Project Overview
Welcome to New Hope Texas. Nestled in the Texas triangle is the small town of New Hope, an average small town with average small town people. Or so you would think. Discover the secrets that lay below the surface as Reese and their friends unlock them piece by piece.
New Hope Texas is a queer podcast, consisting of mainly queer characters. There are roles I prefer to give out to certain communities. If you're auditioning for the role of Ms. Mary, I would prefer for you to be a black trans woman or a trans woman of color. If you're auditioning for Reese I would prefer for you to be nonbinary. If you are auditioning for the role of Kevin I would prefer for you to be a person of color. If you're auditioning for the role of Raf , I would prefer for you to be nonbinary. If you are auditioning for the role of Selene I would prefer for you to be a queer woman. I have these preferences because often these people are either whitewashed or not represented properly in the media and I intend to do my best to represent them. For other roles, anyone of any gender or sexuality is allowed to audition.
Please have clear audio quality when submitting your audition. I understand this can be difficult for some of you but those with clear audio quality will be higher up on our lists of possible candidates. Please do not submit if you are under the age of 18. This is not an NSFW podcast but there may be horror elements that younger listeners may find disturbing. Also seeing as most characters are adults, I would prefer to work with adults. Please note this is a passion project, if it picks up and we get forms of payment I will make sure everyone gets some kind of pay for the effort that they put in, but I can not guarantee any payment.

Reese is our main character, they are compiling reports together for their college thesis. Reese is nonbinary and I would prefer them to be voiced by a nonbinary person. This role comes with a lot of monologues and talking.

Ms. Mary is a secretive but kind older woman who assists Reese with gathering stories. She is the primary focus of one of the episodes and shows up throughout.

I was born in 1959, just a few hours after midnight on January 1st. My mother got startled by the fireworks.
We watched as a few floats came by, people threw out candy into the crowd that we fought with other children to grab as many as we could. Huh, it’s hard to remember we were still children when it happened, I feel like by the end of that day I was all grown up.
The water was still, the sloshing sounds of it hitting the shore seemed muffled and further away then it was. No birds, no bugs, just silence.

Every kid loves halloween and I definitely wasn't the exception. As far back as I can remember my mother would help us with our costumes starting sometimes in July.
It was a rich neighborhood too, the one near 10th and Jay, so I expected major competition. Instead, crickets.
