Piggy: Tales from Evalia (Roblox Machinima Series)

Project Overview

Tales from Evalia is a fan series based on the Roblox game Piggy, telling stories from this game's lore - implied and improvised, canon and fanon - in a format very similar to The Twilight Zone and Goosebumps. Each episode will focus on a character and their unusual, yet semi-relatable struggles, often ending in an unsettling or tragic fashion. Most characters will only appear once, but some are planned to reappear. Said recurring characters will be specified.

This series is in a machinima format, meaning the majority of its contents will be recorded within games on the Roblox platform, namely Accurate Piggy Roleplay & Piggy: Branched Realities. This casting call, however, is solely for voice actors, as even though my own voice is very diverse, there is only so much I can do on my own, and I would like to give others who are willing a chance to put themselves out there (given this series does well with the YouTube algorithm).

Unfortunately, this is not a paid project, simply just for the love of the game. If I had the money to pay actors, I very much would, but I cannot at the moment.

Not all roles are added and more may be opened in the future.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE (forgot to add this initially, sorry): When auditioning, make sure you have minimal to no background noise, and give multiple takes in AABBCC or AAABBBCCC format.

Dakoda

Role assigned to: Rhythm_Song_VA

Dakoda is a dugong that is a part-time diver, part-time lighthouse keeper. As friendly and pure-hearted as they are, their social anxiety holds them back from properly making friends, and so they often spend their time indoors reading a book or in the sea studying marine life. In their episode, they will be faced with many hard choices during a hard time that will make them question their morals, all while struggling to keep their sanity.

Dakoda's gender is never stated in the original game, so their vocal presentation - for the most part - is up to interpretation. Though, I'd imagine they typically speak with a nervous, anxious tone. A stutter is a plus, but it is not mandatory. Considering this character primarily wears a diver's helmet, their voice will have a slightly muffled reverb added in post. You do not have to add the effect yourself.

This role requires someone who can do a convincing performance of someone riddled with guilt. Sobbing, hyperventilating, and heavy, labored breathing will also be necessary.

Budgey

Role assigned to: Kat_Mcqueen

Captain Budgey is a fearless sailor with the attitude and voice of a traditional pirate. Or so she wants you to believe. Truth be told, Budgey is only putting on the pirate act for her friends to keep their hopes up during hard times. Despite her best efforts to keep everyone in high spirits, Budgey tends to forget to take her crewmates' feelings into account, which creates a lot of friction and has grave consequences for her later. In fact, she has many skeletons in her closet already, and thus is a very frequent fibber. Though not a very good one, as her stories tend to conflict and raise suspicion.

Budgey, being a budgerigar, I'd imagine naturally speaks with an Australian accent, but only when no one is around to hear it. When her friends are around, however, a thick, exaggerated West Country English accent is necessary, akin to a stereotypical Hollywood pirate. Her voice should be higher-pitched and raspy, but not ear-piercingly shrill. In her pirate persona, she's energetic and confident, but out-of-character, she's despondent and worrisome.

Beatrice

Role assigned to: Maxwell-W

Beatrice was the former captain of the Medora, the ship currently manned by Budgey. She was a daring polar bear that hadn't a single ounce of fear in her blood, and she never once took "no" for an answer. Her rebellious, reckless nature caused her to butt heads with the already-envious Budgey, thus the girls never truly got along. Recently, she has gone missing, and everyone has been rather suspicious of their new captain for being so eager to don Beatrice's hat and wield her sword.

Beatrice's role in the episode will be minor, but crucial. She is a slightly older woman, in her late twenties to early thirties, and speaks with a West Country English accent. Most of her lines will be spoken with bitter resentment towards a particular individual.

Shouting will be required for this role.

Mimi is a very intelligent and rather dorky mole who prefers solid fact over mere speculation and will go to great lengths to uncover the truth. A very supportive friend, especially to her old colleague (and current roommate) Kona, she is always there when someone needs words of encouragement or objective reassurance.

I've imagined Mimi's voice being very similar to Velma from Scooby-Doo. Preferred performance is Kate Micucci's Velma.

Crove

Role assigned to: Rhythm_Song_VA

The embodiment and manifestation of death itself, taking on the form of a bird in a cloak, with a long scythe made of bone. An entity tasked with collecting souls when their time has run out and has no time of his own nor mental space for empathy or reason. Everyone dies at some point, and Crove's task is to ensure no one lives longer than they should, else there could be catastrophic consequences. Admittedly, though, Crove seems rather enthusiastic when on the hunt. Perhaps they enjoy it? Or perhaps they're trying to be optimistic? The world may never know, as no one has lived long enough to get to know them.

Crove is not a canon character in the original game, and their gender is intentionally left ambiguous, so their voice is mostly to your interpretation. Considering they are a bird, I'd imagine a higher, raspier voice, perhaps similar to Keith Szarabajka's Laserbeak.

