De Novo: Reproduce the World Anew

This project is a free-to-play fan project inspired by the Danganronpa series. In this story, eighteen people from all around the world, all each with their own "Aptitudes" for a specific talent , are trapped in forest camp completely isolated from the outside world, with a horrifying hog who claims is their "Director" telling them that the only way out is to kill.

Information and Expectations

This project may consist of scenes depicting violence, death, blood, cursing, psychological distress, sensitive topics, like trauma or mental illness, and other potentially sensitive material. This project is not for kids!

This project is early in development, so characters, setting, and story are subject to change. Discord is strongly recommended as most updates and information will be discussed there.

This project is purely for fun and details like the deadline are flexible and subject to change as the game progresses. Some roles may not be determined until later phases in the project. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me!

Please include discord in your auditions. You're free to apply to multiple roles or characters. For creative roles, please provide an example of past works. Note that this game will be shared publicly.

Timeline

Phase 1:

Story/Script Writers Auditions: Due May 20th

Programmer Auditions: Due June 1st

Phase 2:

Creative roles (Artists, Animators, Sound): July 1st (may be hired early)

Phase 3:

Voice Acting Roles: TBD

Phase 1

Phase one is the early planning stage, where the story, characters, and mechanics are being determined. All roles can be auditioned for with the exclusion of voice acting roles. Roles and project info are subject to change and will likely not be determined this phase.

Phase 2

Phase two is the building phase. Artists, musicians, and similar creative roles will be determined while programmers and writers will be working on the game itself, setting up the script and mechanics for visual novel gameplay.

Phase 3

Phase 3 is the voice acting roles! This is where we will give our cast their voices. The script and gameplay may still be a work-in-progress during this phase.


Important!

  • This project, while original, is inspired by danganronpa. As such, I am not associated with Spike Chunsoft, Team Danganronpa, or other fan Danganronpa works.

  • You must be 16 years or older to apply for these roles.

  • This is a long-term project and will likely take a long time to complete! Please only submit auditions if you are willing to stick around for the long run.

  • There is a chance for early casting or back-up roles! Please be aware that roles can be chosen before the due date.

  • I'm not looking for AI or AI-assisted works. Any AI content will be rejected.

Kiana Locket, from a young age, she could always seem to find a way to get into the locked cabinets her family had hidden candy from her in. Her parents would only figure it out once the jar had finally been emptied and her stomach was full. Kiana has gotten into her fair share of other trouble though her teen years, though nothing she couldn't get out of. Now that she is 23 She frequently does things that are odd to others, but completely normal to her without even realizing it. DJ Frequency’s true identity as a person is left unknown as his radio mask covers his entire head, like how does he even see outta that thing? Regardless, he’s great at parties turning tables and stuff like that. He’s got his own radio show that’s pretty popular where he plays music all the time. His mask doubles as a vocaliser and he can change the his voice through it. Since it still has some functionality of a radio on it however, he can pick up signals and play back other stations, though sometimes he has to play around with it so he doesn’t sound like static. He even has a cd and a cassette player. Man how does this thing even work?! Whatever. Point is he uses a ton of slang and 2000’s like talk. He’s the type of guy you hang around if you’re trying to have a good time with a pretty damn unique guy. He has a lighter, upbeat voice that has a large range.
