Return to Dominaria Episode 3
Project Overview
As Wizards of the Coast continues to release their weekly Magic Story updates, it is our goal on the Voice of All podcast to bring these stories to life through audio.
At last it is time for us to return to Dominaria, the first world of Magic. This week, Jhoira is searching for a crew to help her pilot the skyship Weatherlight. A new generation takes up the mantle! You can check out this week's story here:

The skyship Weatherlight is powered by a sacred relic of the Serran faith, and the church appointed Tiana as an angelic guardian to ensure that it is properly venerated. Once aboard, however, Tiana found that she enjoyed the practical work of keeping the engine running and became the ship's engineer. She is adept at mending both machines and magical blessings, and can fix many malfunctions with a mere touch or a whispered word. Tiana is very human for an angel. Emotional, easily embarrassed and excited in equal parts. She has a special connection with the Weatherlight that makes her supremely happy.
Tiana is a major character in the Dominaria storyline. Should you accept this role, you will be asked to reprise it when she appears again in future stories.
"No, it's not, I'm not . . . There's a lot of sand in the air today, I'm surprised everyone isn't crying." [very flustered, crying tears of joy]
"It's intact; the connections in the cradle look good. The motivator's still attached. That's surprising after what it's been through." [analyzing an engine from the ship's wreckage.]
"You mean an angel who lacks confidence in her angelness? It's a long story." [wryly, in response to "I don't think I've met an angel like you before."]
The skyship Weatherlight's most famous captain was Sisay, whose family had been entrusted by Urza himself with its care. Shanna is descended from Sisay, and wields her renowned ancestor's sword. Though she is more than happy to serve under Jhoira's command, Shanna has her eyes on the future... and the captain's chair. Shanna is a warrior. Cheerful and matter of fact. She also possesses strong, innate anti-magic abilities, making her immune to most magic.
Shanna is a major character in the Dominaria storyline. Should you accept this role, you will be asked to reprise it when she appears again in future stories.
"I'd consider it an honor, to follow in the footsteps of my ancestor. To serve as she served. If the Weatherlight existed."
"So they're training mages at twelve, now? Or thirteen?" [skeptical. a small boy in front of you is claiming to be a great mage]
"I think I have scars older than that child."
Raff is the younger child of Aron Capashen, head of the current Highest House of Benalia. Fully aware of the weight of his predecessor Gerrard's legacy, Raff has chosen to prove himself worthy of the Capashen name by mastering the study of magic in the Tolarian academy - and by serving aboard the Weatherlight. Raff is a young, very excitable teen, but already a highly accomplished mage with great skill in illusion magic.
Raff is a major character in the Dominaria storyline. Should you accept this role, you will be asked to reprise it when she appears again in future stories.
"Jodah of Tolaria himself said I was one of the most accomplished students he had ever seen." [boasting - and lying - to get them to take him on their ship]
"Oh, do you know Jodah?" [lies don't work when they know the person! worry as he realizes this isn't going as he planned]
"I won't be annoying any more, I'll be helpful. And I'm sorry for lying, I just really, really want to go with you." [earnest and excited!]
Danitha is a brash young knight of Benalia. She is heir to House Capashen, Raff's older sister, and one of Benalia's foremost fighters. She wants to be on the front lines and declines Jhoira's mission in favor of protecting her homelands personally.
Though she refuses the mission in this story, I suspect we will see more of Danitha later on. Should you accept this role, you will be asked to reprise if she appears again in future stories.
"I'm a knight of Benalia. I'm sworn to defend this land."
"The Cabal is attacking outlying towns and villages all around us. If I went with you, we might be fighting the Cabal halfway across the world. I want to fight them here, in my home."
"I need to return to my command. Stay here as long as you wish; you're both always welcome."
Tien is the chief metalworker helping with Jhoira's project to rebuild the Weatherlight. Not much is said of her beyond this and these are her only lines. That said, it is possible that she may reappear in future stories. Should she do so, you will be asked to reprise the role.
"That's a good sign... Isn't it?" [concerned but hopeful. the engine is still in the wreckage but it doesn't seem to be working]
"I didn't think angels studied mechanics." [surprised. dumbfounded even]
