(Closed) Persona 5 Comic Dubs on Fanfic Radio - More characters

Project Overview


Fanfic Radio is a YouTube channel dedicated to showcasing awesome upcoming voice talent and the great fan stories fandoms everywhere bring to the table. We feature everything from audiodramas and comic dubs to interviews with veteran fanfiction writers.

We would like to invite you to join the Fanfic Radio family as we work on this new project. We are partnering with an amazing blogger who translates Japanese comics to English to bring the Persona 5 comics to YouTube. Right now, the artist has ready five short comics (all are pretty hilarious) and we have the video for the first one ready for recordings. 

So who are you casting for?
After taking another look at the comic we are dubbing first and a couple upcoming comics, it came to our realization that we need Sadayo Kawakami, the teacher in Persona 5.


Expectations once cast:

Once cast, we'll provide you with a link to the script of the episode you're in as well as a preview of the comic dub video so you can see for yourself the character's reaction.



We need to make sure to be respectful of your time, as well as other actors' and the writer, so please make sure to follow the deadlines once cast. If you can't, you'll need to inform us as soon as possible to plan accordingly.



The expected turnaround time is currently 7 days as Sadayo has one line in the first episode.



Things to note before auditioning:

1. Please make sure to check the reference for the original voices in the role descriptions below. It's necessary to be as close to the original as possible.



2. Please use a clean, clear recording with as little noise as possible as that's an example of the quality you're going to be using in the actual recordings.

  • Deadline is extended for one more week

    Thank you everyone for your patience. I'm the director on this FFR project and unfortunately the last two months have been back to back health scares + family emergencies and absolute chaos. Things are better now and we're excited to finally release this project. Seeing that I disappeared the last two weeks before the previous deadline was up, we're reopening this for one more week and then finally casting the actors. Thanks again for your patience.   • Deadline was pushed to 5/30 and Igor has been added as a role

    Deadline was pushed for two more weeks because we realized we needed one more role cast: Igor. You know, the creepy old man that starts every Persona game? The man with an epic voice? Yeah, that man. Looking forward to your auditions!!

Sadayo Kawakami is a young teacher in Persona 5. She is a highly competent and professional teacher who never lets her ever-mounting stress and exhaustion show visibly in either of her jobs. She is laid-back and outspoken, once saying "crap" in class. While she initially acts very coldly towards the protagonist, this was because she thought he was a problem student and felt unsafe around him.

She does have an interesting second job that is somewhat spoiled in the comics so please keep that in mind while auditioning. That being said you get to know her second job pretty early on in the game.

About this Role:

Sadako has one line in the first comic we're dubbing but does have a lead role in a following comic. If you get cast for this role, you'll have the option of only recording for this episode or for all episodes Sadako is in. Will up to your schedule.

Igor has the appearance of a bizarre old man, but once he speaks, you realize you're in the presence of someone dangerous and important. In every Persona game, he presents himself as the owner of the Velvet room, a place between dream and reality. He provides insight to the protagonist about his personas, feelings, emotions and progress. In a way, he is a very scary creepy mentor. In the first episode, he has 3 lines.

  • (This is usually how he starts every Persona game. He says it in a way that doesn't feel antagonistic but will make you feel uncomfortable and realize you're about to witness something great) Welcome to the Velvet Room.

  • (Explaining to his mentee) "That power is called a Persona... It is a manifestation of your psyche. A Persona is a facet of your personality that surfaces as you react to external stimuli... You can think of it as a mask that protects you as you brave many hardships."
