Oathbreakers Episode 1
Project Overview
Oathbreakers is a Halo machinima project that takes inspiration from Red vs Blue, RWBY, Rise of the Spartans, and other popular machinimas. This series will go up on our website, Carnival Gaming, and will be free for anyone to watch. We expect to make multiple seasons focusing on most of the same main characters, so major roles should be prepared for a long-term commitment. Each episode is expected to be anywhere from ten to twenty minutes total, and each season will have around six episodes. Episode 1 is expected to release in late January or early February, however, voice acting for episode one is expected to be complete by early or mid-January. We cannot pay our voice actors at this time, however, if the project grows enough we plan to make sure each actor is paid for their time. Our goal is to develop an amazing universe that people can have fun with and find a variety of stories within.

Emily is a commander in the Coalition of Liberated Sytems, an organization bent on destroying the New UNSC and instating their council as the new representative government for those they protect. Emily has served the CLS since she was very young, and is considered a terrorist by the New UNSC and the Thorn. She now seeks to be free of the political strife surrounding the CLS and find a new life outside of their reach.
In a manner of speaking. We found your communications device intact and I took the liberty of bringing it with me today.
When we found you and brought you in, you were alone. Alone, that is, except for the bodies of your slain allies.
Thadex is a Thorn Sword or a champion of the Thorn. The Thorn are in a desperate war with the CLS, and Thadex is a crucial player in their victory, however, he now finds himself forced to fight alongside his sworn enemies. Thadex has begun to question the validity of the war and whether his people even know what they're fighting for anymore.
(Calmly, yet with some frustration) Well. We both know what you want with me.
(Whispering but angrily) My HELP? What are you going to do? Use me as bait while you hightail it out of here?
Jonathan was a sergeant in the UNSC before it collapsed. Now, he is trying to escape the mistakes that led to his capture and imprisonment under the CLS. He is a strong leader but can have moments of weakness that reflect his difficult past.
Damn, he brought the whole cavalry, didn’t he?
You two come on! We need to regroup at the pelican!
Argus is a pilot for the New UNSC. As a child, his homeworld was attacked and destroyed by CLS, and that drove him to fight to protect other innocent lives. Despite his good intentions, he has begun to realize that the New UNSC is not so different from the CLS after all. Argus is still very young and naive, but he can keep a level head in the pilot seat of anything.
If it gets us out of here, I'm not complaining.
A fueling cable is stuck in its socket! We won't get far if you don't manually detach it!
Ezekiel is an assassin whos order was shattered after the collapse. He believes that his former apprentice may have joined with the CLS and is seeking answers, however, he has grown attached to Argus and is finding a new life unfolding before him. Ezekiel is older, and he's seen a lot of terrible things, even done some of them. Now he has begun to finally confront these terrible things, and their effects are wearing him down.
Kid, we'd never even make it out of this block.
No way. I'm not going ANYWHERE with her.
Edwards is Emily's second in command. He has known her since they were small children, and they joined the CLS together. Despite that, their relationship has fractured through their long time in service. Edwards has feelings of betrayal and hate constantly projecting towards Emily, and he means to make good on his every threat.
You know what's expected of you.
Prep me a pelican and confirm with my cruiser for my arrival.
Simply need someone to speak with urgency and with respect to a higher ranking military officer.
Ma'am, there are at least four Thorn cruisers targeting our fleet as we speak!
The CLS prison Execution and Fury has a multitude of guards to ensure that prisoners are kept secure. These are just some guards that appear shortly in episode 1.
Open it up, this group has a high priority prisoner!
All right. Let's get moving!
(cynically) Nice try.Yes, sir.
Captain Alders is in charge of the CLS corvette, Wayward Silence. He is loyal to his commander, even when Edwards continually tries to subvert her authority. He is a good leader and fights in the best interests of his men.
Move all of our men to the main hangar, and prepare it for the commander's arrival.
Commander. We did not expect to see you on our corvette.
These are two crew officers aboard the Wayward Silence. They answer to Captain Alders and are loyal to Emily as well.
But sir, why is she coming aboard in the first place?
Sir. The engines are offline, and the planet's gravity is pulling us in!
This is a soldier aboard the CLS Wayward Silence. Just a quick one line extra to help drive the characters along.
Commander! If you will follow me I'll take you to the bridge!
