Project Ozma
Project Overview
“Space, the final frontier.” That is, until we met other life forms. Now
Earth has chosen one hero to go into space to meet at the intergalactic
united meetings to represent all of our planet. However, taking along
an old time friend to be launched into space can give you some
troubles--add in some politics, backstabbing, and corruptible machinery,
and you've got yourself a day in the life of Percy and Quinn.
ABOUT AUDITIONS:
No prior experience needed
All ages are welcome, however please know that both the creator and one
of the writers are in their 20s so if this makes you uncomfortable, you
are by no means required to audition.
We understand that not everyone has access to a great mic, however audio
quality will be taken into account in auditions, so please put your
best face forward when it comes to this (ex: have little to no
background noise, etc.).
This story will include swearing, however not every character will, so if this makes you uncomfortable, please let us know.
Many characters are a part of the LGBTQ+ community and hate will not be tolerated.
Communication will be done through Discord, if you are cast, you will be
expected to create an account if you do not have one already.
Although lines for only five characters are currently available, there
are dozens of galactic leaders, their guards, serving bots, and more, so
even if you think you might not fit one of the characters below, you
could be perfect for someone not listed.

HOW TO AUDITION:

**AUDITION NOTE** Email auditions are preferred, however if you decide

Here, queer, and living without fear (she gay).
Percy is the protagonist as well as narrator of the podcast and will carry the most lines. She is bold, confident, and sure of herself. After Quinn showed up at her doorstep, Percy finds herself representing Earth as its queen. Though calm and laid back most of the time, when overwhelmed, Percy often finds herself rambling on and on about whatever comes to mind. This habit has wound her up in a few…interesting situations.

to cool herself) I was willing to accept that college had just separated
us, I didn't want to, but after daily texts became weekly then trickled
to monthly until finally not answering at all, I got the message. She
had moved on with her life and it was time for me to do the same. (she
pauses for a minute) But why now? After all these years of nothing, why
does she suddenly declare that she's gonna be here now?”“You know what? I could wrap my head around
the whole "aliens are real" idea and was almost ready to accept it. But
this? (laughs) You are absolutely fucking nuts.”

Shy, bi, and ready to cry.
Quinn is a supporting character and will appear in almost every episode. She is quieter than Percy. Quinn is handy with a book, but less so with people. Where Percy rambles when overwhelmed, Quinn tends to shut down and freeze up. Quinn is chosen by King to go to space with the task of representing the human race. Knowing of her social discomforts, Quinn turns to her old childhood friend Percy and asks her to stand in as queen while Quinn will take the supporting role of guard.

Younger than King.
King’s Assistant, Reed is strict and formal. They are in charge of keeping contact with Percy and Quinn while they are in space. Reed is extremely dedicated to their job to the point where they can come off as cold. They have good intentions, however their phrasing may not always replicate that.

Robot.
A.I. is the head robot aboard the Ozma, the space station where the political meetings are held. They are the master technician and are in charge of the maintenance and upkeep of all the other bots. A.I. is cheerful and helpful.
