This is a concept album and script for an English musical adaptation of Ouran Highschool Host Club. All music is original and written specifically for this project. The recordings of this project will be used to create a full-length audio musical (with a full script) to be uploaded to Youtube and a condensed, album version to be put on streaming platforms (such as Spotify and Apple Music) titled "The Ouran Concept Album." Every contribution to the album will be credited as desired by each cast member.

Recording schedule: I wanted to add some more info regarding the recording process that I feel is important for everyone to be aware of.
Songs will be learned and recorded one at a time and in chronological order of the musical. This is not necessarily a hard and fast rule as there will be some songs that do not require ensemble members or certain leads. But, generally speaking, I would like to tackle each song with dedication and one at a time. On this note, I expect the recording process to take at least a month if not longer. There are about 20 songs in the full musical. Most of them are pretty straightforward to learn, however, there are some trickier ones.
Due to the size and nature of this project, I do not have a deadline to receive your final recordings by. I only ask that you are consistent and provide recordings in line with whatever schedule we work out (this will be on a case-by-case basis for each cast member). I understand this is an unpaid project so I don't want this to be overwhelming or laborious for anybody and I want to be considerate of everybody's individual schedules and commitments.
Notes:
You do not have to be able to read music to audition or be cast, only willing to take the time to learn new songs by ear. I also am more than happy to spend time over video call working individually with anyone who needs it.
I would like to work with everybody via voice or video call and go over songs and key information. I would like some of these calls to be in group settings so we can all become familiar with each other. There will be at least (but likely only) one mandatory voice (video optional) call where we read through the entire script. Additionally, I will set aside time to work with individuals when I feel we need to work one-on-one.
This project is unpaid. However, in the event it generates profit once published, the payment terms will be re-negotiated and profits will be evenly distributed to each cast member based on the amount of work performed.
I do not have a preference for the type of microphone or audio processor you use to record with, I only care that the audio is clean and free from background noise.
All audio will need to be delivered unedited in .wav format.
Auditioning for a specific character does not mean I won't consider you for another character. It is likely towards the end of the audition window I will ask some people to submit additional audition material (a "callback," so to speak)
Auditioning:
Please submit all singing auditions without a backing track. I want to hear what your raw, unedited audio sounds like. I would prefer it if you record the audition singing along to a track through headphones, but I do not wish to hear that audio added in to the recording.
You may record as many takes of the lines as you want to.
