Passing Mountains Studios: ROUND 6
Project Overview
DISCLAIMER: I am re-upping the deadline weekly to make it more visible to those applying to projects. If you have seen this project before, that is why.
Our first project has been chosen! Me and a team of writers are working hard to get things done as far as the script goes and we are starting on some concept art. That being said, we still need plenty of animators and a couple of artist roles filled!
ABOUT ME
Hello! I am Eli Robinson, I'm 17, and I am extremely passionate about storytelling. One problem: I'm 17. I can't start any official company of any kind, especially in the small town where I live. However, I still want my stories told somehow. I figured the most convenient way to do that, at least for me, is to start a small online animation studio (emphasis on small). I have no plans for this to be any more than the bare necessities; some artists, some animators, some writers and that is it.
ABOUT THE STUDIO
This studio is going to be a BIG commitment, so make sure to figure out whether you can handle it (trust me, I get it if you can't). It is for this reason that this next thing is very difficult for me to say: it is very unlikely this will EVER be a paid project. Yes, I understand the magnitude of that ask and I feel stupid even asking it. If you fully laugh this off I definitely understand.
Meetings and such will be held over a discord server which you will be invited to if you make the "auditions." There will be an initial production meeting to introduce ourselves and our roles in the studio, then a period of the time where the writers and I will be working on a script. As the writing process begins we will start rolling out concept art for characters and near the end of writing we will send out a casting call for some voice actors. After we get our roles cast, we will have a script reading which everyone will (optionally) be present for. As line recording begins we will start on background art and keyframes and when the lines roll in we will start final animations. Total production time is unknown but meetings will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays (as those are the days I have off school).
I have a group of writers at this point and work has started on writing our first shortfilm, creating concept art, etc. We still have many open roles, however! We could really use some animators and many many more artists.
All I'm looking for is a group of people who are also passionate about telling stories to help me tell mine.

I am looking for 2 or 3 writers to help me bring my ideas to life. There we be regular (probably weekly) meetings where we will talk about whatever idea we decide on.
For your application send a link to a small snippet of a screenplay or short story you have written.

As head animator, you will be leading the animators and doing some animation of your own. You will also be assembling the backgrounds and inked animations together. The head artist and yourself will likely be working very closely together.
For your application, send a small snippet of an animation you have made if you have one. If not, send a photo which best represents your art style.

There will be 4 animators. You will be filling the frames between the storyboard artist's shots. Your responsibilities will be to ink and color your frames.
For your application send me a small snippet of an animation of yours if you have one. If not, send me a photo which best represents your art style.

As head artist, you will be coordinating the artists helping them translate my vision into art. There is a high likelihood you will also need to fill the role of one of the artists. This will be a very heavy workload.
For your application, I need a photo which represents your art style and which role you would be willing to fill (storyboard artist, background artist, or concept artist) if need be.

As a concept artist your responsibilities will include drawing character art for the characters the writers and I come up with. When we begin animating, your responsibilities as storyboard artist will take over and you will have to translate my garbled mess of a storyboard into actual frames. There is a possibility of you filling only one of these roles as the head artist may or may not choose to also be a storyboard or concept artist.
For your application please send in a photo which best represents your art style (preferably of some kind of character).

As a background artist, your responsibility will be to ink and render all the backgrounds we use. There is a possibility of this being a split workload if we get enough applications for this role.
For your application, please send a photo which best represents your art style (preferably a landscape).

This role won't come in until post production, but it will be a pretty heavy workload. I will expect you to edit all the VA's lines and add sound effects where needed.
For your application, send me a small snippet of audio you have worked on with some kind of sound effect in it.
