Pokemon Fan Film: Princess Smoliv and the Five Shiny Knights
Project Overview
Princess Smoliv and the Five Shiny Knights (working title) is a Pokémon fan film that will be released on YouTube. The project combines a shiny-only Pokémon Violet playthrough with a fully voice-acted original story. The shiny Pokémon caught during the run will become characters within the film, and events that occur during gameplay may influence how the story develops.
The story follows Princess Smoliv, a young royal determined to prove to Queen Tsareena that she is worthy of inheriting the throne. To do so, she must travel across Paldea, gather five exceptional knights, and defeat the members of the royal branch families who believe neither of the Queen’s daughters is fit to rule. Her journey will eventually culminate in a final confrontation with her older sister and greatest rival, Princess Lilligant.
This is currently an unpaid fan project. Applicants must be fifteen years of age or older.
All roles have now been posted, but I hope to make more similar projects in the future so if no one catches your eye this time, you can always come back later!
Voice-Acting Information
Voice actors are encouraged, but not required, to audition for multiple Pokémon within the same evolutionary line.
There are no specific equipment requirements as long as you can provide a clean recording with minimal background noise, echo, or distortion.
Lead roles: Several lines, though the exact amount varies between characters and evolutionary stages.
Supporting roles: At least five lines, with the possibility of more depending on the character.
Side characters: Approximately one to three lines.
Artist Information
Artists may apply for multiple Pokémon, but we would prefer for each stage within an evolutionary line to be drawn by a different artist.
Any portfolio format is accepted, though examples of Pokémon or similar creature artwork are strongly preferred.
The Pokémon characters may wear clothing and accessories as part of their designs.
Lead roles: Approximately two to three finished character images.
Supporting roles: Approximately one to three finished character images.
Side characters: One finished character image.
Artists will be credited in the finished film and its description and may post their completed work publicly, include it in portfolios, and share their creation process.
This is an unofficial fan project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nintendo, Game Freak, The Pokémon Company, or any of their affiliates.
A lead role- Princess Smoliv is the starting version of our main character. She is sweet, determined, and typically a happy person. Her voice should be high pitched, feminine, and excitable but not overly childish.

Hey! I'm Smoliv, will you join me on my journey?
Oh no, he's way stronger than I thought!
A lead role- Princess Dolliv is the first evolution of our main character. She is still happy and youthful, but she has learned that her journey isn’t going to be as easy as she thought. Her voice should be a little less upbeat compared to her younger version.
- english
- female teen
There's no need to fight, you're both equally strong.
I'll take you on!
A lead role- Princess Arboliva is the final evolution of our main character. The princess isn't finished with her journey yet, but she has experienced a lot and grown from it. She is a lot more mature now and should have a deeper, smoother, and calmer voice compared to when she was younger.

- female young adult
I see the time has come for us to face each other.
Gallade, be careful!
A lead role- Princess Smoliv's first knight and childhood friend. When she approaches him to accompany her, Ralts is nervous and reluctant to go. However, wanting to make sure she stays safe, he overcomes his fear and goes anyway. He should sound young, nervous, and soft.
- english
- male child
Are you sure you want me for this? There are way stronger pokemon than me...
(Internally) I can't fight Teddiursa! But... I have to protect the princess.
A lead role- After facing some strong opponents, Kirlia is starting to gain both strength and confidence but it's clear that not all of his teammates appreciate him being in charge, questioning his strength and making him wonder if he really is good enough to protect the princess. He should sound a bit older, but still young with a more stable, less anxious voice.
- english
- male teen
(Internally) Am I really strong enough to protect her?
Will you two stop fighting? There are real threats to deal with.
A lead role- Gallade has finally stopped doubting himself and assumed the role of leader of the knights. He knows he is strong enough to protect her, but not alone. He has taken on a sort of mentor role for the other knights. His voice should be strong, heroic, adult, and smooth.
