Project Overview
The year is 1897.
Hidden beneath a veil of perpetual fog, nestled between ancient forests and forgotten country roads, lies Noctervale—a secluded Victorian town where elegance conceals corruption, devotion masks obsession, and the dead are not always content to remain buried.
Here, grand manors overlook cobblestone streets, candlelit parlours conceal whispered affairs, and the cathedral bells mark hours that no clock dares to question. The wealthy dictate the town's future, the Church guards its own interests, and five ancient houses hold influence over a society that has survived far too many tragedies to be entirely innocent.
House Ashbourne commands wealth and respect, its influence reaching deep into the Church and the town's highest circles. House Blackthorn stands proud and intimidating, its aristocratic bloodline concealing a monstrous inheritance. House Acheron remains shrouded in secrecy, an ancient family whose name is spoken carefully and whose true nature is known to very few. Beyond them, two lesser houses weave their own supernatural ambitions into the fabric of Noctervale.
But beneath the polished silverware, formal dances, and carefully rehearsed pleasantries, something is terribly wrong.
Disappearances go unexplained. Old records contradict themselves. Strange figures are seen beyond the treeline. Letters arrive bearing no signature, and rumours spread of a thirteenth bell ringing from a tower that has long stood silent.
And yet, life continues.
The town hosts its gatherings. The families protect their reputations. The clergy preach salvation. The newspapers publish their carefully selected truths.
Everyone has something to hide.
And everyone has a part to play.
Noctervale is a completely original passion project built around supernatural mysteries, Gothic elegance, and an old-world setting. We’re creating a world filled with complex characters, hidden secrets, intricate storylines, and endless possibilities for storytelling. Everyone is welcome! We’re especially looking for creative individuals who enjoy filmmaking, character creation, roleplay, and collaborative storytelling. Whether you love developing detailed characters, creating cinematic scenes, improvising dialogue, or helping bring an original world to life, there’s a place for you here.
The server will be hosted on Minecraft Java Edition, with mods to help bring Noctervale to life. Since I’ll be running everything on a laptop, I’m hoping to keep the mod list relatively small and manageable! A work in progress: Everything is still in development, and I anticipate having approximately one month of planning and preparation before the server is fully ready to open for recording and filming.
Your role, your story: You’re welcome to play a main character, a side character, or anything in between! Every character has the potential to contribute something meaningful to the world and its story. Recording is entirely optional! You absolutely do not need to record videos or participate in filmmaking to join. This project is just as much about roleplay, character development, and collaborative storytelling as it is about creating cinematic content.
Noctervale is something I genuinely care about, and I want to build it alongside people who share that same excitement for storytelling, roleplay, and creating something special together. You don't have to be skilled to join! It's an opportunity for anyone!
Everything is currently a work in progress, so patience, ideas, feedback, and helping hands are all greatly appreciated! I’m hoping to create a welcoming, creative community where we can develop the world together and watch our ideas grow into something wonderful.

The head of House Blackthorn is responsible for the family's legacy, reputation, and future. Their authority commands respect, and their duty is to protect the family name and preserve its traditions.
ALL Blackthorn roles are required to be discussed in the server. Your character is completely up to you to design; all I ask is that you acknowledge that the Blackthorn family are werewolves and try to communicate with everyone in the Blackthorn group. Recording is not required, but using VC and acting for episodes is 100% required.
