Naruto: The Fandub
Project Overview
WHAT IS THIS?
This is a Fandub of the anime series, Naruto, specifically, the first series.
For those of you unfamiliar with the story, twelve years before the start of the series, the Nine-Tails attacked Konohagakure destroying much of the village and taking many lives. The leader of the village, the Fourth Hokage, sacrificed his life to seal the Nine-Tails into a newborn, Naruto Uzumaki. Orphaned by the attack, Naruto was shunned by the villagers, who out of fear and anger, viewed him as the Nine-Tails itself. Though the Third Hokage outlawed speaking about anything related to the Nine-Tails, the children — taking their cues from their parents — inherited the same animosity towards Naruto. In his thirst to be acknowledged, Naruto vowed he would one day become the greatest Hokage the village had ever seen, with the help of his teammates, angst-ridden Sasuke, and hot-headed Sakura. They eventually move to encompass their struggles against enemies such as Orochimaru, the ruthless leader of the rival village of Otogakure, and the S-Class criminal organization Akatsuki.
REQUIREMENTS
Now, this is going to be an unpaid fan project, but I still would like there to be decent quality, technology-wise, and performance-wise. As such, please make sure that your microphone can capture your voice that is clear for me to hear and have any background noise or peaking/clipping be minimal. In terms of performance, I ask you to look through youtube and do some research on the voice of the character you would like to audition for, make sure you know how their English voice sounds so your audition sounds perfect!
I would also prefer it if you listed your Discord information in your audition description, as the project will be going into production over there. All voice files should be submitted in a .wav format. Most importantly, remember to have fun, as that is the whole purpose of this project, to have fun!
That's all, can't wait to hear your auditions, folks!
When you are logged in, you can comment, add submissions, create projects, upvote, search open roles, and way more. Login here.
Naruto Uzumaki is a shinobi of Konohagakure's Uzumaki clan. He became the jinchūriki of the Nine-Tails on the day of his birth — a fate that caused him to be shunned by most of Konoha throughout his childhood. After joining Team Kakashi, Naruto worked hard to gain the village's acknowledgment all the while chasing his dream to become Hokage. Naruto is noted as boisterous, exuberant, and unorthodox. Though he responds best to competition and is not afraid to ask for assistance, Naruto is relatively naïve and slow to understand principles or situations. He often requires an oversimplified analogy in order to grasp explanations and can even prove forgetful. Naruto is aware of his faults and admits he acts strong to mask his embarrassment and frustration about them. Despite his naivety, Naruto can be quite observant, picking up on things others miss and retaining information casually gathered through conversation. Growing up as an orphan who suffered years of hatred and social isolation has influenced Naruto's character in a number of ways: he is heedless to formality and social standings, addressing certain people with nicknames instead of honorifics, Despite his quirks and the criticism they earn him, Naruto is said to have a personality that draws people to him, inspiring friendship and loyalty through acts of genuine kindness that could change a person's world view and thus built meaningful relationships that he lacked in early life.
And my future dream is to be the greatest Hokage! Then the whole village will stop disrespecting me and start treating me like I'm somebody. Somebody important!
Don't underestimate me! I don't quit and I don't run! You can act tough all you want! You're not gonna scare me off! No way! I don't care if I do get stuck as a genin for the rest of my life! I'll still be Hokage someday!
It's almost unbearable, isn't it… the pain of being all alone. I know that feeling; I've been there, in that dark and lonely place, but now there are others, other people who mean a lot to me. I care more about them than I do myself, and I won't let anyone hurt them. That's why I'll never give up. I will stop you, even if I have to kill you! They saved me from myself. They rescued me from my loneliness. They were the first to accept me as who I am. They're my friends.
Sasuke Uchiha is one of the last surviving members of Konohagakure's Uchiha clan. After his older brother, Itachi, slaughtered their clan, Sasuke made it his mission in life to avenge them by killing Itachi.
My name is Sasuke Uchiha. I hate a lot of things, and I don't particularly like anything. What I have is not a dream, because I will make it a reality. I'm going to restore my clan, and kill a certain someone.
Just shut up for once! What the hell do you know about it?! It's not like you ever had a family in the first place! You were on your own right from the beginning, what makes you think you know anything about it?! Huh?! I'm suffering now because I had those ties, how on earth could you possibly understand, what it feels like to lose all that!
If you want to ridicule me as a brat swayed by his emotions, go ahead. To accept and adopt Itachi's intention would be childish. The foolish sputtering of those who don't know hatred. If anyone who criticizes my way of life were to come forward, I'd turn around and kill every single one of their loved ones, so that they too can grasp what it's like… to experience this hatred of mine.
