Project Overview
Minutes is a 7-8 minute short film being produced by Studio Penrose. The production will utilize a handful of body actors and production team members. Like our previous productions, Minutes will be filmed in Virtual Reality using motion capture/animation technology.
The film follows Sera, an office worker, who is on the daily route to their dull 9-5 workplace. After settling into their cubicle, an emergency announcement broadcasts on all televisions in the building stating that an unexpected blast was intending to strike in under 10 minutes. Sera realizes that she only has a few minutes to spare before her time is over, so she begins to see the world around her through a different lens and appreciates what she had during her lifetime.
The film was inspired by a team member’s dream which they wanted to create into a story. They hope that this short film inspires people to see and appreciate the things they have and the people they meet.
Roles
There are currently 2 paid roles open for the film, with one role being for a main character, Sera, and the other being the Emergency Announcer for the emergency message. There will also be background characters roles for miscellaneous dialogue. Please look at the roles for details on each character.
The main character has about ~45 lines, with the Announcer character having 3-4 lines.
Voice Acting Information
The voice acting in this film should be down to earth and as realistic as possible (for lack of a better phrase). Though the characters are 3D models/motion-captured I want to make sure that this film feels set in reality.
The voice lines will be recorded (referencing the script) after filming has been completed.
Microphone
Please have a quality microphone (USB/XLR microphone) with little to no background noise.
General Notes
You must be at least 18 years old to audition.
These roles will require being in a Discord call with the director and assistants. This will make it much more efficient to finish the lines and with the best performance!
Please include your Discord username with your audition. If you have been selected for a role, we will reach out via Discord!
Payment
Payment will be made through PayPal or Venmo, once the lines have been recorded.

Lexi Torres
Sera is the main character of the film. She is a mundane office worker for an average business company and doesn't care about anything but her partner, Mae. Throughout the film, Sera learns to understand that she took a lot around her for granted and begins to see the world in another light, thus appreciating what she had during her lifetime. She has a deeper-toned voice.
The voice actress for this role should be able to contain hidden emotions, similar to the quiet nature of the main character. They should also be able to hold back tears when talking.
These voice lines should maintain a realistic approach.

Note that this role only has a few lines total in the film.
