Deadline extension
I'm going to be out of town for the week after the 15th, so I'm extending the deadline to give people a little more time to send stuff in. Still need auds especially for Caras, Heron and Robin!
Princess Tutu: Chapter of the Bird, Audition Round 2
Project Overview
(This audition was posted previously and was partially cast, but some roles remain open, which are shown below. If you submitted for these roles already, I still have your auditions on file! You don't have to submit here again unless you want to resubmit a new take.)
Princess Tutu is a cult classic anime from the early 2000s about a duck who turns into a magical ballerina to gather the shattered shards of a prince's heart. Chapter of the Bird is a fanfiction continuation that was completed in 2016. The fanfiction is available to read online here.
As it was formatted like the original anime, there are previews of each following chapter aka "episode" of characters' quotes from the corresponding chapter. I put together a visualization of these previews using artwork I drew and edited from an online dollmaker with permission of the original creator (link to dollmaker in video description).
While I've finished the video, it lacks voices, so this project is an attempt to give voices to this video, while also giving it a few cosmetic updates! While it would be great if you sounded similar to the original dub, I'm looking for good performances and character fit most of all. Some characters I might actually want something different from the original, so feel free to interpret differently!
As I'm basing the script off the official dub, which translated a number of character names such as Ahiru to Duck, I have some characters who are known originally by another name; those are in parentheses.

An intimidating young man who is the reincarnation of the monster Raven, a frightening giant bird who terrorized the town not long ago. He is intense and full of spite for humanity, but hidden within his dark ambitions is a gentle, brave heart that was once corrupted beyond repair long ago due to his own kindness. At one point in the story, he has a bout of amnesia, where he forgets not only his memories, but his bitterness, too.
Voice: Medium-low adolescent male

(ominously, commandingly) "All shall rue the day I bring them all together. That is the day I will regain what is rightfully mine. Now, return to me the shard!"
(during his bout of amnesia; a grim but sincere piece of advice) "One day, you'll have to learn that if you don't fight for what you want, you'll be powerless to have it taken from you."
(when someone he deeply cares about tries one last time to stop him from doing something terrible to himself and everyone else; with despairing resolve) "My true self is a being of darkness who only brings harm to everyone. Without that, I am nothing."

An adolescent girl who is kind and soft-spoken. Though her friends are very important to her, she protects their enemy behind their backs when she finds out that he wasn't truly the enemy they believed him to be.

(pleading with an acquaintance to not reveal to her other friends that she is sheltering their enemy without their knowledge) "Please, Miss Hawkley, don't tell the others that I'm hiding him!"
(in tears, defeated, wondering aloud to herself if her efforts were ultimately pointless) "Mister Caras… were you right after all? Was I the stupid one all along?"
(trying one last time to stop him from doing something terrible to himself and everyone else; desperately pleading for him to reconsider his actions, genuinely caring about his happiness) "What do you gain, becoming a terrifying monster that brings suffering and chaos to all? Will that really make you happy?"