Sakura Uchiha is a kunoichi of Konohagakure. She typically gives the outward impression of being polite to her superiors, considerate of her peers, and confident in herself. She has occasional moments of bashfulness around Sasuke and competitiveness around Ino, but otherwise appears quite collected. This reservation, though never disingenuous, frequently masks how Sakura feels: in certain situations, she has pronounced feelings of delinquency, jealousy, and anger. Rather than display these emotions to others, she projects them inward, allowing a manifestation of who she truly is, what is labeled "Inner Sakura", to have the opinions Sakura wants to keep to herself. Inner Sakura, whose appearances are marked by an exclamation of "Shannarō!", is in a sense a personality separate from Sakura herself, a fact that allows her to overcome the Mind Body Switch Technique. At other times, Sakura and Inner Sakura are indistinguishable from each other, usually with regards to Naruto. If Naruto says or does something that annoys or upsets her, Sakura responds with violence, a reaction that under other circumstances would be delegated to Inner Sakura.
Naruto's here because he's made up his mind… my resolve is nothing compared to his now! I'm supposed to be a ninja, but all I've ever done is lean on him and cry… I was supposed to change that… I came here and I thought I was ready. But I can't do anything… I can't say anything. The only thing that remains for me… is to believe in them!
He's making us realize that he considers all of us his comrades!!! I'm going to make sure Naruto has a full recovery! Every one of us must do what's in their power! If we're going to die any way… …then it's better to die fighting than to do nothing!!
I… I love you with all my heart!… If you were to stay here with me, there would be no regrets… because every day we'd do something fun, we'd be happy I swear!… I would do anything for you! So… Please just stay with me!
Kakashi Hatake is a shinobi of Konohagakure's Hatake clan. Famed as Kakashi of the Sharingan, he is one of Konoha's most talented ninja; regularly looked to for advice and leadership despite his personal dislike of responsibility. Kakashi typically has a relaxed and almost bored attitude, not prone to getting too worked up about anything or by anyone. Despite his increasingly growing reputation and prowess as a ninja, Kakashi has shown no signs of arrogance and is rather modest about his abilities. He is habitually tardy, showing up when it suits him, using excuses that convince nobody, and later leaving for equally poor reasons. Though Kakashi wants others to believe this is how he always acts, he only does so for matters that aren't of particular importance.
In the ninja world, those who break the rules are trash, that's true, but those who abandon their comrades are worse than trash.
I'm just a piece of trash… but there are things I learned. The hole in your heart is something other people can fill. If you reject your friends' feelings and this world… just because something didn't go as you wished, no one will ever come to you. And so that hole won't be filled either, if you just run away without doing anything people won't do anything for you either… As long as you don't give up, you can still be saved!
I told you that I'll never let my friends die… that's also something that I wanted to convince myself of… There are many friends I was unable to protect so far… That's why every time I swear that I'll protect them… but then I still happen to face the truth of when I'm not able to do it… You have to take that 'wound' with you forever… That's why we're the ones to endure… We are Ninja. I will never forget.
Hiruzen Sarutobi is the Third Hokage of Konohagakure. A disciple of the village's two previous Hokage, Hiruzen is a powerful ninja, hailed as a "God of Shinobi". He is a firm believer in the Will of Fire, which holds that all the people of Konoha are a family and that the Hokage is chiefly responsible for that family's well-being. Throughout his tenure, Hiruzen lives up to the Will of Fire by being available for Konoha's villagers and shinobi during their time of need, making decisions for the betterment of as many people as possible, and providing his wisdom and guidance whenever he can. His delicate, thoughtful approach to not only issues within the village but also his interactions with foreign powers have given Hiruzen the reputation of being soft, something the Konoha Council spends much of its time trying to rectify. Nevertheless, Hiruzen's kind and pacifist ways are widely valued by Konoha's residents and even his rival Kage.
You only get one life. There's no need to choose an impossible path. It's fine to live as long as you like and die. However… protecting a precious person… you must not forget this no matter what path you choose.
To me, Konoha isn't just an organization. Every year there are a lot of ninjas born and raised in Konoha… They live, fight to protect this village, and what is precious they would go to their death. Even if we are not related by blood, those of the village like these are, to me, my most precious, most important… family!
Iruka Umino is a chūnin of Konohagakure, who serves primarily as an instructor at the Academy. Iruka is described as being both big-hearted, and soft-hearted. This is most often seen through his teaching methods, often keeping a watchful eye over his students as they progress. This, however, does not mean that he is a pushover, as he can be stern when the situation calls for it, most often seen when he shouts at his students in order to get them to obey him. Despite the tragedy of losing his parents at a young age, Iruka remained a determined and strong-willed individual with a kind disposition. This is seen from his lack of hostility towards Naruto Uzumaki who was often the victim of misplaced anger at the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox who was sealed within Naruto. Because of this, Iruka came to be one of the only adults Naruto respects, as well as the only person who could control Naruto's behavior to some degree.
