Project Overview

This is an unpaid casting call for the English dub of Chapter 0 in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Valiant Heart animated series, approved and created by content creator Matropical. We currently have 15 roles in need of voices for the Chapter 0 dub of the series (5 major character roles, 7 minor roles and 2 sets of multiple supporting roles). We’d love to have your help in bringing these characters to life!

Requirements

  • Submit a single .WAV or .MP3 audio file in MONO format here or through the Casting Call Doc Submission form: https://forms.gle/mm6drKwHCnC34CVT7

  • Audition lines should be submitted in ABCABC order (Line 1, Line 2, Line 3 BREAK). Submissions not in this order may be rejected.

  • Please submit your best 2 to 3 takes per line in your audition .

  • Clean XLR Mic auditions are preferred, but USB mic auditions are gladly accepted.

  • Auditioners must be 16 years or older.

Story (Chapter 0):

Deep underground hidden in the mountains, the Tera Crystal, an ancient artifact that can alter time and reality to whatever the wielder wishes, has fallen into the hands of a mysterious Pokémon. Soon after, a beacon of light pierces the sky and mechanical creatures resembling Pokémon begin invading the land, annihilating everything they come across. Juno and Gladius return to their home Diabun Town to rescue Junos' daughter Ramie and prevent futuristic Pokémon from destroying the guild, including one interested in taking Ramie using whatever means necessary…

    Hello folks, Hat_Holder here! At this time the casting call is offically closed and all those chosen by Matropical should be contacted! Once again, thank you so much for your interest in the project and for wanting to lend your voice to what I think could be a great thing!

    If you were not casted, we still greatly appreciate you for auditioning for a role. There will be more to come from Valiant Heart, so if you still are interested in being a voice in the series. do look out for any future casting calls for dubs of the future chapters, either from me or even Matropical themselves.

  • (7/8/2025) Update to Juno and Kojiro roles

    Hello everyone, Hat Holder here! Letting you know about updates to 2 of the major roles:

    Juno - Junos final voice will offically not have a brooklyn accent.

    Kojiro - Additional Voice Claim was added, being Grovyle from the "Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky - Beyond time and Darkness" special anime episode. (Link to voice claim is included in characters description!)

    To those who had a take with a brooklyn accent in their Juno audition, your auditions are perfectly fine as long as you had at least 1 take without the accent. If you wish to resubmit though, you're more than welcome to! This also goes for anyone who wishes to resubmit for Kojiro with the updated voice claim.

    If you've read to this part, I gotta let you know that Valiant Hearts creator Matropical thanks you all for auditioning and following the project so far! They're truly grateful there are people that want to help make this dub come to fruition with their voices.

Ramie is the main protagonist of VH. An inventive female Tinkatuff (16) travelling the land in search of her mother who is presumed to be dead. Her optimistic and carefree attitude makes her face danger with a smile, to the point that she becomes a bit reckless in the process.


Voice Direction: High pitched voice with a cheery, loud, and confident tone.

Gladius (Prologue: 36) is a fierce male Garchomp out for a vengeance to kill every Ironmon he comes across, he is most well known as the "Iron Hunter". He's very cold and serious, but is also very devoted to the people he cares about.

Kojiro (Prologue: 38) is a stoic male Samurott and the current Guildmaster of the Relic Guild. He is an excellent leader with a great sense of justice and honor, though he does not hesitate to get serious when the time calls for it.

A paradox pokemon with no name of unknown origins (Ageless). She is a cold and calculating machine that somewhat resembles a gardevoir and a gallade, carrying out the orders given to her from a mysterious pokemon. As a combatant, she is powerful and cruel, having no emotions to note.


Voice Direction: A monotone, high to medium pitch voice, robotic but try not to sound like an AI.
