Never Fade Away Cover Intro
Project Overview
Ok, so I have a weird thing where with certain song covers I do, I like to have some kind of story with it. I did it with the "Everything Stays" cover. And now I wanna do it with this cover. The idea of what the story is, that's in the lines given. I had a hard time with trying to decide what I wanted to do and then I thought about the five stages of grief:
. Denial
2. Anger
3. Bargaining
4. Depression
and 5. Acceptance
or DABDA for short.
So I did a small monologue for each stage, almost like the voicemails at the end of Cyberpunk. The idea was that those would play first and then the song starts, but I wanted the voices to be different people. This is mostly geared toward people I know and have worked with on different projects, but really anyone is welcome to try this out.
Also, I wanted to take it a step further and do some Cyberpunk-style character portraits for when the voice line is playing, so if you have any preferences on what you want you character to look like let me know. And if you know the game, let me know if you want to be a Nomad, Streetkid, or a Corp. If you don't know much about it, no worries, just give me the preference on looks and I can work with that.
Anyways, have fun with it and I look forward to hearing what you guys got.

The first stage of grief, denial, is when someone doesn't or isn't ready to accept that the person is gone. Try to make it sound like you're denying the situation.
Hey, G.D.!! Heard you nearly got into another scrap with Arasaka again. Everyone’s saying you’re gonna come back this time…they say you finally got caught and…well…But I know you, bud! You’d never let those ‘Saka jerks get you that easily, even with all their fancy tech. Can’t wait for you to come back. You still owe my a rematch in Halo. I’ll be waiting for you, bud. See ya!

Second stage of grief, anger, is when you're so upset about the situation, it causes you to become angry and lash out. Most of the time it's never intentional, but it's hard not to be angry by what's happening. Show me how angry you can be at this situation.
G.D. I just—REALLY?! Voicemail again?! This isn’t like you! I swear if you ended up dead because you were too reckless, I’ll find you and beat your corpse myself. And if those Arasaka freaks are using you for spare parts or a battery, I’ll tear through ANYONE who gets in my way and still beat you up for being reckless!! Just…please just let me know I’m wrong and that you’re fine, otherwise you’ll be DOUBLE DEAD! …bye…

The third stage of grief, bargaining, is when you wish for something else to happen. So you end up trying to bargain and hope that things aren't as they seem. Let's see how your bargaining skills are.
Oh, um…voicemail. So, um…G.D.…word on the street is you haven’t been answering anyone’s calls since you decided to take on Arasaka…it honestly scares me to think something happened to you…so please, if you’re not gonna respond to anyone else, at least call or text me once…just once. That’s all I’m asking. Just please let me know you’re safe…because I don’t want you to be gone. I hope to hear from you soon.

The fourth stage, depression, is a bit of a touchy one, especially for me. This is when you realize that there's nothing that could've been done, but can't shake the depressing cloud over your head. You retreat inwards and it's...honestly heartbreaking. I won't drag on with this one, just...you know what to do...
Hey, G.D….everyone’s saying you finally kicked the bucket…it’s…honestly hard to believe… especially after all you did for me, the others…bringing us together and helping us not feel alone…but…you realize you could’ve called any of us, right…? You didn’t have to face this alone…I mean you….we were a…I…I…I’m sorry I can’t do this…

This is the final stage of grief, acceptance. This is when you finally accept the fate of someone. You know they're gone, but now, instead of feeling the other four stages, you have knowledge in knowing that that person is in a better place. Show me how you'd show acceptance.
Hey, G.D….so…it’s been a while since you practically went M.I.A. All of us are handling it differently…but wherever you are…whether in hiding or up in that Great City in the sky…I want you to know that I understand why you did what you did…even if you were offered help, you felt it was your burden, and wanted to protect the others…and some factors of that are beyond our control…I’ll do my best to help the others through these troubling times…if I don’t hear from you again, these are my final words to you: We’ll see you on the other side, my friend.

This is just an extra optional set of lines for the beginning.
"WE HAVE AN INTRUDER!!!"
[dark] "You decided your fate when you decided to defy our rightful authority, mercenary. [beat] Take him away. You know what to do."
