Narrator Wanted for Doctor Who: The Dalek Chronicles Comic Dubs

Narrator Wanted for Doctor Who: The Dalek Chronicles Comic Dubs

Project Overview

I am working on doing a series of Comic Dubs adapted from The Dalek Chronicles comic series, originally published in TV Century 21 Comic in the mid-to-late 60s.

The plot of the 104 issues concerns the (non-canonical) origins and rise of the Dalek Empire, and the political Machinations of the Dalek Emperor, the Red Dalek and Dalek Sec.

I will be voicing all of the Daleks, as well as most of the extras and other monsters, but I would like to have someone else as the series' Narrator, as I'd get sick of my voice within minutes.
Potential Narrators may also be asked to perform additional voices in the series, if any of you are interested.

RULES:
 - For easy contact, sending in lines - Discord would be preferred, but is not necessary.

 - Must be able to commit - If I make one issue every week, and there's 104 issues altogether, this project may go for two years at least, maybe more if I have some breaks here and there.

 - No Americans, please - Sorry, but the British Public (and Australians, and most Americans too) don't like Americans doing English accents, especially in Doctor Who.
I'm not racist or anything, I'm Australian and I can't stand Tegan Jovanka because she's Australian.

Good luck with your auditions!

I'd like either a male or female 1960s-esque BBC Narrator voice, though I'd be happy with any non-specific Narration voice.

Bare in mind there are 104 issues of The Dalek Chronicles and I plan on releasing one every week, so you'll need to be able to commit, and be available for around two years... no pressure.
You may also be called upon to perform some Additional Voices, as I would prefer to not have to do all the other voices on my own.
I would be open to having multiple Additional voices actors aside from who I cast as the narrator.
If you're interested in being considered for additional voices, please feel free to comment below your audition.
:D

DISCLAIMER: Do not influence your performance based on the picture for the Narrator - They are never visualised in the comic, so I'll just have any old picture I have lying around for them :D

  • "Deep in Hyperspace is Planet Skaro. This world is the most feared globe in the Universe. Many thousands of years ago it was already the scene of a vicious conflict."

  • "In the remote region of Darren, the Daleks perfected their terrible weapon, until War Minister Zolfian was satisfied."

  • "For two weeks, the factories at Darren were under full pressure. Then a meteorite storm entered Skaro's atmosphere. Fires began and spread to the buildings where the Neutron Bombs were stored."

Yarvelling is the creator of the Dalek Casings (Yes, I know even toddlers know Davros created the Daleks, but this is from before Davros had been created, y'see?)

After the Dalek City is destroyed in a Nuclear Holocaust, Yarvelling and Zolfian (the Dalek War Minister) travel the land in search of survivors, eventually encountering a Dalek in one of Yarvelling's travel machines.
This "Dalek Prime" then orders Yarvelling to build casings for an Army of Daleks.
Yarvelling should be played as quite nervous and raspy-voiced, and should sound kind of Elderly.
He is in Three Issues.

  • Thank you, Zolfian. I will organise their mass production
    immediately.

  • But how can we attack…? We have met not a living thing… Our
    people are all dead.

  • A new race… a new system. These
Daleks may be mutations, Zolfian, but their brains are a thousand times
    superior to ours.
