Redmond or more commonly known as "Red" is the 17 year old (soon to be 18 year old.) son of The Ral Family. Being called "Redmond" really irks him. Red can be a mystery to most. He can seem rather distant and cold, most of the time but he's really a smart, brave, kind, loyal person. He'd do anything to protect and make his sister Astrid happy, even if she annoys him at the best of times.
Eavesdropping again, huh? [casually and smugly]
Don't worry dad, I'll protect her. I promise. [calmly]
H-hey Astrid, there's something that I... need to talk to you about. [calmly]
Astrid is the 16 year old daughter of The Ral Family. She's always been curious about the world and that can be both a good and a bad trait to have. The good thing about her curiosity is that she's always had a thirst for learning, which means she's very knowledgeable. The bad side about her trait is that she's a little too curious for her own good, which sometimes can land her into trouble, you'll often find her eavesdropping on conversations. She enjoys to annoy and tease her brother. She just loves her brother to pieces but often feels like she's hidden in his shadow.
(Red catches her eavesdropping.) *gasps* Red! Oh I was just- *laughs nervously* I was uh... *sighs* okay fine, you caught me!
None of your business Redmooonnnd! [smugly]
Papa there's something that I- (Walter keeps his head down working) Papa? Dad?! PAPA! *sighs* Ugh, you never listen!! (Astrid slams the door angrily.)
Walter is the father of Redmond and Astrid Ral. Walter is a person who likes his privacy and that can be challenge with being a beloved author. People are constantly trying to find out more about his personal life and with him being so private and "mysterious" that only increases the public's curiosity. He's a caring father who'd anything for his children's happiness and safety, he loves his kids to bits but he doesn't always know the best way of showing his affection towards them.
*sighs* What am I going to do? [stressed]
Red, can have a word with you please.
(Astrid slams the door angrily.) Huh, Astrid! wait I- *sighs* [concerned]
Genus is an old friend of Walter Ral. He's a crazily, eccentric scientist and the inventor of tons of odd machinery. His personality is just like his lab chaotic to say the least, his mood can change at the drop of a hat. He's Newton's father and the adoptive father of Rose and Mia. Then there's his darling wife Franny, she's not only his partner in life but she's also his lab partner. He's really devoted to his family/friends and would put them first before anything else.
(rummaging through his messy lab.) Now where did I put that- hmm.. aha! Gotcha! Huh? (knocks a bookshelf over in the process.) Gaaahhh!!
(trapped under bookshelf) *sighs* ugh don't worry honey, I-I'm (struggles) *huff* fine!
Genus speaking, huh? Walter?! Wow it's been so long, how are you?! [happily]
Franny is Genus' loving wife and lab partner. She's an empathetic, quiet, soft spoken character. If something's troubling ever you then she's the best person to turn to if you need to talk. She's constantly worried about her kids and if she's being a good mother to them. You definitely don't want to get on her bad side though, she can have a real temper especially if you mess with any of her loved ones.
(*Hears a booming crash noise* Runs downstairs to see her husband stunk underneath a bookshelf.) *gasps* Genus?! Honey are you okay?! what happened?! [concerned and in shock]
*sighs* I know honey, I just- can't help but worry about him...
If you ever need to talk you known I'm always here.
Newton is the 16 year old son of Genus and Franny. He's an energetic, carefree, independent and an adventurous guy who's always out late. His mother has grown concerned about him because she doesn't know where he goes off to half the time. His distance from his family now has really strained the relationship between him and his mother. Which has really upset him because they have a lot in common and they were so close when he was a child. He also shares a lot of her traits being empathetic, soft spoken and having a temper. He's close with his two adoptive sisters but even with them he's a little distant. He doesn't care that they're not related by blood, he loves them nonetheless.
Hiya, I'm Newton. Nice to meet you. So, where are you two heading to? [friendly and cheerfully]
*sighs* Look, I'm fine really. [irritated]
*sighs* I'm so sorry... [stressed and upset]
Mia is the 18 year old adoptive daughter of Genous' and Franny. She's a strong, loyal, determined, driven, independent, out spoken character. She has a monotone voice. She mostly doesn't let her past effect her. She's so grateful to Genous and Franny for taking her in and giving her a second chance in life. If you want to get close to her you have to earn her trust and respect first. She's the type of person who'll always find a way even when life gets tough. She's very protective of her family because of her unfavorable past.
Newton, where on earth have you been?! [annoyed]
Why you ungrateful piece of SHI- [angry and shocked]
Who are you? [standoffish]
Rose is the 15 year old adoptive daughter of Genus and Franny. She's a soft spoken, shy, introverted, private person. She's reluctant to trust people due to her past. She doesn't know where she'd be if it wasn't for Genus and Franny taking her in. The only people she really trusts in the world are her adoptive family. If you're one of the lucky few people she trusts you'll find that she's a really quirky and clumsy person.
Um... H-hello I'm Rose. [nervously]
Mia, is everything okay you seem a bit... tense. [caring and nervously]
*sighs* There's nothing like a good book and a nice cup of tea. [relaxed and happily]
Violet is the main antagonist of the series. She's a mysterious character. Her personality is varied to say the least. One minute she's acting child like, very sweet, innocent and then the next minute she's flirtatious, sly, manipulative and mischievous. She's a nightmare to work with, she doesn't care about anything other than that she gets her own way and that there's something for her own personal benefit. She hates if anyone talks back or disobeys her. She doesn't care about how most perceive her. She really admires Maxim.
Graham did I ask for your opinion? hmm? [condescending] No... So, stay. out. of. it! [irritated]
Oh Maxim, what would I do without you? *hums happily*
*clears her throat* Graham, could you fetch us some tea? Now where were we? [flirtatious]
Graham is Violet's loyal servant. He's an intelligent, handsome, flawless, skilled, cunning man. He'd do anything for his mistress no matter how ruthless she can be. He always tries to help and advise her in any way he can, much to her distaste. He disapproves of her relationship with Maxim (you'll find out his reasoning for this later in the series.) and that irks her to no end.
As you wish mi'lady. [calmly]
Welcome to the Myth Manor, Lord Maxim. [disinterested]
*grits his teeth* Right away Lord Maxim. [irritated yet calm]
The best word to explain Maxim's past and current situation is "perplexing". His demeanor is really calm, it's almost unnerving how calm he is. There's always this intense, uncomfortable atmosphere that he brings to a room. He's been known to use people and being manipulative. He always seems peculiar, provocative, disinterested, aloof and occasionally alluring/flirtatious. You do not want to get on his bad side, if you thought his normal intense presence was bad well you've got another thing coming when he's actually angry.
That'd be lovely my dear. [flirtatious]
That woman *laughs quietly to himself*
You should know your place Graham. [calm yet intimidating]
Julie is a train hostess, yes it's not the best job in the world but she enjoys it. She's a really happy, bubbly, extroverted girl. She's really kind and dedicated to her job. She's determined to do her best and really well and go the extra mile to make people happy.