- english
- male adult
We'll take care of them, princess.
I know it's hard, but you need to try. You're the only one who can do this.
A lead role- Carcadet is one of Princess Smoliv's knights. He is fiery, explosive, and reckless with a tendency to jump into fights without planning or checking if everyone is ready which tends to irritate others. His voice should be young, bright, and loud.
- english
- male child
Who cares, we can take him!
(teasing) What, are you scared or something?
A lead role- After rushing into a difficult battle on his own, Ceruledge isn't the same as he once was. He is quiet, reserved, and cautious. He still fights to protect the princess, but keeps his distance from the other knights. His voice should be soft and quiet.
- english
- male adult
Mmm...
Alright.
A lead role- Rookidee is one of Princess Smoliv's knights. He is loud, annoying, and confident. He is fully sure that he is the best at everything and is constantly fighting with and making fun of Nymble. His voice should be smug and annoying.
- english
- male child
Mmm... are you sure you're even strong enough to be part of the team?
That battle was so sloppy I could've done better by myself.
A lead role- Corvisquire has only gotten more annoying with experience. He provokes Axew and Nymble constantly. He has also started provoking people on other teams now though. His voice should be annoying and smug but older than Rookidee.
- english
- male teen
Well you weren't very impressive at all, were you?
I guess he isn't totally useless.
A lead role- Corviknight has finally started to work somewhat well with the team, but all his provocation has simply shifted to their rivals. His voice is mostly the same as when he was younger, smug and annoying, but older and capable of being sincere.
- english
- male adult
So you're supposed to be the strongest? We'll see about that.
Hey, you tried your hardest. You didn't do well, but you can always try again.
A lead role- Axew is one of Princess Smoliv's knights. He is small but very, very angry. He didn't want to join the team and was practically forced to. He is rude to everyone and frequently yelling. His voice should be young but constantly irritated.
- english
- male child
I'm not going with you!
RAAAAHHHH!
A lead role- Fraxure is still very angry, but he doesn't start yelling unless provoked. He is warming up to Dolliv, but not the others. He is usually quietly angry. Despite being difficult to work with though, he is the strongest of the group. His voice should be aggressive and rough but not fully mature yet.
- english
- male teen
The hell did you just say?
Just get in there already!
A lead role- Fraxure has finally matured, but he is no less angry. Haxorous is strong and now quietly angry but his anger is mostly directed at his opponents. He doesn't yell, but there should be underlying irritation every time he speaks.
- english
- male adult
They were barely worth fighting.
(reluctantly) You want to be friends with me? Fine...
A lead role- Nymble is one of Princess Smoliv's knights. When he joins, he is the weakest member of the team. That coupled with Rookidee always being rude to him have made him determined to prove himself. His voice should be high pitched and often irritated.
- english
- male child
Will you leave me alone!
I'll protect you, Princess!
A lead role- Now that he is finally stronger, Lokix is even more devoted to the princess. He's the first to listen to her orders and the first to fight for her. He is also enjoying finally being stronger than Corvisquire, at least until he evolves into Corviknight. His voice should be warm and friendly unless he is talking to Corvisquire.
- english
- male adult
Don't let that guy get to you, we can handle him together.
Do you ever stop talking!?
A larger supporting role- Princess Lilligant is Princess Smoliv's older sister and rival on a similar journey to prove herself. Princess Lilligant is friendly and gentle. She encourages her younger sister while also not believing that Smoliv could actually beat her. Her voice should be mature, mid-high pitched, and usually calm.
- english
- female young adult
How has your journey been going? Shall we put it to the test?
(Internally) Perhaps I underestimated that Ralts.
A larger supporting role- Pawmi is one of Princess Lilligant's knights. He is loyal to his princess, but mostly just here to have fun. His voice should be high pitched and energetic.
- english
- male child
Hey, I'm Pawmi!
We'll defeat them, Princess!
