time looking for her and she got into so much trouble that something exploded...”
“Yang, listen to Ruby on this. The last thing anybody needs is for you to blow up the school.”
“(deep breath) Ruby, watch out for your sister. She needs it more than you do.”
Glynda is the headmistress of Beacon Academy. Her voice is authoritative. She doesn’t talk unless she needs to.
“No talking before the headmaster arrives.”
(quickly; in response to Ozpin) "Yes, headmaster."
(angry) “Listen *now!* If you don’t clean up this mess you made, you’ll all either be sent to detention or *expelled!*”
Ozpin is the headmaster of Beacon Academy. His voice is sightly harsh and uncaring. Very stand-offish.
“Gun-scythe? That sounds incredibly dangerous. And you never hurt yourself with it?”
“Glynda, throw the switch.”
“I swear, these monsters and their powers are getting crazier and crazier... I'm pretty sure I've heard about one with some kind of possession ability. I don't know how serious it is, but that doesn't matter. It's possession, it's messed up no matter what.”
Peter is a teacher at Beacon Academy. His voice is that of a man in his late 40s-early 50s.
NOTE: Peter only has one line (the other line is audition exclusive), so it’d be preferable if someone auditioning for another role also auditioned for Peter.
“Welcome to your first day of class. For today's lesson, you will be fighting this monster.”
“You do realize an attitude like yours won’t get you anywhere, right? Now go off and play, I have much better things to do.”
Torchwick leads Dust store robberies. His voice is sinister with a subtle hiss. Thoroughly untrustworthy.
“So, for all the trouble you've caused me, if you survive, I hope you go blind from this.”
“Oh great, an actual Huntress. Like my day couldn't get any worse.”
“We need to f--k off. *Right now.*”
Jacques is Weiss's father and a huge source of her misery. His voice is that of a pompous old man.
(scolding) “Well, I hope you learned your lesson, little girl.”
“Weiss, if you insist on going through this phase of yours, don't come crying back here when you die.”
(apathetic) “Yeah, that's great. I'm gonna do business stuff.”
Sun spent his life in the mountains with his grandpa, but he isn't a dumb hillbilly. His voice is self-assured with a minor hick.
“I'm not sure what the big deal is, but I'm happy to help!”
“Oh yeah, my grandpa! I spent my whole life with him”
“Well, at least that's good to hear. I'm sure things have only gotten better for you since then.”