Yeah… the monster fox would do that… but Naruto is different. I've acknowledged him as… one of my excellent students. He may not be the hardest worker… and he is clumsy and no one accepts him… but he already knows what it is to feel pain inside your heart. He isn't the monster fox. He is a member of the Konohagakure. He's Naruto Uzumaki!
Stop acting like a baby! You want to know what I really think of you?! I think you're one of my most precious students… and… you're like a little brother to me.
Hinata Hyuga is a kunoichi of Konohagakure. Formerly the heiress of the Hyuga clan, she lost the position upon being deemed unsuited for the responsibilities of leading the clan. Nonetheless, Hinata persevered and from her observation of Naruto Uzumaki especially, Hinata found an example to follow. Through her membership with Team 8, she sought to become strong enough to change herself, if even a little at a time. She is soft-spoken and polite, always addressing people with proper honorifics. She is kind, always thinking of others more than for herself, caring for their feelings and well-being. She doesn't like being confrontational for any reason. This often leads to her being meek or timid to others, as her overwhelming kindness can render her unable to respond or act for fear of offending somebody. Her father's constant push to alter this personality trait only made it worse, eroding Hinata's self-confidence and making her even more bashful because she gained so little faith in herself and her opinions. Despite being disinherited, Hinata loves her family very much.
Naruto… I have always watched you… Watched you for many years… Why? I don't know why, but whenever I look at you… I feel more courage within me… It makes me feel like I can accomplish something if I try… It makes me feel like I am worth something…
In my eyes… you're a proud failure! When I look at you, I get an intense feeling in my heart… Because you're not perfect… Because you fail… you have the strength to get back up… Because I believe that is what true strength is…
Kiba Inuzuka is a member of Konohagakure's Inuzuka clan and a member of Team Kurenai. Despite his headstrong, and at times egotistic attitude, Kiba is loyal to his comrades and will do anything to protect them with his trusted canine companion, Akamaru, by his side. He is often short-tempered and impulsive (in stark contrast to his teammates Shino and Hinata), and can be prone to making mistakes when he becomes agitated in battle. He also enjoys combat even when facing particularly strong opponents. He cares deeply for Akamaru and is willing to do whatever is necessary to protect him. And, despite his rather gruff attitude, many of Kiba's actions reveal that he is very close to his older sister, Hana, and remains fiercely loyal to his clan and has great pride in it.
You? Hokage? You can't even beat me! No-one's deluded enough to think that you have what it takes to become the next Hokage, not even you! Tell you what, though… I'll become Hokage in your place!
Akamaru… you fought well. We were able to delay them for quite a while because of you. We even managed to wound them. It's all-right now, I'll protect you.
Akamaru is a nin-dog from Konohagakure's Inuzuka clan. He is Kiba Inuzuka's partner, as well as his best friend and constant companion. Akamaru has been described as active and devoted. This can be seen from his interactions with people especially his best friend and companion Kiba whom he has always been with since the two met. They often spend their time going on walks, or more accurately, running through trees chasing one another. His devotion is most often seen when Kiba is hurt in battle, Akamaru will immediately run to his side.

Shino Aburame is a shinobi of Konohagakure's Aburame clan. Quiet, and at times off-putting to some, Shino puts his clan's insect-based techniques to use on Team Kurenai. Shino is portrayed as being somewhere between merely stoic and matter-of-fact, rarely ever smiling or showing emotion at all. He also has a tendency of holding grudges and being rather intimidating. He seems to be aware of these odd personality traits, his interest in insects only helps him strengthen this viewpoint; by spending most of his spare time watching them, and often making analogies to insects when talking.
Never underestimate your opponent, no matter how small they may seem.
I hate explaining the same thing twice.
Kurenai Yuhi is a member of Konohagakure's Sarutobi clan. She is a caring and brave woman. She shows great concern towards her students and takes a vested interest in their growth, especially in regards to Hinata Hyuga due to knowing full well how Hinata was viewed by her father. Her personality is unyielding, honest, and simple. She is also portrayed as the "big sister type"
I will be watching over Hinata from now on… but are you sure it's all right? Hinata is a member of the Hyūga main family… working as a genin may cause her to be surrounded by death.
