Paws & Claws: PILOT
Project Overview
Hello! Here is Lemonpie, the creator of Paws & Claws (the name is still being discussed), and I am finally putting together the idea of creating my own animated indie series, and for that, I need YOU! The idea is an series about “cat villagers”, with unique and relatable characters. Their world will have technologies and most things we have nowadays, but with a cozy vibe.
The story follows the protagonist, Fechin, a black cat in his journey as he learns to get along with his social anxiety, depression, struggles, socializing and finding the light at the end of the tunnel. He meets Hazel and River, two cats that learn how to deal with him and become his best friends.
The series is about self-acceptance, dealing with your problems and living a happy life, but don't judge the book by cover! Comedy, romance and other genres will get included in some episodes.
It'll include other themes as well, like some adventure, but for now, the rough idea is this.
The pilot script is 91% finished and it'll probably be around 10 minutes long.
When the talents will be picked?
I will view every single submission as soon as I can, but the actual roles will be officially out and distributed 07/01/2027 (1 week after the deadline)
What I do if I get the role?
I'll message you through CCC and ask your e-mail for contacting you, send the docs and script you'll need (depending on role) and the agreement contract. It's nothing fancy, just to keep things in check.
I can extend the deadline a bit if needed as well, and since this is no professional project, don't feel like a single mistake can ruin everything. If a mistake occurs, we will stop, fix it, and keep going forward.
I will guide you through the process and I need to say I'm new at this so forgive me for any mistakes, I'll do my best!
When and how we will start working?
The date the production will start is not defined yet because I will talk to the whole team before that. Same for how we will work, it'll be adapted to everyone, but mainly, I will give you the script and list of what you should do according to your role (with your consent ofc) and I am still finding a way to do this but there will be a team chat were general updates will be posted (ex: production starts today!) and other chats divided into sections (ex. Visual Art Chat, Audio and VA's Chat..) and that's all folks!

Voice Actor
In this role, you'll voice the protagonist of the series! Fechin is an anthropomorphic black cat that is very prickly and cold, yet has a sensitive side. I'll not add the lore for now so this won't stay loong and boring.
Fun fact: his name means "little crow" which remits to his jet black fur.

Hey! In this role, you'll voice our deuteragonist! She's a strong woman, and is very protective towards her friends. She's a bit... Explosive sometimes hehe. (She reminds me of Diana Foxington!)

Animator
Background artist! Here is your place! Since the show goes for a cozy, village vibes you can use soft and warm colors, and if you think that fits the scene, you can add some tweening and animate some leaves, for example! The idea is animate the show in twos, maybe thirds, so we're going for the choppy look. I don't know what to say anymore. Just make the backgrounds. It's simple.

Well- You'll animate! (honestly I think this is my favorite role since I am an animator hehe) The show is going to be animated in twos or thirds, so we are going for the choppy look! (That is going to be decided after talents are picked with consent from the majority of artists) You shall be capable of animating anthropomorphic felines and everyday scenarios. (you will have help from other animators and background artists too)

You'll voice one- if not two, three... side characters. Without them the world will feel actually boring and lifeless, and that's why we need you! Plus, your voice can be any: a grandma to a little kiddo.

You'll make the show feel like a show, and not just for the eyes, but for the ears! Happy, sad, depends on the mood. One of my favorite roles! We'll bring you a sneak-a-peek of a dialogue, a storyboard, or maybe even the script and you'll do the rest!

You'll do the sketch- put the fertilizer on little seed that is our show. Then, the animators will come and grow it up to a tree! Truly a cool role, simple, fun and doesn't takes as much time as animation. I personally enjoy it a lot!

Audio Engineer
Well, you're the audio engineer! Those are some of your tasks: clean up the voice files and mix them together, removing background hums, fan noises, and microphone hiss from home recordings, etc.
You'll clean the windows of audio so everyone can see better through them and appreciate that beautiful view.
Doesn't sounds important, but my day would be ruined if I wanted to see a bird through my window and didn't identify the species because the window was blurred. (okay, this sounds awkward but it is true!)
