This is an abridged series of Toei's 2007 magical girl anime, Yes! Pretty Cure 5 put though a more cynical perspective.
Yumehara Nozomi, a student with the mind of a pre-schooler, finds a magical book called the Dream Collet in the library and meets Coco, a creature from the Palmier Kingdom. Coco pleads with Nozomi to restore his fallen kingdom, which has been destroyed by a corporation called Nightmare, by completing the Dream Collet and finding the 55 Pinkies to make any wish come true. Meanwhile, the Nightmare Corporation are moving into the real world. Once Nozomi agrees to help, Coco transforms her into the magical girl Cure Dream and turn four fellow students into her Pretty Cure team. And it all goes downhill from there.

Milk is a pink and white bunny rabbit that uses her cuteness to exploit others. She works as the royal maid to Coco and Natts and is deeply infatuated with them to the point of stalking them and actively sabotaging any other relationships they might have. As expected of a cute mascot, she has a high soprano voice with an anime-like cutesy nature.

Karen is a is a third-year student at Cinq Lumières Middle School. She was born to a rich family of musicians and was primarily raised by her butler, Sakamoto. For some reason her parents are always “on tour” and have been for years now. She has been friends with Komachi since they were children, is the student council president, and should be the leader of the team. She speaks with a very sophisticated English accent.
I just realized. We should find a place where we can discuss… let’s say… a certain… activity we do outside of school. A place where we can talk about it without people finding out.
(Aggravated) What is with this girl and her abysmally aggravating alliteration addiction!?
(Happy, on the phone) Mother! I’m so glad that you’re in high spirits as always!
Rin is a is a second-year student at Cinq Lumières Middle School. She appears as a tomboy and plays enough sports to have every team clamoring for her to join them, but has always time for her family and friends. Her parents run a flower shop which she often helps in. She’s the straight man of the group, so it’s perfect for someone with an average-sounding voice.
(Concerned) Nozomi, don’t eat anything off the floor this time.
(Summarizing) Okay, let me get this straight. There’s an evil organization after this weird plastic toy that grants wishes, and you expect me to become what is essentially an over-glorified child soldier to protect it? Okay, I'm in.
(Deadpan) Is it just me or have these coincidences become par for the course?
Nozomi is a is a second-year student at Cinq Lumières Middle School. Nozomi appears to be a typical shoujo heroine. She’s as dumb as a brick and does not know what to do with her life. Prepare for a lot of screaming, I think that’s expected of any action show protagonist. She speaks with a kind of naivete that you would hear from a child and her voice is more in the mezzo soprano range.

(Happy) Aww~ A cute little raccoon dog~ I'm gonna hug you and squeeze you and call you George.

Urara (Pronounced Ooh-la-la) is a first year student at Cinq Lumières Middle School, a young actress, an idol, and the youngest Cure of the group. She is proud of her fame, but is afraid that she might suffer the fate of many child actors before her. Due to her exposure to the medium of acting and the fact that characters she worked with got shipped, she ships real people no matter the context. As expected of a J-pop idol, she has a high soprano voice with an anime-like cutesy nature.
(Dramatic) "My inner goddess is doing a triple axel dismount off the uneven bars, and abruptly my mouth is dry." (Realization) Wow, this script is horrible. I really have to call my agent about this.
(Afraid) I always knew that showbiz would kill me, but not like this!
(Dramatic) "The effervescent power of a young girl’s sparkle… Take this! Pretty Cure… Lemonade Flash!"
Arachnea is a lower-level worker at the Nightmare Corporation. Her job includes torture, reconnaissance, and looking sexy while doing it. Her voice is low, sultry and in the alto range.

(Condescending) Let me guess. You want me to clean up the mess made by those two fools, Girinma and Gamao?
In my defense, I only prepared for three Pretty Cures, not four.
Desperaiah is the CEO of the Nightmare Corporation and an avid reader of TVTropes. She intends to gain eternal life to bring despair to all the world, and has ordered her subordinates to obtain the Dream Collet. Her voice is low, sultry and in the alto range.

Mika is the chief editor of the Cinq Lumieres News. Her goal is to get the "scoop" on Pretty Cure, but she always either fails or is distracted by Natts. She often uses tactics commonly used in tabloids in order to increase the sales of her papers such as exaggerations of news events, scandal-mongering, and sensationalism. She also talks fast and uses alliteration in her everyday speech.

Kawarino is Desperaiah's secretary. He conveys her intentions and orders to other employees of Nightmare, and report to her on the missions. Most of the other employees fear him with reason. He is modeled after a chameleon and often uses his mimicking ability to deceive others. He has a high voice and speaks politely to the point of effeminacy. He is always calm and collected even when speaking of the most atrocious acts.

Komachi is kind and shy, and likes to read books and write. However, if she is angered enough, she will snap and release her temper, turning into a complete yandere. Along with her best friend, Karen Minazuki, Komachi is also a popular senior at her school. She is a volunteer at the school library, along with Karen, and often spends her time there writing stories. Her parents own a traditional Japanese sweet-shop, which has the same name as her, Komachi Confectionery. Her voice is calm and serene, a more motherly voice if anything.

Hadenya is a large, vile woman with a deep-seeded hatred for men, which is shown through her regular torture of Bunbee. She sees anyone with an opinion slightly different from hers as an enemy that has to be eliminated.
It writes the wrongs about the men or else it gets the hose again.
(Angry) Don't you come at me with your logic! My emotions are better than science!

She’s a sweet woman with an English accent who only has a bit part in the series.

Sakamoto is the Minazuki's butler and takes care of Karen when her parents are “overseas” as famous musicians. He often refers to Karen as “Miss” and also seems to be fond of her, like a father. He worries about Karen being lonely because of her parents’ “extended tour”.
(Apologetic) I’m sorry, Miss Karen. I tried my best, but Komachi was just too cute. I had to let them in.
Miss Karen, I may not be your father. But you should go to your room, young lady!
