Recast Details:
This is an emergency recast for Ryder Doyle.
We are in the middle of production on season one, and due to scheduling conflicts, we suddenly need a new voice actor for Ryder.
I suggest - but do not require - you watch past episodes or at least small samples of them, in order to get a feel for the show and the character. If you are cast, you will immediately have assignments waiting for you. Please keep this in mind before auditioning - we will need a speedy turnaround in order to keep up on production.
Plot Synopsis:
Realm Jumper is the story of a boy named Chase, who falls through a Rip in spacetime and ends up in a pocket dimension in the multiverse called The Academy.
Very shortly after Chase arrives, another version of him does as well. Charlie is much more knowledgeable about magic and the multiverse in general - but also has no idea how he got to the Academy or why his magic is blocked off. The mystery of Charlie's curse and the other strange happenings at the Academy keep the gang running around, while others begin to plot how to change their fates.
As of the mid-season finale, Charlie's curse has been broken at the cost of the life of one of his friends, and the other characters have been scattered across the multiverse. Chase and Tina, left alone, must figure out what to do next to rescue their friends.
About the Project:
Realm Jumper is a dramatic-comedy web series about characters from across the multiverse learning about each other and their pasts, while mastering their abilities and dealing with threats to their safety. The show focuses on found family, redemption arcs, and themes of deconstructing and finding new twists on common character tropes. The show's genre leans more towards comedy, but does have intense scenes dealing with trauma and violence.
This series consists of voice acting over still art frames. The voice acting will be done on your own time, with a deadline for each episode's lines.
There will be three seasons to the series, with potential for additional content. Please keep this in mind when auditioning. There will be breaks in between seasons.
The show is not dark, but does contain instances of dark topics as well as strong language throughout. If you have any specific questions, please message me privately and I will gladly elaborate in order to make you feel more at ease.
About the Casting Call:
Please do 1-3 takes of the lines in ABCABC format.
Be aware that if casted, you will have to convey a wide variety of emotions. While that is expected, I am emphasizing this fact because you and your microphone must be able to handle crying, yelling, screaming, and similar sounds without losing audio quality.
Be aware that the character's genders are listed in their role info, but you are allowed to audition for any role regardless of your own identity. I will be choosing voice actors based on how much you embody the character, not based on if your identity matches theirs.

The character uses he/him pronouns, but any gender may audition
Since this is a recast, Ryder's new voice should sound similar to his original voice. I am not looking for an impression or an exact match. I am looking for someone who can match the lower, gruff tone, but the voice actor is welcome to bring their own spin to the role.
Ryder is a bit deadpan, and tends to go on long, rambling monologues. However, he is currently in-universe dealing with very personal and traumatic events, so be prepared to show that emotion.
Ryder is a noir detective who prefers smaller cases to the life threatening ones. He has been pulled into important events despite his protests, including the events of Charlie's curse at the Academy.