Hinata… You used to be a quitter… But you began to try and change yourself. I know better than anyone, the tough training you put yourself through. But you'd always fail on missions, you were weak when it mattered most and quickly lost confidence. But today you're different… That child… I have never… seen her with eyes like that…
Shikamaru Nara is a shinobi of Konohagakure's Nara clan. Though lazy by nature, Shikamaru has a rare intellect that consistently allows him to prevail in combat. The responsibilities that these successes leave him with cause him frequent annoyance, but he gladly accepts them so that he may be of service to his fellow members of Team Asuma, and to prove himself to generations of the past and future. Shikamaru is naturally a lazy person and his inclination is to do as little work as possible. As an Academy student and even during his early career as a genin, Shikamaru is able to get away with this, spending his days sleeping, watching the clouds, or playing games of shōgi and Go. His goal is to live unremarkably, free of anything of noticeably good or bad, and then to die just as unremarkably as he lived. When he is faced with the potential for conflict or commitment, he responds first by saying, "How troublesome," and then by trying to find some way out of it, either by pretending to be indisposed or even outright saying that he doesn't want to do whatever it is. Although Shikamaru describes himself as "the number one coward", he has a strong moral compass and dedication to his friends.
Oh, man… those clouds are so lucky… so free… More to the point, I didn't feel like doing this in the first place…And I only became a ninja because I thought life would've been more interesting as one… I suppose things aren't gonna be that simple.
I never really liked Sasuke, but all the same, he's a member of Konoha; he's a comrade and I'll put my life on the line to help him, that's the way of our village. I know I usually seem like a pretty lazy guy but not today, because now I'm responsible for your lives too.
Choji Akimichi is a member of Konohagakure's Akimichi Clan. Though sensitive about his weight, Choji is nevertheless dedicated to his friends, especially in Team Asuma. Choji is a very kind, polite, and caring person. These characteristics are said to be his greatest strength by both his father Choza and his former teacher Asuma Sarutobi while his greatest weakness was his lack of self-confidence. He is easily motivated by the prospect of food, and becomes highly agitated when somebody calls him "fat" (he refers to himself as "big-boned", "chubby") Asuma would say that he is just "pleasantly plump". However, he does not hide his love for food and his near-constant hunger is also an annoyance to his teammates, as eating often comes before other necessities such as stealth and teamwork. Food can also make him over-react about silly things, such as who gets the last chip, or when Akamaru tried to take his chips, and he refuses to let anyone else eat the last chip in the bag, even in battle-situation. Choji also tends to eat a lot when he's angry.
Fat!? I'm big-boned!
The last bite! The end of the meal, the most precious morsel of meat. I won't let anyone take the last piece away from me!
Ino Yamanaka is a kunoichi of Konohagakure's Yamanaka clan. Ino is a confident, bold, and outspoken girl who has a mild-temper and occasionally lashes out at others if their personal habits bother her. At the same time, she is by nature very friendly and loyal to her allies, usually more motivated than her team-mates, and tends to take charge of them. She is also prideful in her appearance and often tries to lose weight by dieting in the hopes that it will make her more attractive to boys. Ino is quite knowledgeable about different types and meanings of flowers, sometimes making analogies to them when talking. Despite her assertiveness and uppity demeanor, Ino is a compassionate and kind person at heart, having been raised to embody the meaning of the bush clover: a blunt, candid love who treasures the bonds with her friends.
Because… I thought it would be a waste for you to wither away as a bud. There's no meaning to a flower unless it blooms. It might turn out to be… a flower more beautiful than a Cosmos.
Who're you calling "pig", you billboard brow?!
Asuma Sarutobi is a jonin of Konohagakure's Sarutobi clan and a former member of the Twelve Guardian Ninja. He is also the leader of Team 10 which consists of Shikamaru Nara, Ino Yamanaka, and Chōji Akimichi. Asuma is typically a laid-back individual and does not get himself involved in things unless absolutely necessary. He is a heavy smoker, but, despite this, he will abruptly break the habit under certain circumstances. Despite Asuma's very blunt personality, often calling his students what they were unreservedly, a "glutton" (Chōji), a "loudmouth" (Ino), and a "slacker" (Shikamaru), he has a very good relationship with all three.
Shikamaru can think 10 steps ahead and consider 200 possible moves in a second. But his real strength is his knack for choosing the best one.
That's what I want to see, Choji. That face...that's all you need to become stronger than anyone. A face brimming with confidence!
He is energetic, optimistic, and hot-blooded, and shows the epitome of a "nice guy". He believes that one cannot dislike food and shows a strong dedication to his promises; when this promise is broken, just barely, he assigns himself arduous training to prevent it from happening again. Lee speaks respectfully to others, never using contractions or swear words and always addressing people with appropriate honorifics, except his teammates since Lee feels they are close enough to be spoken to informally. He also carries a small book and pencil to recall advice that Guy gives him over time. Despite his passionate nature, Lee has also shown strong instincts, staying focused on the task at hand, and rarely losing his composure. He has a keen sense of honor and respects his opponents, refusing to hold grudges against those who have defeated him, and returning favors to those that have helped him. Lee feels others should show the same respect towards their opponents, and is disgusted whenever someone is unnecessarily cruel to their enemies.
