CASTING CALL: 1920s Noir / Supernatural Audio Drama

Project Overview: We are casting voice actors for a gritty, atmospheric audio drama set in Prohibition-era Chicago, blending hardboiled 1920s detective noir with dark supernatural horror. Think The Maltese Falcon meets Constantine.

The Premise: In 1926 Chicago, death is a one-way ticket for everyone—except Private Investigator Raymond Flint.

Flint was supposed to die from an artillery shell in the trenches of Belleau Wood in 1918. Instead, he woke up three hours later with a healed skull and a terrible curse: he can’t stay dead.

Now, operating out of a dingy four-room office, Flint works the cases the cops won’t touch. He’s cynical, tired, and deeply reliant on cheap rye whiskey. But when his gritty mob clean-ups and missing-persons cases begin to overlap with a shadowy occult syndicate—a high-society cult that knows exactly why he survived the war—Flint realizes he isn't the only ghost haunting the city.

The Vibe & Tone:

• Atmospheric & Immersive: Heavy on sound design—rain-slicked streets, squeaky leather holsters, jazz speakeasies, and the close, intimate crackle of a private eye's internal monologue.

• Gritty & Grounded: The dialogue is sharp, cynical, and fast-paced. We want grounded, realistic performances, not overly cartoonish "mobster" stereotypes.

• Eerie & Occult: The supernatural elements are dark and creeping. The horror stems from cult rituals, war trauma, and the agonizing physical reality of dying and regenerating.

What We Are Looking For: We need actors capable of delivering authentic, emotionally grounded performances in a vintage setting.

• The Hardboiled Lead: A deep, raspy, world-weary baritone who can balance dry, sarcastic wit with the heavy exhaustion of a man who has lived too long.

• High-Society Figures: Elegant, transatlantic accents for wealthy widows, corrupt tycoons, and socialites with dark secrets.

• The Chicago Underworld: Sharp-talking speakeasy owners, corrupt cops, and streetwise thugs (authentic 1920s Chicago/midwestern working-class dialects).

• The Occult & The Foreign: Creepy, charismatic cult leaders, and characters with various European accents (French, Romanian, German) tied to Flint's time in the First World War.