Old Man Eddy is an explorer and tech expert who lives in a mansion and makes toys and robots for a hobby, one of the latter is his personal butler and security bot, affectionately named "Duocara" because of its ability to rotate its face to change expressions, hence it has "two faces". He knows he hasn't much time left on the planet, and that's why he and his apprentice, the self-proclaimed "Great Finley", take any opportunity they can get to live it up and see the world.

Eddy's voice, I'd imagine, is very akin to David Tennant, especially his Scrooge McDuck voice. An elderly voice with a Scottish accent will do just fine, though.

The old, yet loyal butler and security bot of Old Man Eddy. Duocara is a robot bust on a segway built in the 1970s with the hopes of being one of the first machines to convey emotions. Of course, it can only be happy or sad, but it seems to be intelligent enough to ward away intruders and obey commands and fulfill requests from Eddy.

Duocara, if it were to have a voice, would most likely sound akin to the Software Automatic Mouth or a typical text-to-speech voice, albeit perhaps slightly more natural, yet still robotic and uncanny, (which is why I am recruiting an organic voice for this). Vocal effects are not necessary, just do your best attempt at an uncanny robotic voice.

Marley Russell is a very vengeful soul, having lost everything good in life and is now living solely off of his hatred for a particular individual (and his mysterious augmentations). This particular individual has not only mistreated him after taking him in from the streets, but she has also gotten two of his only friends essentially killed (in the context of the original game, they are both forcefully infected by a potion and turned into this game's equivalent of zombies). On top of this, there's a voice in his head that refuses to shut up, someone Marley calls "the doll person". This voice pressures him into making decisions, most of which he agrees with, but doesn't understand why he wants it done, and finds him rather annoying. Nevertheless, Marley will stop at nothing to ensure that anyone who deserves it suffers and dies.

Marley has an official voice, done by his own creator. When auditioning, try to mimic this the best you can. But also convey the feeling of a very angry individual with nothing to lose.

Willow had a rough life growing up. Her parents stole food from a nearby restaurant and were arrested for doing so, her neighbor became her caretaker and was drafted into the military, and her little brother ran away from her to find their guardian. Now in her early twenties, in her adult life so far, she's gained and lost many friends due to many different circumstances, some being deliberately cut off. Willow, however, doesn't believe in simply letting things go, and everyone must have some kind of karma, be it a reward or punishment.

The popular fan casting for Willow's voice is Melissa Medina or Shiniwa Komaeda. Replicating their voices and performances would be optimal.

The younger Piggy family child. A brave, yet sensitive kid who loves adventure but hates getting hurt. He loves being included in whatever his family is doing and is rather bummed when he can't join them, but when he usually does, he's nervous. This duality annoys his older sister Penny, who would rather not deal with Georgie any day of the week. Despite his wavering courage, Georgie will do whatever it takes to keep his family happy and safe.

Georgie is around ten years old, so his voice should match that of a ten-year-old boy. The best examples I can think for the type of voice I'm looking to replicate is Tails in the Sonic Adventure games or Oliver from Invincible.

The older Piggy sibling. Sassy, witty, and vain, Penny is the perfect example of someone who believes "the older child is best". She does love her family, but her little brother's antics drive her up the wall, and she would rather live by herself. Unfortunately for her, she only just turned seventeen, and she legally cannot move out for another year. Despite her seemingly cold and temperamental exterior, she does mean well, and she would do anything for her family at the end of the day.

The voice I'm imagining for Penny is something along the lines of Candace Flynn; an older and dramatic teenager who is fed up with her brother's antics.

A laboratory monster created from a failed attempt to reincarnate an extinct species of sea sponge using radiation. Created in the midst of a meltdown, the subject affectionately labelled "Sinclair Sponge" grew man-sized arms and legs, a long and spiky tail, and its mouth became visibly ginormous. Now a sentient being with its own thoughts and ambitions, it wishes nothing more than to wreak havoc on every scientist and ensure nature is left alone, telling those guilty of tampering with life, "This is what happens when you try and play God."

Soakuair is capable of speaking but does not speak often. In most cases, it will grunt, growl, and roar. But when it does speak, I would imagine a monstrous, gravelly voice similar to what Tony Todd used to do.

A competitive sister that dabbles in magic, always trying to one-up the other. Phenna (pronounced "FEE-nah") has mastered the magical art of atomic manipulation, being able to create and alter matter with a simple spell, hence why she has two pairs of wings and often fidgets with fireballs. A very sassy and vain individual, Phenna will look for any way to prove she is the better twin sister, even if it means dabbling in dark arts. No one is sure who is the older of the two, as they were both adopted, and their birth certificates are nowhere to be found, but Phenna seems to be the more "mature" of the two.

Phenna's voice, I'd imagine is the slightly deeper of the two. She is snooty and sassy and will condescendingly "educate" her sister if she fails to do magic "properly". A Cockney accent is recommended.

Her sister scolds her for being irresponsible and not taking magic seriously, despite how fun they both find it. Tired of being reprimanded for just being herself, Owell will look for any way to prove she is the better twin sister, even if it means dabbling in dark arts.