A larger supporting role- Pawmi has grown up into Pawmo. He is still a happy, cute, energetic guy but he is concerned about Meowscarada so he tries to keep the mood light during fights although it often goes unappreciated. His voice should be energetic but more mature than Pawmi.
- english
- male teen
Calm down, dude! It's not that serious.
That was fun! Thanks for the battle.
A larger supporting role- Pawmo has grown up into Pawmot. He is still a happy, cute, energetic guy and he is still concerned about Meowscarada so he keeps trying to keep the mood light during fights although it still often goes unappreciated. His voice should be energetic but more mature than Pawmo.
- english
- male adult
Well, we gave it our best shot.
No need to be so angry, calm down!
A larger supporting role- Sprigatito is a good friend of Ralts and Princess Smoliv. He always expected that Smoliv would ask him to go with her when she started her journey, but she asked Ralts instead. Feeling disappointed, Sprigatito accepted Lilligant's offer to go with her instead. His voice should be cute, high pitched, and happy.
- english
- male child
Sure, I guess I'll go with you!
Let's have a fun battle!
(Internally) She didn't even ask me...
A larger supporting role- After evolving from Sprigatito, Floragato is still enjoying journeying with Princess Lilligant, but as Smoliv and Kirlia keep beating them he is starting to get less friendly and more competitive. His voice should sound more mature and still friendly but slightly forced.
- english
- male teen
I won't lose this time!
Oh... it's nice to see you two again.
A larger supporting role- Meowscarada is tired of losing to Arboliva and her knights. He has stopped trying to be friendly with his old friends and is instead now openly competitive and hostile, resenting her and Gallade for going together without him. His voice should still sound impressive and energetic but now angry.
- english
- male young adult
You're regretting it now, aren't you? You wish you picked me!
Shut it, Pawmot! Just get out of my way!
A smaller supporting role- Queen Tsareena is the mother of Princess Lilligant and Princess Smoliv. She is testing her children to see which of them is worthy of inheriting her throne. Her voice should be stable, regal, and impressive.
- english
- female adult
I see you think you're finally ready?
Find someone to take with you, this won't be easy.
A smaller supporting role- Scizor is the first and weakest of the princess's cousins. He isn't particularly interested in trying to get the throne from Smoliv, instead encouraging her to turn back because he doesn't believe she is ready. His voice should be deep and both stern and gentle at times.
- english
- male adult
I'm warning you now, turn back. You aren't ready for this.
Did you learn nothing from the first time you challenged me?
A side role- Teddiursa is Scizor's retainer. She is determined and loyal. Her voice should be young and smug as she is very proud of serving Scizor.
- english
- female child
I'll take you down for Lord Scizor!
A smaller supporting role- Trevanant is the second of the princess's cousins. He comes off as rude and critical but is actually cheering for her. His voice should be unique and cold.
- english
- male adult
What a measly team you have, they're no match for Sudowoodo.
You may have defeated me, but those two can't take on Ampharos.
A side role- Sudowoodo is Trevanant's retainer. He is strange and slightly confused but listens to Trevanant's orders. His voice should be strange and slow.
- english
- male adult
What? You want me to fight them? Now? Okay.
A smaller supporting role- Ampharos is the third of the princess's cousins. Her personality is still being developed, but her voice should be energetic and higher pitched but not childish. She will not have unique lines until her personality is finalized so say anything at all.

This is a large unpaid role. I expect the finished movie to be two hours or longer, so I completely understand that most editors will not have the time to volunteer for the full project. I am posting this role simply to see whether anyone genuinely likes the concept and might be interested.
The movie will combine Pokémon Violet gameplay with fully voice-acted story scenes using static character artwork. Footage, artwork, voice files, and editing notes will be organized as clearly as possible.
Even if you are unable to apply, I would greatly appreciate any brief advice about workflow, organization, pacing, audio, or editing a project of this size, as I am a fairly inexperienced editor.