A genius, huh? What does that mean? "Genius"? So I was not born with a whole lot of natural talent, not gifted like Neji… but I work hard and I never give up! That is my gift; that is my ninja way!
Sakura, please go out with me! I'll protect you with my life!
Neji Hyuga is a shinobi of Konohagakure's Hyuga clan. For years he was driven by a fatalistic belief that his and everyone else's fates were determined from birth and were inescapable. He perceived his own destiny as being that of a rare talent, causing him to arrogantly place himself above those he believes are "weaker" than himself. He also perceived that his talents would always be handicapped by mandatory servitude to the Hyūga's main house, which he resented and it fuelled his animosity towards the main house and its members. After experiencing Naruto Uzumaki's refusal to be limited by such an ideology, Neji realized his fate was what he chose it to be, and as a member of Team Guy, he sought the strength necessary to make the future he wanted for his family and friends.
These eyes of mine show me many things. One thing they've shown me… people's limitations are set, fixed, and unchangeable. Only a fool wastes his time trying to become something he can never be! The only destiny that everyone shares… is death.
Father, is a person's destiny a thing like a cloud flowing with an inescapable flow? Or can a person choose the flow he wishes… I still don't know the answer to this. Either way, the destination may be the same in the end. However, by choosing to live like the latter, a person can live and strive towards a goal. And in this match, I have finally understood those who have that are truly strong. Father, I have but one goal, I want to become stronger… Enough not to lose to anyone… That's how I feel. Father, the birds are flying freely today… They look so happy.
Tenten is a kunoichi from Konohagakure and a member of Team Guy. She is naturally inquisitive and observant, with a personal dream to become a legendary kunoichi like Tsunade. This has led to her to become strongly opinionated about women, defending that girls can be just as skilled as boys in taijutsu when Neji thought otherwise. Tenten exhibits a distaste for weakness or being overly dependent on other people. Though she can be quite fierce at times, Tenten is kind and caring toward others, comforting her friends when they are going through a hard time. Being around her overly enthusiastic teammates, particularly Might Guy and Rock Lee, Tenten is often left exasperated at their antics and wishes they would behave more maturely. She is more easy-going and dislikes having to travel for whole days or continue training when she is already tired, for which reason she enjoys her days-off from missions. However, she cares greatly about her team. She also holds great respect for her other teammate Neji Hyuga and often helps him train. Naturally, Tenten, who's a ninja-tool user, loves ninja weapons to the point that she collects every ninja tool from all over the world as a hobby. She also appears to have a fascination with the supernatural, believing in ghosts and the like.
I won't let that happen. No way you're not getting off that easy! The people you and Raiga killed, they all wanted to live but you didn't leave them that choice! You decided for them! Well, you don't get to decide this time, okay?! You're gonna live and you're going to take some responsibility for all those people's lives you cut short!
Amazing… The brilliance of the blade… the design. They're all beautiful! I want to take them all home!
Might Guy is a jonin of Konohagakure. A master of taijutsu, Guy leads and passes his wisdom onto the members of Team Guy. Guy is perhaps most fully represented by his "nice guy" pose: a thumbs up, wink, and winning smile - complete with the proverbial ping. The pose captures his optimism and confidence, as by striking the pose he is promising that whatever words accompany it are either true now or will become true in time. It represents his energy, as he will, through his understood-only-to-himself-and-select-others "Power of Youth", enthusiastically seek to live up to his promise no matter the personal investment doing so will require of him. It plumbs his deep emotional well because he only reserves it for the most important promises to the most important people for the most important reasons, and as such tears frequently stream down the face of somebody (inevitably Guy) when the pose is struck. He is a very driven and committed man, both to his principles and his training, constantly pushing himself to go beyond his limits. Guy can be serious at times despite his odd mannerisms, usually when engaging an enemy who threatens Konoha or one of his comrades. But even his serious moments can be undermined by one of his eccentricities.
For those who don't believe in themselves… hard work is worthless!! …You are very much like me, Lee. I used to be a loser too. But these days I can even win against the elite genius Kakashi. "I want to prove that even without ninjutsu and genjutsu I can become a great ninja" that's your nindo right? That's a great goal, it's worth working hard for!
