[Original 2D/3D Animation] Submersed Short Film - ANIMATION/PRODUCTION ROLES NEEDED
Project Overview
If you don't know about us, we're a 7 minute hybrid short film, aiming for release in May, and going to festivals. The story follows a crew of three, Audre, Jean-Luc, and George, three astrobiologists who venture through the deep seas of an alien planet, who soon realize they're in for more than they anticipated. We're doing 2D Character animation, 3D Environments and Creatures. For all our progress thus far, please take a look at our presentation below!

Audre is a young (25-35) astrobiologist from South Africa, who was recently promoted to be the leader of the expedition on AGITHA I. She is a capable, sharp, and book-smart woman, who stays dedicated to the mission. Her passion for it quickly blinds her to the truth and makes her on edge, as this is her first mission to prove herself.

Too bad it’s not on the mission log.
--The hull creaks like old wood. The lights flicker. All loose items slide towards the back, the sub almost completely vertical. Just before the three pass out from the g-forces, the sub stabilizes, the alarms cease. The three catch their breath.--
Is Everyone okay?
--Audre looks at the location beacon panel from earlier, now completely busted in. She grows frustrated at the broken panel and slams her fist down. She turns to Jean-Luc, who is pathetically under his desk, fixing his radio.--
[Frustrated]
I should’ve never listened to you! We should’ve stayed on course.
We are looking for strong animators who are comfortable with characters. Can either apply for just rough, or rough and clean up animation.
-Must be able to stay on model, referencing pose sheets, expression sheets, hand sheets and turn arounds
-Must have a demo reel.
-Must be able to work from January to May, come to team meetings, and implement feedback from the Animation Lead.

We're looking for people who have experience with creature rigging, to come on board immediately to help. We need these finalized before 3D creature animation begins. There is a total of two more creatures that need rigs

Will be responsible for final mix of audio! Must be proficient in voice, music, and Sound effects mixing!
Any software is good.

We're looking for someone who is comfortable with previs to start immediately. As we have our assets coming together, we need someone to block out camera movements, character proxies, and creature proxies based on the animatic. You can also transition afterwards into animation, if you are experienced with that. -Must be willing to start immediately, some time in December, to February, unless you plan to stay for 3D animation. -Must be willing to come to team meetings to get feedback about previs and ask questions.

We're looking for someone who is experienced in either the 3D pipeline or the 2D. You will work the other half of what the producer is doing. This includes:
-Sitting in the 3D meetings (3D modeling and 3D creature animation) and recording, taking notes, and then creating task lists for the team.
-OR Sitting in the 2D meetings (Matte painting/Texture artists, and 2D character animation(, and recording, taking notes, and then creating task lists for the team.
-Must also come to a weekly sunday meeting with the whole team - all departments.
-Must be comfortable reaching out to people to join the project
-Must be comfortable doing mid week check ins
-Must have experience with Google Drive
-Must be able to come to most if not all the meetings you're in charge of taking notes for.
-Must be able to work with the Social media Manager
-Must have experience with gantt charts and scheduling
-Willing to help submit to festivals in May

We are looking for someone who has illustrative experience, working in a more painted style, and is able to start in January, for our proof of concept. Then, transition to the rest of production doing matte paintings. We will need matte paintings for both interior (hard surface, metals, screens), and exteriors (nature, creatures, ocean, flora).
-Must have own drawing software
-Must be able to come to weekend meetings for feedback.

We're looking for people who are comfortable painting over props and using substance painter. All the props will be projected onto 3D models, but we will need some to have texture work done in Substance painter.
