PolyGLaDOS: a Love Letter to Portal
Project Overview
PolyGLaDOS is a multilingual fan project aiming to dub the original Portal (2007) into languages that never received an official voiceover. Our goal is to make this iconic game more accessible and immersive for players around the world — all while staying 100% faithful to the original script, tone, and atmosphere.
We are not remaking or altering the existing English dub — instead, we are filling the gap left in other languages, preserving the spirit of GLaDOS, the turrets, and the eerie silence of Aperture Science.
We're currently casting for voice actors and looking for audio engineers to help bring these new dubs to life. Whether you're a fan of Portal, passionate about localization, or just love bringing characters to life through voice, you're welcome to join us!
Important Notes:
This is a non-commercial, fan-made project. No one involved will be paid.
All participants will be fully credited.
You must be able to record in decent quality (clear mic, minimal background noise).
Direction and reference material will be provided to help match the original tone and timing.
Let’s bring the cake (and GLaDOS) to more people — one language at a time.

Please proceed into the chamberlock after completing each test.
Any contact with the chamber floor will result in an unsatisfactory mark on your official testing record, followed by death.

We’re looking for an Audio Engineer to join the PolyGLaDOS project — a non-profit fan initiative to dub Portal into languages that never received an official voiceover. Your role will be to mix and master character voice lines so they fit seamlessly into the game’s original audio environment.
This includes:
Cleaning and enhancing voice recordings
Adding subtle filters or robotic effects (e.g., for GLaDOS, turrets)
Matching volume levels and ambiance to the original game
Ensuring clarity while preserving the unique tone of each voice
You’ll work closely with the director and voice actors to maintain fidelity to the source material and ensure immersion.
