Project Overview
About the project: "Monster Hunter: the Lost Civilization", written by dashboardgecko, is an action/adventure fanfiction set in the Monster Hunter universe, primarily focused around Monster Hunter Tri and its expansion Ultimate. It currently stands as one of the most popular Monster Hunter fanfictions on FF.net, as well as one of its longest. Because of this, the project team has decided to divide the fanfiction into several parts for the sake of production time and quality. The radio-play will be released in a audio-book format, with an omniscient narrator to keep the action paced, and to hold a better sway over the narrative without confusing or leaving the audience behind. The finished parts will be uploaded to the project's youtube page on a bi-monthly basis, so please make sure you have the time to commit to this project before auditioning.
Source Summary:
Since beyond living memory, great and fantastic beasts have roamed the world, and mankind has fought them; some for glory, some to protect others, but always the monsters have been there. But when legions of mysterious people appear, engulfed in strange blue light, bearing deep wounds of both mind and body, strange things begin to happen, and a darkness unlike any other awakens.

A mysterious, mountain of a man, no one knows where Filcher's intentions lie though they are certainly not on the Guild's side. Ruthless and uncompromising, this crimson clad hammer user is a monster himself with every swing.
Voice Type: Low, as he is around the same age as Marshall, but with a much more arrogant and powerful tone to his voice.
"(Condescending) Well, I'm quite dissapointed myself."
"(Arrogant Rumbling Laughter. Like you're looking down on someone inferior.)"
"Well now, where was this fury earlier?! Perhaps you're not worth playing with after all!"
There is no real Hippocratic oath in the country of Theron, so doctors are oftentimes more terrifying than the monsters that hunters face.
And while Orson is a caring and effective doctor, he has also earned a reputation of threatening his patients with further injury should they forgo their recovery period.
Voice Type: Medium Low/Low, professional, and caring, but be ready to switch to a threatening tone in an instant.
"(Worried) You said this wasn't caused by physical trauma?"
"You said the Lost came from somewhere without monsters."
'Guild Sweetheart' and record's keeper for Boma Village. While she doesn't take part in hunts, she's always someone to come to for advice on weapons, monster, hunting areas, and seasonal information.
In spite of her very important job, she's still prone to being a gossip and a flirt.
Voice Type: Medium/ Medium High, calm but can be high spirited (please no valley Girl voices)
"(Calm/Wary) When a Rathalos tries to lay claim to a territory, the first thing they will do is wipe out anything that might prove a threat to its supremacy. Lagiacrus, Diablos, etc. But in an inhabited area, they'll decide that humans are the most dangerous threat, and when that happens, its goal becomes to...destroy the nest."
"(Teasing to Marshall) I was wondering when you would let those two fight something with more moxie than Jaggies."
In this world, there are many stories. Vast they are in number, matched only in multitude by the number of those people who have the desire to tell them. For hundreds and thousands of years, we have collected them.
The man stared back at the great white drake of the north, as the beast emitted a low guttural growl that carried over the snow despite the wind's howl. Fear finally showed in the man's face as he took in the appearance of the beast before him. The pain his arm was momentarily forgotten at the realization of the threat before him.
But the man would have to die. His madness had to be snuffed out. With a bark of aggression, the Barioth gave the madman his fair warning before crouching to charge forward. Snuff out the disease it thought, remove the malady.
Felyne aide who often works around Ellie's and Levin's homes in Boma. Like all felynes, he's not afraid to get dirty for his job, and is more of an altruist when it comes to helping out others; he still welcomes tips however.
Voice Type: Medium High/ High, very mascot-esque voice, cat-like. Be ready to interject some nya! into your speech.
"That's right, nya! Name's Leif, Miss Eleanor."
"(Proud) In small towns like this, with no real security measures protecting houses from intruders, loyal felynes act as a line of defense to protect your possessions from thieves while you are out."
While he is easygoing and wisecracking as a friend, he can be a berserker as a hunter when wielding a greatsword. As Marshall's protege, he has had time to adjust himself to Theron and now serves as a partner to Eleanor's own trials as a fellow apprentice.
Voice: Medium/Medium-Low and carry a upbeat, friendly tone to your voice.
I like her. She's got attitude. Makes girls fun to mess with if they bite back.
(Serious) You think being fearless will keep you going? What are you trying to gain from hunting monsters, a pile of corpses? You can't just go around killing everything for the sake of convincing yourself you aren't afraid of them.
(Battle roar. Imagine the effort of swinging a massive sword.)
Kerrigan hates formalities, even from her student, and the fact that she doesn't gain much respect from other because of her age. In spite of this, she is assertive enough to stand up for herself when the time calls for it and would gladly be the first to throw a punch.
Voice Type: Medium/Medium-low, commanding, informal tone
That won't work, you know. Once he's in deep like that, he won't respond to anyone's words.
I've got to say, I'm still drawing a blank. I've lived in Loc Lac most of my life, but I've never heard of this Marshall guy.
(Annoyed Muttering) Jerks, the both of you.
Unlike many hammer users in the world, he never uses anger as a lever for his attacks and , like his conduct with his friends and family, prefers a calm and calculated approach to hunting. In spite of his age, he carries a deep amount of presence to his voice.
Voice Type: Low, a tone that commands respect but is not imposing.
So you're aiming to become a hunter, are you?
(Sarcasm) Yes, exactly. But I suppose a former hunter wouldn't retire to a place that is too peaceful, now would they?
(Stern) You and Levin are going to do nothing until you recover.
Harker keeps to a very calm and even soothing demeanor, like a scientist studying and observing, but once he's excited for a discovery he switches to a more curious and even scarily inquisitive tone. In spite of this, he is surprisingly considerate of others, particularly his master Kerrigan, and doesn't mind the label of crazy he has accrued.
Voice Type: Medium and don't go too overboard with the excited tone.
Allow me to introduce myself. The name is Harker. Zoologist, anthropologist, entomologist, ornithologist, botanist, chemist, physicist, or anything else that happens to take my fancy at the time.
Quite the caring mother hen, isn't she?
(Excited) Those are filled with weapons and armor right? And the materials to make more, of course?
A dauntless fencer with a long-sword, this cunning man seems to be the brains to Filcher's brawn.
Voice Type: Medium-Low, keep an aloof, by-the-books tone to his voice.
"(Directed at Filcher) Just get them out of the way. We're not here to cause trouble, not with them at least."
"(Sarcasm) Try not to attract attention."
"Is that all there is to you? Battle? The urge to fight and kill? Do you want us dead that much?"
Because of her traumatic experience, she carries a great hatred for monsters which manifests as a sadistic coldness during hunts. In spite of this, she is smart and fast enough to assess most hunting situations, as well a crackshot with a bowgun.
Voice Type: Medium, calm but confident tone.
(Sleepy) I told you...call me Eleanor.
(Panic/Anger) I can't let them live! They'll kill people! They'll kill us if they see us! I won't let that happen!
I guess she decided that she would take it upon herself to...improve the armor's design for the sake of fashion.
