Reel Project: Desi VA for Brahma from "The Many Deaths of Laila Starr"
Project Overview
Project Overview
Overview: Hey there! My name is Ben and I'm a sound designer looking to learn more about voice design for video games. I am working on a voice design showreel that showcases different characters and voice processing. Currently, I am looking for a voice actor for Brahma from the graphic novel "The Many Deaths of Laila Starr".
The selected audition will get a video file back of the line being processed/edited with added effects. Feel free to use this in your reel. This project is completely non-commercial.
Background:
"The Many Deaths of Laila Starr" has the Hindu gods existing in a more modern business setting in Mumbai. Here Brahma is the head of his department and is in charge of overseeing his employees (the gods) including one of the main characters of the book, the god of death.
Brahma doesn't have a ton of lines in this book but he comes off as your typical higher up. Not too bothered by the goings on of those below him in the food chain. He is professional almost to a fault, forgetting that his employees are also people (or in this case gods).
Voice: Male, Indian accent, professional, irreverent, older. As this character is Indian, only actors of Indian descent will be considered for the role

SCRIPT
[In this scene Brahma is firing the god of Death due to departmental restructuring. This is largely because there is a child being born into the human world that will be bringing with them immortal life. This will obviously be cutting down on Death's case load so unfortunately Brahma is having to let her go.]
BRAHMA: Ahh, Death, yes of course! Come, come have a seat. How long have you been with us, Death? Feels like an eternity doesn’t it? A pity, then… I’m afraid we’re letting you go. It's nothing personal! We're restructuring the whole department. You see, there just won't be as much... death... and so...
