Non Non Biyori Fandub
Project Overview
So, lately I've been watching a lot of Non Non Biyori, and I thought, I wonder if anyone has done an English fandub of this show yet?
I couldn't find one, so I decided I would just try to make one myself!
A description of the show:
"Asahigaoka might look like typical, boring countryside to most; however, no day in this village can ever be considered colorless thanks to five students of varying ages occupying the only class in the only school in town. The youngest student is first grader Renge Miyauchi, who brings an unadulterated wit, curiosity, and her characteristic catchphrase, "Nyanpasu!" Then there are the Koshigaya siblings consisting of the quiet ninth grader and elder brother Suguru, diminutive eighth grader Komari, and the mischievous seventh grader Natsumi, whose appearance may fool you at first thanks to her constantly emulating her more mature older sister. The recent arrival of Tokyo-raised fifth grader Hotaru Ichijou, who appears overdeveloped for her age and thus naturally holds an air of maturity, rounds out this lively and vibrant group of five classmates. "

Yukiko is Suguru, Komari, and Natsumi's mother. She is a graduate of the Asahigaoka Branch School. Although usually strict and demanding to her children, especially Natsumi, she is shown to have a gentle and caring side when dealing with other people.
Well? What is the meaning of these grades? I promise not to yell, so just tell me.

Hikage is a high school student who attends a school in Tokyo. She is Kazuho's younger sister and Renge's elder sister. She is a graduate of the Asahigaoka Branch School. She also likes getting people's attention and bragging about being able to live in the city.
Hello? Oh, how unusual for you to call me, Renge. How's everything there?
Well, I was just out getting my hair cut with my friend. Man, Tokyo is really something! They've got stylists and everything!
Huh? That's kinda last minute, and I don't have the money to make the trip.
Renge is a first grade elementary school student of the Asahigaoka Branch School. She is Kazuho and Hikage's youngest sister. She generally acts her age, being very precocious and curious, but is usually shown blank and expressionless that makes her look mysterious and incomprehensible. Despite this, she is quite friendly and affectionate. She is always seen with her recorder and likes to assign nicknames to her friends. She is also talented in drawing and performs well in school.
There was an old guy doing radio calisthenics outside the window behind the host. It was really cool.
It looks like outer space because it's twisted.
Instead of fishing up a rabbit with carrots, we're the ones who fell hook line and sinker.
Komari is an eighth grade middle school student of the Asahigaoka Branch School. She is Natsumi's elder sister. She is quite short, which she has a complex about. Because of her height, she is usually mistaken for a child. Komari longs to be a mature adult but is often easily scared, something which Natsumi takes advantage of. Still, she is shown to be responsible and looks out for her friends. She is bad at cooking.
Fine! I admit it! And here I was, trying not to think about that and just enjoy my time at the beach...
Lucky. I don't think my family goes to the city once a month.
They took me to the lost children center even though I wasn't lost! They even asked me where my mom was! What the heck?!
Natsumi is a seventh grade middle school student of the Asahigaoka Branch School. She is Yukiko's youngest daughter, and Suguru and Komari's youngest sister. Fun-loving and carefree, she likes playing pranks on other people, talks back to her mother, and does poorly in school. She usually tries to get out of trouble by pinning the blame on someone, or something, else.
If only life were this sweet.
I'm too afraid to look. If my grades are bad, Mom will give me another earful.
If it's heart-wrenching, that must mean the hero or heroine dies of an illness or something.
Kazuho is the 24-year-old teacher of the Asahigaoka Branch School. She is Hikage and Renge's eldest sister. Because of the fact that her students are in different grade levels and study their own materials, she often sleeps during class. She is shown to be very lazy and irresponsible and usually makes other people, especially her students, perform her responsibilities.
I've come with you today as a friend, not a teacher, right? So, I can't be held responsible for any of this, and such. Right?
More importantly, are you really a fifth grader?
Sorry. I overslept. Let's start class. Oh...I guess it's lunch time by now.
Kaede is the 20-year-old owner of the local candy shop. She is a graduate of the Asahigaoka Branch School and is Kazuho's underclassman. She is called "Candy Store" much to her chagrin. Aside from selling candies, she also runs a ski rental business mainly because skiing is her hobby and she doesn't want to lose the opportunity to make money.
Are you stupid? There are snails in that rice field out there, right? Just eat those.
It's not my fault! I'm not going to the cultural festival, and that's that.
N-no, wait! I wasn't talking to you, Renge.
Honoka is a first-grade elementary school student who stayed at her grandmother's house during summer vacation. She became Renge's first friend who is as old as her. She has a hobby of taking pictures with her camera. She unexpectedly left without saying goodbye but was able to write Renge a letter with a photo and a promise to meet again next summer vacation.
I'm staying at my grandma's house for the summer.
My dad let me borrow his camera, so I was taking some pictures.
A watermill! I've never seen one before!
Hotaru is a fifth grade elementary school student who transfers into the Asahigaoka Branch School from Tokyo. Tall and quite developed for her age, she doesn't look like an elementary school student and is thus often treated like an adult. She usually maintains a calm and composed appearance but also has a childish side and freaks out easily.
This place is different from the city in lots of ways. It has mountains, sand, and even edible plants. That's why I love it here.

This is my first summer vacation since moving here. The cicadas are all buzzing with energy. The sun is scorching hot, but there's always a nice, cool breeze, so we don't need an air conditioner.
Konomi is a third-year high school student who attends a local high school. She is a graduate of the Asahigaoka Branch School. She lives next door to the Koshigaya household and often drops by to visit. She is shown to be bright and friendly.
I brought that magazine you asked for!... huh? Oh! Are you the transfer student I've heard about?
Yep, you're just as big and pretty as I've heard!
Yeah, when you were in fifth grade, you still carried stuffed animals everywhere and ran around in the fields all day.
