OUT Audio Drama (Composer & Music Design)

OUT Audio Drama (Composer & Music Design)

Project Overview

Introduction:

This is the final casting call for the Out of Time (OUT) Audio Drama (formerly, MOET). OUT is a sci-fi, coming of age story that follows the misadventures of a 21st century teen named Benjamin, two Londoners from the 1870s named Nicodemus and Clementine, and a gentle alien warlord named Lequwyn.

This casting call is solely looking for a composer to create 4 loopable, short bgm tracks + 1 theme song.

Timeline:

Here is the ideal timeline for this project:

  • June 12, 2024 - Cast Composer

  • August 18, 2024 - Finalize 4 tracks + theme

  • August - September - Release Episode 1

Role Details:

  • Auditions will only be open for a month.

  • Please note: As I'm just one person, the timeline may fluctuate as I figure out the production schedule. I will do my upmost however to keep open communications with everyone so you know where this project stands.

  • Payment will be sent via PayPal or Ko-Fi, whatever is agreed upon. Payment is a flat rate per bgm track and length of track. Please note: I don't have a large budget, and this is about as much as I can offer, but am willing to talk on rates as needed.

  • Example: If a bgm is ~25-30 seconds, pay would be ~$60. If the track is 1 minute, pay would be ~$120. etc.

  • I will primarily communicate via Discord, however if email conversation is necessary, that is fine.

  • Submissions in .wav with both the full track and the stems will be needed.

Story Summary:

Benjamin Cinturón thought his worst problem was trying to one-up his siblings and figuring out which university to go through. However, when aliens invade Earth chasing his Physics professor - who, surprise, is an alien - Benjamin is thrown into a time traveling race to save the life of a planet long enough for it to chose its next ruler. When things become grim, and it feels like there is no one there to help, he is lucky to find the help of newfound friends Nicodemus, Clementine, and Lequwyn along the way.

Musician - Composer / Music Design
open
Paid: Flat Rate 60 USD

For this role, I'm looking for a composer with knowledge of indie / alternative rock, as well as cinematic bgm to create short, loopable bgm to be played in various scenes. Most scenes will not have bgm, but the few that do, I'd like to have nice clips to emphasize the dialogue and the story. I would also like to develop the Audio Drama's theme song which may span over 1 minute (pay here can be negotiated as seen fit).

For the bgm tracks, they will only need to be between ~25 - 30 seconds and I am only looking for 4.

  1.  A neutral, calm track

  2. A romantic or whimsical type track

  3. A sad or emotional type track

  4. A dramatic track to be used during a fight scene

I can offer payment per track per seconds, with $60 for 25-30 seconds of music being my base metric. If you have any questions on that please don't hesitate to ask.

These tracks should also have notes, if not reflect, the melody of the main theme in some capacity. Please link a portfolio or sample of your work to best showcase the music you create.
