Misao v2.0

Misao v2.0

Project Overview

It's been three months since the mysterious disappearance of Misao. No one has any idea where she could have gone, but many believe she's dead by now. And when paranormal events crop up around the school, rumors spread that she's out for revenge...

 * This game contains grotesque imagery and depicts violence, murder, bullying, and sexual assault. Be warned that there are also many scenes in which characters do and say unpleasant things. Playing this game is strictly forbidden for those unable to make a clear distinction between reality and fantasy.

▂▃▄▅▆▇█▓▒░ATTENTION░▒▓█▇▆▅▄▃▂

I REALLY want this project to get started and out there. Therefore I'm gonna lay out some rules you ABSOLUTELY NEED TO FOLLOW!!

𝟙. Have at least decent quality microphone. This means completely background noise or such -free. It is harder for me to edit out the lines if there's background noise coming from your end.

𝟚. Have a pop-filter on your microphone. If you cannot afford for pop-filter, there's tons of D-I-Y guides on the internet for so called "replacement" diy pop-filters.

𝟛. The lines MUST BE delivered BEFORE deadline. NOT after the set deadline. If you CANNOT deliver the lines in time or are unable to do them, NOTE me about it at least week BEFORE deadline so I can (if need be) find a replacement on that time. And most of all;

𝟜. I'm looking a SOLID people for the roles. The ones that are COMMITED to do the lines before deadline. If you get selected, that means I expect YOU to be COMMITED for the role(s). If you plan on auditioning and you get selected, and then decide to not keep ANY contact to me afterwards, I WILL give the role to the second most votes gotten person. I have NO time to be waiting and pondering if you don't keep me any touch afterwards. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but I NEED commited people to do the job.

With that rant out of the way, enjoy auditioning! :)

Role assigned to: lt daffy

Hideki Sohta is the former teacher of Aki's class. He is known by his students to be a "kind and caring" teacher, when in reality this is false. He is described as a suave and handsome man. He seems to have a hand fetish as well. Sohta wears a suit as his work uniform and parts his sand colored hair. While he was still attending high school, Sohta was considered unattractive and was bullied for it in school.

  • It's alright Ayaka! The monsters are gone now.

  • You've got guts to ignore my lecture! This information is vital for the test. [Much later in the game] Why... Why does no one accept me?!

  • [Teenager Mr. Sohta, nerdy] A cat? It's wounded. You look so fragile...I need to get you to a hospital...! Hang in there! I'm going to help you!

Ayaka is a minor/supporting role in Misao. In the Truth, she was resurected by Onigawara.

-Before the Curse-
After the player comes to school and attends class, the player gets to meet Ayaka during break, who is labeled as Aki's best friend and a 'fad follower'. She is shown babbling on and on about Mr. Sohta, her obsessive crush, while Aki states that she doesn't really care about Ayaka's current craze. In retaliation, Ayaka teases Aki on her crush on Tohma, whom she believes is just a flirty player.

-The Curse Begins-

After being teleported elsewhere, the player can find Ayaka in the teacher's offices, snooping around Mr. Sohta's desk. Still obsessed, Ayaka tells the player that she found love letters to 'HER' Mr. Sohta, and ignores the player's advice to find somewhere safe to hide.

-Finding Misao's Dismembered Parts-

At some point in the game, Ayaka discovers one of Misao's parts in Mr. Sohta's possession. This prompts her crush to effectively kill her in cold blood, despite not being one of the sacrifices required for the ritual to save Misao's soul. When Aki returns to the infirmary, Mr. Sohta explains that a monster had invaded and slaughtered her instead, showing Aki an injury from the 'supposed' beast and giving Aki one of Misao's parts, Misao's hands. this should be expected considering the fact that Mr. Sohta has a hand fetish.

  • Did you hear? I did! Apparently Mr Sohta has a hand fetish. So maybe if I wash my hands and keep them clean constantly he'll like me more!

  • Phah! You have no eye for men, Natasha. Like, seriously, what do you see in a seducer like Tohma?

  • [Horrifiedly] A-Ahh...H...Help...!

Role assigned to: The Tactician Musician

Tohma is a minor/supporting role in Misao. He was the classmate of Misao until she mysteriously disappeared. It is hinted that he returned the romantic feelings Misao held for him.

Throughout the game, Tohma is shown to have a somewhat cocky and selfish personality - he can also be a bit flirty, as shown by compliments towards Aki whilst in her presence. However, this 'flirtiness' is seen through by the player early on in the game when Tohma abandons his presumed girlfriend, "Otome", and leaves her to be attacked and torn apart by a monster in a bathroom. A true coward in that sense, the player can eventually find him cowering in the corner of a classroom after having been scared by the bathroom monster. His confident personality reappears when he angrily defends his belief that Otome's demise was not due to his own cowardice.

  • [Mockingly] Misaaao, please don't curse usss! The rest are fair gaaame, thooough!

