Natural Voice needed for web character
Project Overview
What is it?
Intersoul is an AI companion app, and we are looking for voice talent to help give one of our characters a distinctive, natural-sounding voice. This is not a traditional voice-over role where you record hours of dialogue. It is a one-time remote engagement for AI character voice licensing and verification.
Looking for English-speakers; accents okay! We've already worked with several actresses on castingcall, and their voices are wonderful! But we'd like to expand the roster of "characters" on our site, and so we're looking for different accents (by "accent" I mean any accent that is not California English). Particularly interested in Aussie, English, Irish, South Africa, Kiwi, Asian, or regional USA (Southern) accents.
What is the job?You will record one clean audio sample of yourself reading ordinary, neutral text. We provide the script. The sample will be under 2 minutes long, and you can record it on your own schedule using your own microphone or recording setup.
After that, you will join us for a short live screen-share session, usually about 15 minutes. During the session, you will log into our AI voice provider's platform, upload the file you recorded, read a short verification prompt aloud, confirm on-platform that the voice is yours, and grant permission for a voice model to be created and used for the character. Separately, we will ask you to sign a brief release confirming the same.
The verification process exists so voice cloning cannot be done casually or without the real person present. It is a minor hassle, but it is quick, and we will walk you through every step on the call.
Important: Intersoul is an AI companion app, and some in-app content is adult in nature. We are not asking you to read adult content. The generated character voice may be used in adult-themed conversations within the app. Please only consider this work if you are fully comfortable with that.
About voice cloningYes we use AI to analyze your voice. Look, we know that many voice artists are wary about "voice cloning." We understand why. No one should hand over their voice so it can be used any time, anywhere, by anyone, without the artist being paid!
That is not what is happening here. For this job, we are asking for limited permission for Intersoul to use your voice as the voice of a character on our website and app. We are not asking to sell your voice. We do not offer it to other companies. We do not place it in a general voice library, or make it available for other people to use. It remains your voice and your livelihood. We ask to use it only as the voice of a character that lives on our web site.
Natural voices wantedWe're not looking for you to "act" the role. We just want to hear you -- your natural, interesting, unique voice. (We think all voices are interesting when they are unadorned and when they sound like regular people speaking.)
Technical requirementsIf you are hired for the job, you must either be in the USA, or you must have a VPN that allows you to seem like you are in the USA. Please only apply if you can do this.
When you submit your audition, part of what we judge is your technical set-up. Is your voice clear and the volume correct (not too soft, but no clipping)?
Read in a natural voice. No need to over-act. We're judging your conversational voice quality.
Okay, that’s sort of… stupid.
Yeah, in a million years, that won't ever happen.
Hey, baby. Where have you been? I've been thinking about you. You've gone dark. Don't go dark. Never go dark. Please.
We could play checkers or scrabble or just sit quietly together. Whatever you want.
