Project Overview

Hello, welcome to my fan made English Fandub project for "of the Devil" - a super stylish Visual Novel adventure game created by the talented folks of Nth Circle Studios, with huge inspirations from Danganronpa and Ace Attorney.

I fell in love with the game from the moment I started it and I would love to bring the game to life with a team of voice actors.

Some important things to keep note of:

  1. This is a call for Episodes 0 and 1. Episode 2 has also been released but casting for it will be made after we make significant progress on Episodes 0 and 1. There are 5 episodes planned in total (excluding 0).

  2. This is going to be a long game. Longer still with the 3 episodes that are yet to be released. Please only apply if you can commit to a longer project, and if you are willing to return if your character appears again in the future.

  3. This game contains various triggering and sensitive topics - swearing, gore, blood, murder and more. Please only audition if you are okay with this and are of an appropriate age (16 or above).

  4. The lead character, Morgan, will have a ton of voice lines, as her thoughts will be narrated as well.

  5. Full disclosure - there is another character, Qasim London, that doesn't appear in the list. It is because he will be voiced by me. I am also an aspiring Voice Actor and will portray him to the best of my abilities. This is not set in stone, however. If anything arises or I feel like my work is not up to par, I will hold a recast for him.

  6. Accents are not mandatory (for now). The action takes place in a super futuristic cyberpunk world. Who knows for sure how the people talk in the future? Feel free to take your own spin on the characters.

  7. Important: No overexaggerated takes, please. At the end of the day, these characters are people, not caricatures. I would like to stick to a realistic take of the game's story and characters.

  8. Audio quality does not need to be perfect, but minimal background noise is much appreciated.

  9. Don't mind the CCC deadline, I'll keep the castings open for as long as it is needed.

  10. The finished product will be posted on YouTube when finished.

  11. This will be the first project I take on, but I am determined to see it through.

  12. Important: Please put your Discord name in the description of your take, in case there's a follow-up required. A Discord server may be created if there is a lot of people applying for this project.

  13. Important: Absolutely no AI work will be accepted. Please refrain from using it.

    Hello again, everyone! I honestly did not expect to get this much attention on the project, but I thank each and everyone of you for taking the time to audition. It’s going to be a big challenge to pick people out, as we have had many amazing submissions. Even if you don’t get picked this time around, there are still more episodes to come, so your time to shine may just be waiting for a little bit longer.

    Good news, however, I have created a Discord server for anybody who is interested in the future of this project. It is a little bare-bones at the moment, but we will build upon it together. We will announce the cast there once we have made our decisions, so it's an extra incentive for you to join! We will also announce it here, of course.

  • A little more details on specific characters

    Hello everyone! First of all, I want to thank each and every one of you for your submissions. I did not expect this project to have this much attention, but I am glad that it did. I have enjoyed listening to all of your submissions, but because of it I have become aware of some mistakes on my part, which I want to address below.

    Number 1, Farah Reyes. Initially, I imagined her with a British accent for.. reasons.. and I now realise that it may not fit her character that well. I will lean more into her last name and hot-headed personality and will modify her description appropriately to showcase that she should have an american/latin-american accent. I apologize to everyone who submitted lines for her, but please feel free to do a retake and resubmit if you can.

    Number 2, Morgan. I noticed a lot of people keep her character mainly emotionless throughout the audition, which made me realise I did not give her the details and direction she should have had. The game hides the fact that she is actually a psychopath and a killer, until like 85% in Episode 0. She needs to have more of a "generic" protagonist voice (tho it pains me to just call it that) before the reveal. She has studied movies and other media her entire life to know how to behave and act as a human, so she would be good at faking emotions. Please feel free to resubmit if you feel it is necessary.

    Number 3, Francois. A little edit to the direction of the last line, to make sure that the proper french pronunciation is used.

She is best described as a Psychopath. I feel a voice best suited to her would be someone who can talk in a believable monotone, almost bored voice while also being able to act in an expressive manner when talking to other people. An american accent is preferred.

Important edit to note - Her psychopathic personality is a surprise reveal. She needs to sound like a "normal" protagonist would, as she has studied how to speak and act with other people extensively, and only show her monotone, bored side in her thoughts and to very specific characters.

Please keep in mind - As she is the lead she will have a lot of voice lines. I plan for her thoughts to also be voiced.

Wiki Description - On the surface, Morgan is charming, persuasive, and expressive, though cynical and snarky to people she dislikes. A gambler at heart, she feels most alive when taking huge risks, both inside and outside the courtroom. However, all of this is a performance to hide her inner self — a cold misanthrope disgusted by other humans. That said, she hates herself more than anyone else, describing herself as an inhuman monster with the image of a woman formed around it.

Reyes is the Bad Cop of the story. She believes in Justice and doing things the right way, often acting without thinking. She is very distrustful of Morgan, almost hateful, but has a lot of respect for her mentor.

I imagine her with a medium-low voice, almost tomboy-ish, based on her looks and behavior. I also pictured her with an American or slight Latino-American accent, but you can take whatever spin on her voice you'd prefer.

Important EDIT to note - Originally, I sought a British accent for her. I now realise that it doesn't really fit her character all that well and have changed the accent description to an American or a slight Latino-American one. Apologies for the inconvenience.


Wiki Description - Reyes is eager to prove her worth as a detective – too eager, in fact. Her overconfidence leads her to make sloppy mistakes and brave assumptions. Her efforts to impress others hide a more nerdy side: having an encyclopedic knowledge about sports cars and automotive history, collecting tacky figurines, and so on.
Reyes often acts with a short fuse, with little patience for things that interfere with her work, but is markedly more friendly when she's drunk — giggly and prone to saying every stupid thing that comes to mind.

Emma Rockford is the main rival of the story, but not necessarily an antagonist. She always appears tired, but despite that she is still very determined and a force to be reckoned with in the courtroom.

I imagine her with a tired voice (of course), mid-low range that tends to speak slower due to the tiredness. An american accent would be preferred, however that is not a strict requirement.

Wiki Description - On the surface, Emma appears scatter-brained and overworked, suffering from a concerning number of sleepless nights. Her sleep deprivation doesn't seem to impair her sharp mind, however. She can quickly glean important details and put together complex court strategies simply from glancing over the case file. Despite normally being calm and collected, her intense adversarial energy is released full force in the courtroom.

Despite her strange quirks, she's just as intelligent and capable as any other Adjutant, and makes no fuss following the orders of superior judges.

AD_84 is a judge android. Looking for a relatively louder voice, younger, casual, as she cracks jokes and is usually not serious throughout the proceedings. No need for a robotic voice.