What would you know about that boy? That kid has a precious thing he would give up his life to prove. So I wanted to turn him into a man that could accomplish it… That is all…
Gaara is a shinobi of Sunagakure. He was made the jinchuriki of the One-Tailed Shukaku before he was born, causing the villagers of Suna to fear him as a monster. With nobody to connect to, Gaara grew up hating the world and looking out only for himself, giving his life meaning by killing anyone he came across. Though he outwardly appears calm, "Gaara of the Sand Waterfall" is deeply unbalanced, completely unmoved by others' pleas for mercy, and, in certain situations, driven mad with bloodlust. This behavior is partly due to Shukaku, whose voice Gaara alone can hear in his head, who encourages violence at every opportunity, and who torments Gaara with threats to take control of his body if he falls asleep, thus making Gaara an insomniac. But Shukaku is not wholly responsible: Gaara simply hates other people for existing, believing that so long as they are alive they are a threat to his own life. His purpose, therefore, is to kill anyone who is strong or whom he perceives as similar to himself, as only by killing them can he assert his own existence. With those who do not interest him, Gaara is typically withdrawn and silent. When he must interact with them, he does so with open disregard for their feelings and often threatens to kill them, even his own siblings, if they become too much of a nuisance to him.
I am a relic they want to get rid of, so why do I exist and live? In order to exist, you need a purpose. To exist for no reason is the same as being dead… Then I came to the conclusion that I would love only myself and fight for only myself. If all other people exist to magnify that love, then there is no more a splendid universe than this one… My existence will not vanish.
I will work hard, because I want to become acknowledged by others. That's what I thought when I look at Naruto Uzumaki. Bonds with others… Up until now, I only known them as hate and murderous intent. But I wonder, what is that bond he longed for? Now I understand, even only a little. Pain, sadness… and joy. These feelings allow you to understand others.
Kankuro is a shinobi of Sunagakure and the second eldest of the Three Sand Siblings. While initially terrified of his younger brother, Kankuro would come to believe in him and his dream to become the Kazekage like their father before them and would become one of Gaara's most loyal protectors, confidant, and bodyguard. One noticeable personality trait he displayed was an apparent dislike for children. He is also shown to be the type to avoid needless fighting, as well as being very prideful of his village. Kankuro also can be realistic at times.
Gaara… don't bother… if he could be convinced, Naruto would not have failed. He is a criminal now, a member of Akatsuki… he's not like you.
When a puppeteer lets someone else control him, it's all over! I won't lose to you… or to the one controlling you. If I'm going to control Sasori, I might as well control the real thing! …Your techniques… and the puppets you created will never rot. As long as there's a successor who will take up the spirit inhabiting them!
Temari Nara is a kunoichi of Sunagakure's Kazekage clan. She is a prudent, stoic, and blunt individual who is rarely afraid to speak her mind. Similar to her siblings, Temari is rather dismissive with a cruel streak, however, she seems to value peace as well. Despite her usual tough demeanor, she has a tendency to show a softer nature around Shikamaru. Temari cares greatly for her siblings and her greatest desire is for them to trust and rely on her.
Sacrifice is an inevitable part of missions… Didn't you receive emotion training?
Naruto… You really are a mysterious person. You have the power to change people… Lady Chiyo was always saying how she didn't care about the future of the village… She wasn't the kind of person who would do something like this for Gaara…
Zabuza Momochi, given the moniker Demon of the Hidden Mist, was a missing-nin from Kirigakure's Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist. Zabuza is aggressive, arrogant, cruel, cold, and ambitious. He willingly uses his own men and others as pawns to fulfill his ambitions, although unlike future antagonists, he was blunt about the purpose that his recruits were needed for, forgoing any form of manipulation by pretending to be benevolent to inspire loyalty. This corresponds with his cynical view of the world, which only consists of the used and the users, as well as viewing shinobi to be nothing more than tools. He is an observant adversary who is able to analyze his opponent's techniques after seeing it once but becomes overconfident if he sees the technique as useless. Despite his ruthlessness, Zabuza possesses a softer side that he himself was largely unaware of.
When you've hovered between life and death so many times that it doesn't faze you, you may be called a ninja. When you've become so deadly that your profile has been entered into my bingo book, then you may have earned the title ninja.
Shut up kid, Haku's already dead… As I was used by Gato, I used Haku. That was all. I've said it already… in the world of shinobi, there are only those who use and those whom are used. We shinobi are simply tools… what I wanted was his blood, not him… I have no regrets.
Haku was an orphan from the Land of Water, and a descendant of the Yuki clan. He later became a shinobi under Zabuza Momochi's tutelage whom he later partnered with, ultimately becoming a Mercenary Ninja. Haku is a good-hearted, compliant, and eager shinobi, believing that a person becomes truly strong when they have someone important to protect. Despite his talent for battle and incredible abilities, Haku dislikes needing to kill others in his role as a tool and avoids doing so whenever possible. When forced to face an opponent, Haku does all that he can to avoid inflicting great harm, even putting them into a death-like state to prevent them from fighting further
If possible, I don't want to have to kill you……… nor do I want you to have to kill me…… However, if you come at me……… I will kill my heart with a blade and become a true shinobi.
