Every 1000 years, gods of every pantheon convene and hold a conference to decide the fate of humanity by calling a vote to determine whether or not the human race should continue living or go extinct. With the most recent of these conferences having concluded, the gods unanimously decided to put humanity to an end. However, at the very last second, the eldest of the Valkyries, accompanied by the youngest, intervened and made the bold proposition to let humanity have a say in their fate by letting them go against the gods in a series of one-on-one fights to see if they are worthy of continuing to exist. Afraid to let go of their pride, the gods accept this proposal. Thirteen gods will fight against thirteen human champions. The first side to reach seven victories will decide humanity's fate.
It is highly recommended to read at least the first volume before auditioning. It can be easily found on Mangadex.org

Göll, you're still an apprentice, so you may not know that our ties to the mortals are thicker than any of the gods. How could we abandon them in their time of need?
Göll is the youngest of the 13 Valkyries, and our second main character. Usually a nervous wreck. As an apprentice Valkyrie, she doesn't seem all that interested in saving Humanity compared to worrying about her sisters. However, she shows her respect and admiration for the Human warriors who fought to the end for the sake of Humanity's survival.

A neutral party in the battle between gods and mankind, Heimdall is merely an announcer who's been waiting for his opportunity to blow his Gjallerhorn(pronounced like Gya-ller-horn). Think of him like if a pro wrestler announcer was a goblin. Make him bombastic, make him entertaining, really belt out those lines.

Zeus, one of the, if not THE main antagonist, and the God Father Of the Cosmos .When addressing his fellow gods, Zeus is extremely calm and authoritative while possessing a very formal and wise disposition. Like most gods, Zeus holds his own kind to a superior and extremely high standard, always expecting them to win no matter the odds, and seething with anger when they lose to humans. Zeus is also an eccentric individual, having random exaggerated emotional outbursts, breaking into a dance at the start of the second round of Ragnarok in front of everyone present, even being called the most shameful god by Hermes.
Ladies and gentlemen, your attention please. A thousand years have passed since last we convened. I hereby call this council to order!
Isn't it just wonderful...? To watch men fight and die...? Although, seeing him take Thor's might head-on...he's shown us something special....
As long as we fight, we win. Such are the gods.
Hermes has a detached, calculating, yet sometimes playful personality. He rarely shows strong emotions, and when he does, it is usually of surprise, when a human bests a god. Think stoic, with a comedic slant.

Aphrodite is, as far as I can remember, one of the characters with the least amount of dialogue. Personality wise, she also has a haughty attitude. She had been so displeased with humanity's environmental pollution, culling of animals, and propensity for conflict that she had been voting for humanity's destruction in every Gods' Council since at least 2000 BC.
You might well say that mankind is a cancer on the face of the planet. Or a disaster that will destroy the world. Would that be more fitting?
Why don't we just end them already? From what I've seen over the past millennium, the mortals are still unrepentant.

Odin, much like his son Thor, is a man of few words. Very few words. There's actually very little I can describe about him personality-wise.

Thor, Norse God of Thunder and the first fighter on behalf of the gods. Thor appears as an icy, cold, and indifferent God; remaining largely expressionless during his bout with Lü Bu. However, his true nature was unveiled in battle. Similar to Lü Bu, Thor is a bloodthirsty battle maniac and takes great interest in combat; especially with strong and/or worthy opponents. Furthermore, he only shows happiness and joy in true battle,.

Lü Bu, The Flying General, The Vanguard Of Humanity, and the first of our Einherjar. Lü Bu was a fearless, bold, determined and battle-lusting individual who, like Thor, took an enormous amount of pleasure in fighting. He had no fear of death or injury. During his life, Lü Bu fell into despair when he realized that nobody in the mortal world could challenge him. Lü Bu was described by Brunhilde as the worst and most barbaric warrior. Similar to Thor, he is a man of few words, only speaking when absolutely necessary or when in combat.

Randgriz, our 3rd Valkyrie and the first we see make use of the Volund. Due to her lack of screen/page time, we don't get much out of her personality-wise, though her most notable trait is her unwavering loyalty to Brunhilde. Willingly using the Volund technique, despite knowing it could mean death without afterlife.
