Rising Stars - A New Musical

PROTAGONIST (15, Bass-Low Tenor) - ASSIGNED TO EMOJI PERFORMANCE. River is our neurodivergent, non-binary protagonist! Moving to a new school, (Cliche I know) after being bullied at their previous school for their Autism and status as gender-nonconforming, they go to a new school and gain a fresh start in that's school's theater program. Playing a tree, they manage their life and new romances, they step forward into the future. This performer needs STAMINA. They spend most of the show on stage so the bathroom breaks are limited. And they sing a LOT!!!! So in the future if I releae this for licensing I wish luck to the person casted.

MAIN CHARACTER (16) (Mid Alto - Mid Soprano) - The chipper and optimistic student council president. She is the one who is in charge of helping River adjust to the new school! (River's love interest hehehe) She is the epitome of optimistic while hiding the pain inside. She has 2 solo songs one when she meets River and one about her past and her pain. Actress should be able to convey the deep emotions that this character experiences, pain, anger and such. As well as maintaining her mask as council president! Her wide variety of emotions makes her a hard character to play so break a leg!

Secondary (15, Tenor) - River's best friend. A chill dude who enjoys to just sit back and watch, except when it comes to romance in which he will do anything to to bring two lovers together. Has one solo. But plenty of lines. Looking for a deeper voice something more monotonous in nature if that makes sense.

Secondary (36, Baritenor) - The director of the school's musical. Casts River as a Tree but also an understudy for the lead. A cold director but understanding and dedicated to helping his students. Voice should sound mature in nature and wise. Has one or two solos (Undecided)

Secondary (12, Alto) - Miriam is Ruby's younger sister. A bright starry-eyed child like her sister although she is oblivious to the cruelties of the world. While an optimist, she is also intellegent. An honors child essentially so she provides helpful insight the her big sister even stuff she probably shouldn't know at this age. I would prefer if this character was played by someone under 21 (Since she is the youngest character in the show) but if you are older than 21 and sound enough like a 12 year old then it will be fine. Has one solo.

Supporting (18, Tenor or Alto) - Tracey is the head of GSA at Cavalry Heights.  A genderfluid individual that anyone can audition for. Sings quite a bit. Helps River in their journey through identity. Person performing should have an androgynous voice and a lot of emotion.

Supporting (18, Tenor) - Originally a side character before I realized how many songs I put him in. Not much info on him other than he plays the non-binary lead of the in-universe musical which causes a big outrage. Doesn't have a definitive solo, but does a lot of mini solos throughout.

Extras (Any Age, Any Range) - There are a lot of side characters with mini solos in ensemble songs (Specifically the song where the musical auditions) But there are also side characters who don't sing exist! They just won't have a seperate call on CCC.

Jakob (17, Alto): GSA Vice President who is very stressed out. Trans Masq

KC (16, Tenor or Alto): Trans fem member of GSA.

Mrs. Carmen (52, Soprano): Advisor for GSA, dedicated to helping students in their gender and sexuality journey. A little too dedicated.

Marcus (17, Bass  or Baritone): A, how do you say, an asshole. Homophobic, Transphobic. A massive Prick. Bullies River and has a mini solo.

Ensemble: Parents, Student Body, Cast Members, Stage Hands. There is a lot.

Write the script of the story! As a tip, the script will cover about 45 minutes of the show leaving about 90 - 100 minutes of singing. Two writer roles available! This role is long term. Your Job is to Create the concept art for the show! 5 Roles will be assigned. Roles will be designated to storyboarding, set design, costume design, specifically storyboarding and costume design will have 2 people. All artists will design the banner and playbill together. Please send in previous art works as well as your prefered field to work in! This is a longterm project for y'all but it can be accomplished online even if staged! Help manage the project and it's marketing! You'll manage social media and stuff to ensure the project is getting out there! I want to pay the workers so getting people to buy tickets and fund the kickstarter for it to be brought to stage is a good thing as with enough response, Everyone makes money!!! For this, send in a voice file with how you would market a production. What tactics do you use etc.

Write the lyrics for the show! I'm looking for two people. Thankfully this work is fully online! You will be writing 23 original songs for the show! This is big because well... It's a musical so please send in some previous lyrical work! And a comedy demo as it is a comedy musical. ANY AI OR STOLEN WORKS WILL BE IMMEDIATELY REJECTED!!!

You will be composing about 90 minutes worth of music! Aka 23 original songs. Also have knowledge of music theory and the ability to write sheet music to make it easier for me as music director to teach harmonies and for orchestras to play. Be prepared for the long term as if this is brought to stage, new songs will probably be composed and such but for now... It'll be fine! We need someone to edit the audio for the cast album. Before the show actually has its, a cast album will be recorded with select songs. We need a person to ensure the audio flows seemlessly with the rest of the cast. Please submit a previous work that you have done audio tech for. ANY AI OR STOLEN WORK WILL BE IMMEDIATELY REJECTED!
