Project Overview
Also known as "nerd queen", Shizuku Mizutani does a favor for problem child Haru Yoshida, who sits next to her in school. He rapidly develops a huge crush on her. Attracted to his innocence, she eventually falls for him too, but...? (Important note: This is based off the manga)

Shizuku was called "Dry Ice" in grade school, was a loner and was not ashamed of it. She is cold and sometimes inconsiderate, as inherited from her mother.
[bored] Yes, Natsume-san is immature. So what else is new?
[emotionless] Oh... that's not the problem. My mom should be coming home tomorrow. I'm going to give her a full report about what a good student I've been this year.
[outraged] Haru! I thought I told you to stop putting weird things in people's school-bags!

Although he intially uses him, Kenji is one of Haru's friends. He attends the same cram school as Shizuku and he falls in love with her, later trying to win her affection. After being rejected by Shizuku, he distances himself from her despite his unchanged feelings.
[serious] Shut up. Stay out of this, Dumbelina.
[teasing] What's that, Haru? You're all by yourself now? Poor thing. You just keep drifting. Drift far, far away?
[angry] Yo, why is it that whenever I call you, it goes straight to voice mail?

He is Haru's cousin. Mitsuyoshi acts as a father figure for Haru, looking affectionately after him. Haru (and later Asako) calls him Mi-chan. Mitsuyoshi often goes on trips with Haru and his friends, later earning the attention of Asako Natsume.
[agitated] What did you want me to do? You want me to date a high school girl?
[calm] You never change, Haru. Why is going ballistic your only M.O.? That's why your dad has so much trouble with you.
[normal] Oh, man, sounds bad. But I'm glad you're doing okay. Y'know since you were kind of depressed on New Year's.

Haru appears to be a violent, usually has a short fuse and an intimidating person even though he means well. As the plot progresses, it is revealed that his aggressiveness is a front; he is actually quite innocent, naive and very clueless.
[shaking voice] Shi-Shizuku! Ah! My legs feel weak! I can't move! Take me with you to the classroom!
[sighs] ...Sometimes I think you think I'm an idiot.
[normal] I just thought, "Whoa, if they actually get married, then we'll be related!"

Natsume is unintelligent, has low grades, and spends a lot of her time on the Internet. Before meeting her friends, Natsume was asocial because her looks and personality attracted a lot of boys (which made the girls around her jealous and avoid her). Because of this, she treats her looks like a curse.
[yelling] Mitty!! Could you— Could you be a little more discreet?!!
[afraid] Wh-When you have that scary look on your face, it makes me worried that you hate me!!
[snotty] I believed in myself. I mean, I'm so cute! And up until now, boys always liked me whether I wanted them to or not!

She is very shy, a little pessimistic and timid, and even though she likes Haru, she always gives him advice when he can't understand Shizuku. She's also very quiet, kind and most of the time has a gentle way of saying things.
[calm] When you're choosing a present... don't choose something you want to give her. Choose something you think would make her happy.
[stuttering] Oh, s-sorry. Yes, I did want to see you today. It won't take long.
[sighs] It's not like that, Yü-chan. I'm not deferring to anyone.
