Quite The Purrdicament - Part 4
Project Overview
Hello and welcome!
More likely than not, you're here after watching my announcement video on YouTube! I can't wait to get you guys started, but there are a few things to note before you audition:
1. Please have a decent microphone (lines can be recorded on a phone though, if it has a clear enough sound).
2. No background noise, please.
3. Please try to get the voices as close to the characters in the show as possible, so that we can make the end result as enjoyable for fans of MLB to watch as we can!
4. Have fun with the roles and do a few different takes of each line for your audition to show off your talent, you literally have nothing to lose!
If you're stuck for some inspiration, you can watch part one of Quite The Purrdicament in the Youtube link above for a guideline on how the voice actors for parts 1-3 handled their characters! It'll also give you a better idea of how my art translates into the personalities and moods of the characters you'll be voicing!

There has been an incredible response to this casting call and I truly appreciate everyone who has taken the time to audition for this project. It has unfortunately come to an end and I have contacted the membera making up the final cast. I hope that everyone who did not get cast this time thoroughly enjoyed the experience! Thank you again and I wish you all the best in your future voice acting endeavors! Best Regards Chelsea
Adrien is the male lead of the show Miraculous Ladybug. A highschool model by day and a crime-fighting, cat-suited superhero by night, he is your typical nice guy to his friends, but is a closet otaku and has a weakness for bad puns - usually cat-related ones. He considers Marinette to be a good friend, but is head-over-heels for her alter-ego, Ladybug (although he doesn't know they're the same person. Awkward!)
[smugly] I mean, I think Marinette should decide for herself. Isn't that right, princess?
[with urgency] We need to get everyone out of the building as quickly as possible. Try to contact Ladybug, I have to check on Nino.
[whining] But I'm so hungry. You sure I can't just have a little nibble?
(Also, give me your best/lamest pun!)
Marinette is the female lead and titular character of Miraculous Ladybug. A shy, stuttering, aspiring fashion designer by day and a heroic, confident heroine by night, she has a few close friends and a HUGE crush on her classmate, Adrien Agreste. Too bad she doesn't know he's her wise-cracking (and, in her eyes, annoying) partner-in-crime, Chat Noir. She has a rather high-pitched voice.
[flustered] B-b-but, how could I - why would I even give it to him in person? Can't I just like, leave it on his doorstep instead? (sheepish laughter)
[heroic] Don't worry everyone, everything is going to be alright! Chat and I are on the case!
[lovestruck] I could get lost in those eyes for days (dreamy sigh). [distracted] Wait, I'm sorry, what were you saying?
As Chat Noir's kwami, every day is a challenge. Plagg is sarcastic with a sense of humour so dry it puts the Sahara Desert to shame. Always cracking-wise, he never seems to take anything seriously, but he does care about his Miraculous holder more than he lets on. His voice is mid-range and has a nasal quality to it. Inject as much character into this voice you can because it is definitely one of the more fun roles to read for!
[bluntly] Dude. I am so judging you right now.
[impressed] (a low, impressed whistle) Jeez, when I said chaos kid, I didn’t mean this. Colour me surprised.
[incredulous] Did he actually get taller? (snort of laughter) [sarcastically] Hey! Way to go, short stack!
Marinette's soft-spoken, kind-hearted kwami. She always looks for the best in people and Marinette means the world to her. The only person to incur her wrath so far, has been Plagg. She has a very high-pitched, breathy voice. Make her adorable.
[encouraging] Wow, Marinette! These are beautiful! You're really so talented.
[cutely frustrated] Honestly, Plagg. Do you have to ruin it every single time they have a moment?
[panicked] Oh no! This is a disaster! How are we going to find our way back?
Alya is Marinette's best friend and the person to go to for everything Ladybug. She is intelligent and quick-witted with a confidence that Marinette envies. She also happens to think that Adrien is a vampire, whoops. She has a mid-low range, husky voice.
[thinking hard] Now, if I were a sparkly-wannabe that couldn't set foot into sunlight, where would I go?
[excited] Come on, Nino! This is our first break in the case, we've got to check the place out!
[sheepish] I...I guess I owe you two an apology then. Especially you, Adrien. I'm really sorry.
Nino is Adrien's best friend. Easy-going and chill, he's fun to be around when he isn't fawning over his girlfriend, Alya. I really need that laid back, surfer dude tone for Nino's voice, it really is a fun and essential quirk of his and really makes the character.
[easy-going] Hey man, how's it hangin'?
[stressed] I thought you said we'd end it there, Alya. I can't do this to my best friend.
[disbelieving] So you're telling me that this tiny little thing is gonna help us solve this gigantic mess we've gotten ourselves into?
Marinette's mother is a soft-spoken, maternal woman. She has a gentle voice in the mid-high range. She hasn't appeared in my comic dub as yet so, for reference, please see her voice in the original show.
[comforting] I wouldn't worry about her, dear. Marinette has a good head on her shoulders. She isn't going to do anything irresponsible.
[embarrassed] N-no reason. Can we just drop it? Please?
[loving] I am so, so proud of you honey. And I know your father is too. We love you. So much.
Tom Dupain is Marinette's father. He is a jolly man with a voice to match. His voice is mid range and has a hearty quality. He hasn't appeared in my comic dub as yet so, for reference, please see his voice as in the original show.
[confused] What's the name of that movie with the sparkling teenagers, again? Midnight?
[calling to the other room] Dinner's almost ready, Mari! You and your little friend should come get it while it's hot!
[teasing] (hearty laughter) Do you want to tell me why on earth you know that, sweetheart?