I want to protect the person important to me… I want to work for that person. I want to fight for that person. I want to make that person's dream come true… That is my dream.
Orochimaru is one of Konohagakure's legendary Sannin. With a life-ambition to learn all of the world's secrets, Orochimaru seeks immortality so that he might live all of the lives necessary to accomplish his task. Orochimaru possesses a complex personality; however, more often than not, he is described as "twisted" by a large number of people, including Tsunade. Becoming cruel with any good he had as a member of Team Hiruzen gone, Orochimaru's agenda made him develop a god complex and value himself while delighting in striking terror in his first impressions. Though causing conflict to ease his boredom, Orochimaru seems to have no interest in wars started by others. His charisma also attracts several followers, many of which he would not hesitate to send on potential suicide missions if for his own personal benefit, expressing some remorse if they're unable to properly complete a task, having no sentimental attachments to any of them despite their values. Despite this, Orochimaru has a genuine interest in the development of his underlings and experiments.
You just don't have enough information to explain yourself yet. Your glasses, your name, being someone's child is not something that can show who really you are. But that is fine. If you're not happy on what you have now… you can just find new things to find up. …You see, I also want to find who I really am. That's why I'm collecting a bit of everything.
What nonsense! In the grand scheme of time, you're nothing more than a trivial footnote in the brief history of a cluster of huts called "Konoha"! In time, the Hokage Stone Faces will crumble and be worn down to nothing…
Kabuto Yakushi spent most of his life as a spy working for many different individuals, organizations, and countries during his life. His natural talents in intelligence-gathering and medicine attracted the attention of Orochimaru when he was younger, who made Kabuto his right-hand man. At times, Kabuto can seem quite open, more than willing to approach people, and always confident in his own words and actions. By his own admission, he is an introvert who doesn't like to be looked at and who wants to stick to the background. He can be very critical of others, dismissing their personal desires, and outlining all the flaws he perceives them to be making. To those he feels are deserving, he is nothing but polite, regarding them with deference, using the appropriate honorifics, and chastising those who don't do the same. He can be cruel, preying on sensitive topics in order to rile someone up and punctuating his comments with sarcasm. Other times he is kind, putting himself at risk and being helpful for no immediate benefit to himself. The many contradictions of Kabuto's personality are a result of his frequent role as a spy, having spent most of his life-changing identities and loyalties in order to gather information for some organization.
After Orochimaru died, I found myself not knowing who I was, again… Without knowing parent or country, I was taken in by the enemy… Since a young age, I've moved about countries and villages as a spy… To me, things like countries, villages… they hold no firm reality in my mind. That was, of course, until I found myself under the wing of Orochimaru… but that presence is gone again. What am I anyway… The pain of not having an identity… I'd think you should understand… Naruto.
I am no longer a snake… sage power has allowed me to shed that skin… and I am a dragon now!!
Jirobo is a shinobi of Otogakure and a member of the Sound Four. Out of the Sound Four members, Jirobo is usually the most calm, sensible, and silent member, as shown by his rigid demeanor. He is polite to his teammates, which puts him at odds with Tayuya as he dislikes it when she uses foul language or calls him "fatso". Although he is never provoked by her foul language or insults, Jirobo always berates Tayuya for it whenever she did. Jirobo is rather gluttonous and tends to get hungry at all times, and stays behind to feed, which leads to him slowing down the team. He typically refers to any enemies he absorbs chakra from as his "meal" or any other food-related words. Like the rest of the Sound Five, Jirobo is arrogant and constantly refers to his enemies as "trash". In battle, he is shown to provoke his enemies. However, he isn't below showing his idea of pity, though albeit mockingly.
So, you're really the leader, huh? What a fine example you're setting the rest of your team. You'll see a man's true character when he's pushed to the edge of death. But you're hardly a man at all. Certainly not one worthy of leading a team of ninja into battle. Sacrificing Sasuke and the rest of your squad...huh, so that's how a Konoha chūnin acts. Did you really believe I let you out? You deserve to die.
I'll make short of you, then I'll hunt them for dessert!!
Kidomaru is a shinobi from Otogakure and a member of the Sound Four. He generally sees a battle as a game and displays a laid-back ease in fights. Kidomaru greatly enjoys combat and relishes in strong opponents as a source of entertainment, finding weaker opponents not worth his time and boring. Like the other members of the Sound Four, he is extremely arrogant with his opponents, though he is not as arrogant as the others. Kidomaru is shown to have a sadistic side, often playing around with the opponent too much because he prefers to have fun seeing the opponent struggle and will even laugh sometimes as he gradually becomes more brutal in his attacks. Due to this, he tends to slow down his team by overextending the battle with an opponent he is interested in and his team-mates noted that when Kidōmaru gets particularly excited he will enter the second level of his cursed seal quickly, despite knowing the dangers of using it recklessly.