  • You make the best lunches, Otome! You'd make a great wife. Mine, obviously!

  • [Yelling/Shouting (basically imagine seeing a scary monster)] A-Ahh...Gh...WAAAAAUUUUUGH!

Role assigned to: baylaust

Onigawara is the fictitious student council president at Aki and Misao's school and a supporting character in the Misao game who guides the player in the same manner as Library.

Strangely enough, even when the school comes under Misao's curse, Onigawara continues to act in a calm and courteous fashion befitting a student council president. Thus, it should be noted that Onigawara doesn't seem the type to be easily fazed, since he wasn't very surprised or affected by what was happening to the school during the game's events. (This could be, however, an allusion that Onigawara knew it was going to happen, or was more involved than originally seen.)

  • Well...It's a curse.

  • She is always in the library, so we call her Miss Library!

  • Allow me to introduce myself. I am the student council president, Onigawara.

Ms. Library is the fictitious vice-president of the Student Council and most likely the assistant of Onigawara. She is also a guiding force in the game much like Onigawara and a minor/supporting character. Like Aki, players can name her, though Novella is her default name (Director's note: OR you can call her Aya since there's a scene where it shows similarity of Aya from Mad Father).

Library is a timid, but upbeat girl. Even so, she can get angry easily, and takes out that anger violently (shown in one of the bad endings). She is afraid of humans, but takes interest in Aki, hinting that Aki might not be human. This reason also supports the fact that she has a close bond with Onigawara, due to him not being a human.

  • It's messed up and gunked up and funked up! The foundation and everything is wrecked, and I haven't been able to find any exits! Plus, evil spirits are going and attacking people! I saw a student killed before my eyes! I'll never be able to eat hamburgers again! Oh, it was frightening...

  • Then give me a name, Aki! A wonderful name!

  • But I mean, I love books, so I'm always in the library! Heheh... I guess it runs in the family!

Misao is the tragic heroine and titular character of the game. She is noted throughout the game as being friendless and lonely. Misao went "missing" three months before the game began.

At the beginning, the only known information regarding Misao is that she had mysteriously vanished three months before the game, with many of her classmates believing that Misao was already dead. In addition to that, a conversation overheard by the player from other classmates (Tohma, Yoshino, Saotome, and Kudoh) reveals that she may have had a crush on Tohma and was bullied by Yoshino before her disappearance. After, several strange paranormal events began and it's discussed amongst the others that these may have been Misao's doing. When Tohma jokingly and mockingly asks Misao to 'spare' him from her wrath, Misao unleashes a true curse and sends the school, and everyone in it, spiraling into an otherworldly realm filled with terrifying monsters and ghosts.

Misao originally contacts the player through their dreams and minds, asking them to "help" and "find her". When she enacts the curse, the player is the only one who can still hear her voice, continually pressing the character to find her.

  • [Sinister/demonic like, to horrified and apologetic Kudoh (if I remember right)] Die! Die already! Spineless! Die, die, die! Die in a fire! Burn in hell!

  • [Middle School Misao] (panting, to Kudoh) Why are you getting ahead of me? Let's go home together!

  • [Young Misao] (Crying, to young Kudoh) Takeshi kept teasing me...

[Prepare yourself for here comes the longest bio of both of them ever! However the lines comes from female Aki. I'm too lazy to search male Aki's lines xP Also if I end up as playing female Aki, I will call her "Natasha"]

Aki Narukami (default name) is the protagonist of Misao. Aki is noted as being an ordinary high school student. Unlike most of their classmates, they alone off-campus. The player is given the choice to name the protagonist themselves; however, Aki is the default name.

In the Misao book published in July, the title reads "Case files of Narukami Aki". In Japanese, surnames are supposed to be said first as a courtesy act. Therefore, Aki's full, canon name is "Aki Narukami".

Aki was selected exclusively by Misao to find her and redeem her soul. This is because Aki had at least one interaction with her in the entirety of being classmates, none of which seemed to be negative. As no one really talked to Misao besides to condescend, Aki was the only one to talk to her in an inviting dialect. Misao first contacts Aki by appearing through dreams, and after sending the school into The Otherworld, Aki has visions/hallucinations of Misao's words; "HELP ME FIND ME" strewn about in a repeating pattern, written in blood.

Aki proceeds to scream as they lose composure under the pressure, and loses consciousness after presumably mental trauma, or being flung against an object, physical trauma, causing them to pass out. They wake up in the care of Onigawara in the Student council room. After a short briefing, Aki sets out to redeem Misao's soul.

As shown through a note on a bulletin board in a hallway, whichever gender of Aki isn't in use by the player claims that they're "always watching over" the current Aki in use. In the case of Male Aki, Female Aki will reach out beyond the spiritual realm and possess Male Aki, when need be.

Due to the aggressive and bullying nature of Yoshino, and the reaction of ecstasy acquired by examining Yoshino's mangled corpse, it is safe to assume that Aki was bullied by Yoshino enough to wish her gone/dead.

