Penetrance Academy - ARTISTS NEEDED
Project Overview
Penetrance Academy aims to be an audience interactive visual novel style video game that untangles the topic of teen mental health and examines morality in relation to crime through the lens of progress vs stagnation and control vs chaos.
A group of high school students enter a ‘prestigious high school’ each with the aim to study in specific sectors of the school. However, they all find that the specialty programs were all a hoax to trap them in the school. Once in the academy, the students battle for escape as their different motives collide. A series of tests, drugs, and incentives motivate students to further agitate the circumstance until some fall to the extremes. How will this year’s class react? Who will be forgiven and who will fall to a most gruesome fate? Only the audience can decide.
*lightly inspired by Danganronpa in some regards, at least at the beginning, and then it’ll diverge in many regards
*long term project. Please be able to commit. I estimate the project will run for about half a year once all roles are cast, but that time frame may shift depending on popularity.

Top Ranked Animal Caretaker. He is extremely paranoid and thinks everyone is out to get him. He came to the Academy for revenge because of rumors of the Academy doing drug trials on animals. He never would have guessed they would trap him here, though. The only creatures he feels comfortable around are animals, and locked in the academy, he went a little bit crazy, since he has a tendency to accuse others of trying to hurt him.

Aris is the top ranked test-taker. He is a smart boy who is used to getting his way. He over-analyzes tests. He’s from a prestigious family, but unlike the others from well off families, he isn’t afraid of sharing that. His greatest weakness is hesitating and pausing too long, since he is often lost in thought.

Enola is the top ranked Animator. prefers to be alone. She’s quiet and awkward. She gives off this energy of knowing things she shouldn't, which makes her come off suspicious. She prefers to quietly observe than to interact. Therefore, she finds friends in her animations, believing she’s a burden on everyone else

Camille is sweet and extroverted and hyper. As the Top-Ranked Blogger, she loves to capture life’s most beautiful moments. She contrasts with Leon because she sees the positive in everything, she is extremely optimistic. She loves to talk about herself, but not overly personally and not too much. As the game goes on, she’ll be found to be more shy, retreating to her camera. Because of her light attitude, she comes off flirtier than she means to

Victoria is the Top Ranked Female Volleyball Player. She is a competitive go-getter type, but she won’t break her morals and go too far, though she gives off the impression of such. When dealing with emotions, or conflict, she retreats into the exercise room, preferring physical exertion to emotions.As a child, her fame in volleyball led to many people who wanted her attention, even paying her for it. She became the breadwinner of the family. She was always told to never feel anything, but she does anyway. She only wants to prove she is worthy

Nova is the Top Ranked InterDisciplinarian. She loves order and unity. She’s also kinda nosy. She has a strict routine every single day. She’s also obsessed with zodiac signs, tests, etc. Anything for her to have a clearer picture of the people around her.

Romeo is the Top Ranked Player presents as awkward and cute. But he is extremely fake and judgemental of others.There is constant debate over what his title means. He claims it means top ranked team player, but in actuality it means a romantic player. He comes from a prestigious family who raised him to constantly network and connect, which is why he comes off as a flaker.

Harmony is the Top- Ranked Investigator. She can easily find out information about anyone and in her free time she reads on a variety of subjects. She does not understand that not everyone is like this, however. When she speaks, she is timid and insecure, and she follows almost everything with ‘I’m not sure’ or ‘Ignore what I just said’ or ‘I’m probably wrong’ or ‘I think’

True to his name, Dantanian has many faces. Dan for short. He acts differently with everyone and is very sketchy with his motives. He never backs down from a debate, even when it makes him seem like the bad guy. He’s constantly tense with Romeo as Romeo tries to restrain himself.

Sophrona is the Top Ranked Enforcer. She also has an arc centered around control.When the game starts, Sophrona is intent to follow all the rules perfectly and to get everyone to follow them as well. She is more dedicated to the laws than the students, which leads her to be more isolated. Unlike the other rule followers, she insists on maintaining her loyalty to the law

Florence is the top ranked Cuddle therapist but he is ashamed of his talent. He’s like Victoria’s opposite when it comes to his relationship with his gender. He introduces himself as Ford and tries to emphasize his manliness because inside, he’s a crybaby, and responds to his traumas by falling apart instead of getting stronger.

Willow is the top ranked Web Developer. She’s very intense and very curt. She believes in the core mission of progress, even if she doesn’t know much biological science. She is the definition of a student whose life has been overcome with academics losing her life and her spark and she defines her worth by how far she can push the boundaries of her field, as well as others.

Masala has a very tight connection to her talent, the top ranked flavorist. She is the chef of the group and she spices things up both literally and figuratively. She’s a tad two sided because if she gets bored, she will stir up some drama, just because, however.

Kazoo is the top ranked Toymaker. He is very childish, and has a very youthish appearance and voice. He appears naive and doesn’t always seem to know what’s going on. He loves trying to get others to play with him. He uses broken up English and grammar, perhaps because he was unable to gain access to much schooling. His values center around family.

Ivan:
Ivan is the Top Ranked Religious Orator. He has a very close relationship with his godHe gives off the ‘holier than thou’ mindset and resorts to praying in every circumstance. He’s actually an experienced killer. His ‘religion’ sounds more and more like a cult as the story progresses.

Trixie is the top ranked. . .test subject? She is introduced at the very end so it’ll probably be a few months until her part, and even then it’ll be very small. Trixie is a very sweet, wide-eyed terror. She doesn't want to abandon her best friends, but does want to escape the school. She is implied to have some mental disorder, exactly what is a spoiler (and also I’m still in the process of researching and I want to make sure I can write this correctly)

X is the top ranked Conduit. They feel insecure at first because they don’t understand their assigned talent and they don’t understand their school and how they were accepted into Penetrance academy.