I guess it was more fun this way…but now game over!!
So you're the strongest of the bunch, huh. Sheesh..you're making me want to play even more. Gotta take it slow, you know. Or else it's not as much fun...First, I need at least three minutes to toy with you before you die!
Sakon and his older brother Ukon are twin brothers from Otogakure and the apparent leader(s) of the Sound Four. Described as spiteful and confident, Sakon enjoys fighting and likes bad-mouthing the opposition. When in battle, Sakon likes to prolong the fight by toying with the opponent and using unnecessarily powerful techniques to show off. This tendency of Sakon's causes him to slow down the rest of the group whenever he gets interested in an opponent. Likewise, Ukon is described as greatly self-confident but is more quick-tempered than Sakon. The twins share a good relationship but are capable of viewing each other objectively during combat since their personalities differ from one another. Despite Sakon being more active than Ukon and is usually the main body, Sakon acknowledges his older brother's authority and faithfully obeys any orders Ukon gave him.
Stop your prattling, you little weakling. Come on, kid. I'm waiting. I wanna play do-re-mi on those ribs of yours til they crack!
You mustn't lose sight of your purpose. Life in this village is little more than bondage for you. Sever your ties to this pathetic place. If you could do that, then there will be no limit to the power you can wield. Remember your purpose!
Tayuya is a kunoichi of Otogakure and a member of the Sound Four. While occasionally very quiet, Tayuya is an overbearing and abrasive, sharp-tongued individual. She is very blunt and foul-mouthed towards most people, even towards her teammates, though they are apparently used to her behavior and usually respond with nothing more than slight irritation when insulted. Tayuya often bickers with Jirobō as he always scolds her for being "unladylike" in her speech. She typically cuts him off by calling him "fatso" in return. Tayuya is noted to have a very masculine attitude, emphasized by her mannerisms, speech, and way of dressing.
You fool. One little midget, what are you going to do? And also, look at what happened. Each time, in order to move forward, you sacrificed one of your members, didn't you? Is that guy Sasuke so precious to you? Just for the sake of one person… How many of your team members are you willing to lose? You mindless worm.
For an idiot like you, to understand the complexity of the melody isn't too bad. But there is no way that you can completely comprehend this song.
Kimimaro is the sole survivor of the Kaguya clan. Upon dedicating his life to Orochimaru, he became the leader of the formerly-named Sound Five, until he fell ill, which forced him to leave the group. Unlike the rest of his clan, Kimimaro doesn't have a particular interest in fighting or killing and sees his abilities only as a means to be of use to others. He is a calm and quiet individual who will dedicate himself to whatever mission is at hand. His gentleness is also reinforced by how empathetic and kind he is to Jugo, being one of the few people able to keep Jugo from losing control over himself.
I've realized recently… that everyone is given life for a reason. Everyone has something important to accomplish. The quest to discover what that is… …is the only freedom us humans have been given.
The reason I've yet to kill you is… you still have a mission to accomplish by staying alive. Please take put those… two trashes over there.
Mizuki is a chunin of Konohagakure and a former instructor at the Academy. Originally, Mizuki appears to be very polite and kind-hearted and is described to be a sweet man by his former fiancée, Tsubaki. In reality, he does not care for anything or anyone beyond his own rise in power. He takes pride in the fact that he is not bound by things like morals or teamwork, and is willing to sacrifice whatever he has to in order to complete his goals. His desire for power seems to come from what appears to be an inferiority complex, as he hypocritically cannot stand having anyone look down on him, despite enjoying looking down on others. Mizuki's defining characteristics are being greatly ambitious and dishonorable.
[Fake kind personality[ He wants you to be strong. With all his heart. But that will never happen if he goes easy on you. He’s like you, you know. No parents. No family.
[True personality] You know once he makes up his mind, nothing can change it. He’s going to use the scroll to take revenge on the village. You saw that look in his eye, didn’t you? Those are the eyes of a beast.
Ibara is a citizen of Konohagakure and the mother of one of the students in Naruto Uzumaki's class at the Academy. She, like other people in the village greatly dislikes Naruto, seeing him only as the Nine-Tails itself.
Ibara: There, you see him?
Tsubaki: It’s that boy. I heard he’s the only one who failed.
Ibara: Hmph! Well, it serves him right.
Tsubaki: Just imagine what would happen if he became a Ninja. (Naruto pulls his goggles down to cover his face.) I mean, he’s the boy who...
Ibara: Shh... We’re not allowed to talk about that.
