Project Overview
Not Cut Out For This is a 5 minute long, animated student thesis film! It's 2D animated, and will be submited at festivals, as well as screened to a large audience of staff, students, and industry professionals.
Premise:
Know anything about greek mythology? If you don't, do you remember those guys in Hercules who snip the strings with big scissors. Well, those are the fates! The fates weave, measure, and cut the strings of life; where souls then pass on to the underworld.
Now imagine if you worked in an office, but your coworkers are minor deities, your managers are gods, and your job is cutting the strings of fate
and what if, one day, you cut the wrong string!
Logline:
When Ted cuts the wrong string of Fate, he must take a lost soul to the gate of the underworld in order to keep his job.

Rediscovering joy and breaking out of monotony

Non-union, unpaid, no former experience required!
If able—> record in Orange OR virtually, CA in September/October. Recording should only take around an hour of your time. Possible rerecords in Spring 2026!
