Project Overview
This is a fan series adaptation of The Misadventures of Misfit and Mieko.
Misfit is an ill-fated black cat cursed with bad luck. His best friend, Mieko, is a beckoning cat blessed with good fortune by the seven spirits of luck. Journey with them through the seven kingdoms of Misako as they try to remove the curse and search for the mysterious Torii gates. Beyond the gates lies the realm of spirits and monsters in which the seven dwell.
I must legally disclose that there is no connection to the original creator, Paris Beauchamp, and no characters are created originally by me.

Misfit / Lackey

Age: 23 years old
Personality: Misfit is a black cat cursed with extraordinarily bad luck. Despite his misfortunes, he maintains a resilient and optimistic attitude. He often finds himself in bizarre and dangerous situations, yet his perseverance and courage shine through. Misfit's journey is one of self-discovery, friendship, and the quest to break his curse.
Appearance: Misfit is depicted as a slender black cat with expressive eyes and a distinctive scarf. His design emphasizes his unique and unfortunate nature, setting him apart in the world of Misako.
Background: Misfit hails from a lineage plagued by bad luck. His family resides in a precarious home, constantly at risk due to his misfortunes. Seeking a way to end his curse, Misfit embarks on an adventure through the seven kingdoms of Misako, aiming to find the mysterious Torii gates and confront the spirits that govern luck.

Mieko
Major Character
Species: Cat
Age: 21 years old
Personality: Mieko is an upbeat and cheerful cat blessed with incredibly good luck. Raised by a homeless dog named Jarvis, Jarvis's life was turned around when he discovered Mieko's mystical luck. While the advantages are gigantic, he feels isolated because he speculates that individuals are drawn to him only due to his luck. In search of a more real life, Mieko eloped from home and abandoned his life. He then found Misfit, and their path together is one of support and individual development.
Appearance: Mieko is a cream-colored, thin cat with white eyes. The most noticeable thing on him is a bell on his neck, a memento from his ancestor, Jin.
Background: Found by Jarvis as an infant in a basket, Mieko was nursed and raised tenderly and lovingly. But as he grew older, he felt sensitive about his superhuman good luck and the envy that came with it. Feeling more like a trophy than a person, Mieko decided to depart from his adoptive father and lead a life where he could be cherished for who he was. His journeys took him to Misfit, and with them, they embarked on quests across the seven kingdoms of Misako, seeking to break each of their curses and find the Torii gates.

Lady Luck / Peni
Major Character
Species: Cat
Age: 20 years old
Personality: Peni, or Lady Luck, is a complex personality with her own inner conflict and weights of accumulated acts. She starts out as the bad girl, but her journey reveals a deep need to be purged of bad acts and emotional longing for genuine connection. Deep inside this tough girl are vulnerabilities as Peni navigates the consequences of what she did and what was done to her.
Appearance: Peni is a skinny cat who has typical features that characterize her. She has soft-colored fur, and she wears a hooded cloak that covers her face to conceal her identity. A unique piece of attire is the lucky cat bell that she wears, symbolizing her heritage as well as the abilities that have been given to her.
Background: Peni, brought up young by her authoritative father Himitsu, became a powerful agent named Lady Luck who had the power to control luck. Once devoted to her father's schemes, she begins questioning herself regarding her mission and morals. Her encounters with Misfit and Mieko reflect her inner conflict, taking her on a path of loyalty versus righteousness, specifically through her evolving relationship with Misfit.