Throughout the game, Female Aki is shown as a kind and accepting individual, showing mercy to even Sohta when she learns of his murderous past. She is also quick to point out the wrongdoings of others, but will do her best to comfort anyone they see being upset. On the other hand, she does have a dark side, as she has no problem committing murder herself. This dark side is not apparent in her male counterpart, as he hesitates to commit the murders necessary to appease Misao.

In situations where Male Aki needed to murder Sohta/Tohma, he is unable to do it himself, due to extreme hesitation. If he decides that he should kill Tohma, he will leave the library, on the verge of tears, apologizing to Misao for being unable to do anything, and following, will hear struggling in the library. He later figures out that Tohma and Library got in a fight, and she killed him.

If Male Aki decides to kill Sohta, an unknown being (presumably Female Aki) will possess his body, forcing him to kill Sohta.

It is noteworthy, that unlike Male Aki, Female Aki never curses or swears; this is likely because since she's partially demon, she wouldn't be as emotionally affected at stressful events as someone without the soul of a demon.

  • [Gleefully] Oops! Totally forgot about saving Yoshino! Tee-hee!

  • [embarrassed] I-I never said I liked anyone! I just think Tohma is kinda cool...

  • Kudoh! You're hurt! Are you alright?!

Kudoh

Role assigned to: vengeance

Kudoh is Aki's classmate and also Misao's childhood friend. The two grew apart as they became older. Kudoh distanced himself from Misao due to the fact that his class mates made fun of him for hanging out with a girl, and that Yoshino was bullying Misao and that Kudoh didn't want to also be bullied, similar to Aki.

Kudoh is depicted as a 'calm and early-maturing youth' when he was first introduced in the opening cutscene in Aki's classroom. The creator of the game stated that Kudoh is supposed to be a contrast to Tohma's wild personality, so he is rather gloomy yet he has a strong moral compass (which is first displayed when Kudoh helped Misao when she was bullied as a child). However, he is rather cowardly due to the fact that he abandoned Misao so he wouldn't seem stupid in front of his friends in middle school. In high school, Kudoh is shown to be rational and much more mature than the others in his class. He is shown to be very empathetic (shown in his death cutscene where he talks about Misao to Aki) but he is rather hateful of others (especially if they're horrible to others) and self-deprecating also. He also doesn't say much unless it's required.

  • There was also the glass in the third floor hallway being broken from the inside...

  • [Apologetic, remembering the past] When I learned that Misao was being bullied, I didn't help her... And now... I'm sorry, Misao... Sorry I couldn't help you... I'll be there soon...

  • [before getting hit brutally by a car (if my memory serves right), Shouting out to Misao's "mirage"] FORGIVE ME, MISAOOOOOOO!

Saotome, or "Otome", was a classmate of Aki and Misao. She was also the then-girlfriend of Tohma before he abandoned her to die at the hands of a monster.

Since Saotome died early on in the game, not much is known about her personality. However, judging from the first conversation she was seen in, it can be assumed that Saotome was acting like the stereotypical girlfriend. She often would cry out in fright at certain things, such as Yoshino's accounts of the supernatural occurrences around school, and cling to Tohma in an effort to be comforted. The initial assessment of her personality seemed sweet and naive.

This would prove to be an act as Saotome took part in the bullying of her classmate, Misao, who was also in love with Tohma. Despite encouraging and helping them, Saotome continued to play innocent about her behavior until the game's events.

  • [A little scared, yet playfully] Eeeek! I'm scared~!

  • [Legit scared cuz the monster is about to kill her, Yelling] YAAAAH! S-Stay awaaay!

  • [Pleading help from Tohma, still on same scene] Tohma! HEEEELP!

Role assigned to: seronneth

Yoshino was the leader of the bullies in Aki's/Akito's and Misao's school. She can be considered a minor/supporting character in the game, but she was a major player in Misao's disappearance and eventual death.

Before and during the events of the game, Yoshino was a mean-spirited girl who often bullied and picked on others that were weaker than her, Misao included. She could come off as sarcastic, but her overall demeanor was that of a typical bully: intimidating and pushy. However, her acts of bullying eventually escalated into outright cruelty, to the point where she coerced a male student to rape Misao in a bathroom stall.

In Truth, it's revealed that Yoshino had learned that Misao had a crush on Tohma. Yoshino herself had a crush on Tohma, and her feelings of jealousy were what caused her to start tormenting Misao. She can also be noted as a gossip during the initial conversation at the beginning of the game, talking to the others about the strange things happening at school after Misao's disappearance.

  • [faking innocence] Me~? Whatever did I do?

  • [scared, being tied up on a operating table] Aki! W-Whew...! H-Help...!

  • [In the flashback when Misao is having her revenge on her, crying, sobbing, begging for mercy] Forgive me! Forgive me, Misao! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!
