Hotaru is a fifth grade elementary school student who transfers into the Asahigaoka Branch School from Tokyo. Tall and quite developed for her age, she doesn't look like an elementary school student and is thus often treated like an adult. She usually maintains a calm and composed appearance but also has a childish side and freaks out easily.

  • This place is different from the city in lots of ways. It has mountains, sand, and even edible plants. That's why I love it here.

  • This is my first summer vacation since moving here. The cicadas are all buzzing with energy. The sun is scorching hot, but there's always a nice, cool breeze, so we don't need an air conditioner.
