Monster Hunter: World — Voiced Protagonist Project 1.0 (Machinima / Cutscenes / Modding)
Project Overview
● WHAT IS MONSTER HUNTER?
Monster Hunter: World is an action role-playing game developed and published by CAPCOM in 2018. In the game, the player takes the role of a Hunter, a silent protagonist who is tasked to hunt down and either kill or trap monsters that roam the land and that have been considered as a threat to the Research Commission. The game received critical acclaim by critics and fans alike and is still quite popular to this day.
The story is set in a fantastical world where the Research Commission has sent out several fleets over the course of forty years to a continent branded as the "New World". Researchers and explorers are drawn to this land in order to learn more about its unique ecosystem and its mysterious link to the Elder Dragons. It is in this story where a young hunter and her faithful companion uncover the truth behind said mystery and aid the Commission in many arduous tasks as a means to bring an end to the ultimate calamity.
● WHAT IS THE POINT OF THIS PROJECT?
The game follows the typical "silent protagonist" trope. This means that the main character will never speak or properly engage with the other characters. I personally find this a little distracting, so I thought it'd be worth spending some time in a project like this. It's also the perfect opportunity for me to better experiment with sound design. This is also one way to make the main character feel like she's alive and add a little more context behind what's going on.
This project will cover most of the game's cutscenes and provide the main and supporting characters a voice in order to turn the experience a little more immersive. I will also add in some post-production adjusts to the scenes and fix some other minor hiccups (texture popping, for example).
Supposedly, there won't be that much dialogue apart from some lines here and there. When it comes to the main character, most of what is needed are grunts, gasps, cries of pain and some improvisation. Some sequences will have to be made completely from scratch as an attempt to connect all of the scenes together (which is why new characters will be necessary).
● WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?
People interested in lending their voices to the character must meet certain requirements in order to be accepted. I don't want to be too picky, but in order to avoid too many differences from the existing voices in-game... the following should be be kept in mind:
- must be from an English-speaking country or possess the correct dialect to pass as such;
- must be willing to respect the source material and attempt to match the character's disposition as advised or shown on screen;
- must be willing to re-participate in the project due to the possibility of reshoots in the long-run (not all that likely);
- must be able to record their lines without too much interference (such as background noise);
- must be willing to provide several takes if needed (two or three takes per most lines, no point in overdoing it);
- must be willing to send their files in a familiar coding format for digital audio (mp3, wav, wma, flac);
- must be willing to use the file-transfer websites (such as wetransfer.com) and provide a means of contact outside of castingcall.club such as e-mail or Discord;
● THAT'S IT?
I think this about covers it. The final project will also include voice mods for the game and will also be featured as a full-length film rendered at 2560 x 1440 and be made available on YouTube. I might also be able to share an uncompressed copy to those who participated.
Good luck to everyone!

Sad to see this isn't getting as much attention as I had hoped for, but I'm still gonna leave it open for a while longer and see how it goes.

STILL LOOKING!
This project hasn't received all that much attention, but I'm still looking! I've extended the deadline just in case. -
PROJECT HAS OPENED
The project is now open! I'll keep recording more and more scenes from the game and begin editing. In the meanwhile I'm hoping to see more people joining up!
Ezima is the depiction of what the protagonist of Monster Hunter: World would look like. She, just like many other youngsters at that time, joined the Fifth Fleet in order to explore the New World and to prove her worth by aiding the Guild in their investigations. She's just as eager as all the other hunters and knows her fair share in combat. Ezima is not too talkative, but gets her point across when needed. She can also be a little silly at times, given the eastern influence that this game has. Her voice is supposed to be lower (not too low, though) and not as squeaky.

"Hey there. No, I don't know much about the theories. I just got enlisted like everyone else."
"You got a minute? I couldn't help but notice you were all alone. I figured I'd ask if you'd like to team up?"
"Gah! Hold on! Grab my hand, it's just a little further!"
