(Animated) Minecraft Movie 2 Cinematic Project

Project Overview

We are building something that has never been done in Minecraft content before...

A fully cinematic movie series with original characters, anime inspired fight sequences, custom VFX, and a story with real emotional weight and a season long mythology. Not a one off video. A universe.

The Salt channel has built a dedicated audience that shows up for every video, and this movie is the biggest thing we have ever made. Before you read any further, feel free to take a look at our most recent video on the channel (it's not the same that's attached to the projected).

Pay attention to the animated scenes and the comments. That will tell you everything you need to know about what we are building and the audience we have built.

We are looking for voice actors who take their craft seriously and want to be part of something that actually matters to its audience.

If that sounds like you, we want to hear from you :)

Latest Updates

  • New character role added - Frost (Requiem)

We just dropped a brand new casting call for a character we are very excited about.

Frost — also known as Requiem — is one of the most layered villains we have written for this project. Cocky and unshakeable on the surface. Something far darker underneath. He appears in one of the most emotionally charged animated scenes in the entire movie and if you love anime style villain moments this role was made for you.

He requires two completely different energies in one voice. Frost and Requiem are not the same person. The VA who can switch between them and land a 20 second villain (anime style) laugh is going to have one of the most memorable moments in the whole movie.

If that sounds like a challenge you want, go check it out!

  • New character role added: "Willow"

We're adding a brand new character to the Salt universe... Willow.

This is a unique and exciting role with a very specific voice direction. Willow is quiet, mysterious, and deadpan. Think Violet Evergarden's composed and measured delivery meets Wednesday Addams' dry dark humor. Dark things said completely casually. The comedy comes from what she says, never how she says it.

This role has potential to be long term and paid as the channel continues to grow. If you're the right fit we're looking for someone to grow with us.

Audition lines are attached. We look forward to hearing your submissions.

Frost is cocky, prideful, and completely convinced he is the best player in any room he walks into. He doesn't need to be loud about it — he just knows. The confidence is effortless not aggressive. Think Bakugo's unshakeable belief in himself but relaxed and casual about it. Frost doesn't get angry. He just wins and expects to.

Important: Frost should sound like a normal guy who happens to be untouchable. Medium to higher voice range. Casual. Almost friendly. The power comes from how little he has to try — not from sounding dark or menacing. If your instinct is to go deep and villainous go the opposite direction.

When Frost puts on the Rainbow mask he becomes Requiem. Different voice, different energy, different person. Where Frost is casual and confident, Requiem is something darker — someone who genuinely enjoys what he does and has been waiting a long time for the chance to do it again. The mask is the transformation. Two completely different characters living in the same body.

This is an unpaid role however your work will be seen by hundreds of thousands of viewers making it a strong portfolio piece. Strong performance could lead to a recurring role throughout the series.

Line 1 — Frost "You know what's cool about Frost? It comes and goes in the blink of an eye." Pure Frost. Cocky, unbothered, completely certain. No aggression — just unshakeable confidence.

Line 2 — Requiem "Direct orders. Kill you, Red, and then Yellow. And the best part? I get to be Requiem while doing it." Requiem speaking for the first time. Darker and quieter than Frost. Something genuinely enjoying itself underneath the words.

Line 3 — Requiem + The Laugh "To think you spent YEARS of your life following his orders like a good little dog chasing whatever bone he threw at you. The funniest part? You never even noticed the leash."

Immediately after the last word deliver a full anime style laugh. No pause, it flows directly out of the line. The laugh should be a minimum of 20 seconds. Make it your own.

Character: Willow Supporting cast member in the Salt Universe. Willow is a mysterious, dark aesthetic girl who speaks rarely but always leaves an impression when she does.

Voice description:

  • Calm, flat, and monotone delivery — not robotic, but consistently even

  • Soft and slightly low for a female voice — not deep, just unhurried and quiet

  • Zero vocal spikes — she doesn't get excited, scared, or flustered audibly

  • The humor comes entirely from what she says, never how she says it

  • When she delivers dark or unsettling lines it should feel completely casual — like she's commenting on the weather

  • Subtle and understated — less is more with every take

Think Violet Evergarden meets Wednesday Addams, with Nico Robin's energy — composed, measured, and completely unbothered. Dark things said casually like perfectly normal observations. The comedy comes from what she says, never how she says it. Underneath the flatness there's a genuine warmth she rarely shows.

Sample lines to audition with:

Line 1 — Default/Casual: "The loot box will open when it wants to. Begging will only anger it. (pause) I’ve seen it crush someone in half before."

Line 2 — Dark/Unsettling delivered flatly: "Oh, that noise? That's probably nothing. The last three people who heard it are gone now though."

Line 3 — Rare moment of warmth, still monotone: "I don't say this often. Actually I've never said it. But... I'm glad you're here."

The Founder

The Founder is the main villain and final boss of the film. He is never cruel, never angry, never loud. Calm, composed, and genuinely warm in a way that makes people feel chosen rather than threatened. His most dangerous moments are his most silent ones.

But underneath the composure lives something much heavier. One moment in the film that crack shows. That moment is the most important thing this character does.

Think Aizen from Bleach meets Zeke from Attack on Titan. Aizen's composure and presence, the warmth that unsettles you, treating the hero as genuinely fascinating rather than threatening. Zeke's genuine belief that what he is doing is necessary and the quiet grief of someone who made a terrible choice a long time ago and never stopped paying for it.

AUDITION LINES

Line 1 "I did not build this tower to trap anyone. I built it because people are happiest when they have something to chase." Calm, warm, completely certain. He believes every word.

Line 2 "You are not the first to stand where you are standing. Every single one of them made the right choice in the end." Quieter. Colder underneath. Genuinely curious.

Line 3 "I named myself after the last light before darkness. I always believed I was the light." The one crack. Grief breaking through. Almost inaudible.

Mia is the most fun character in the movie to voice. She knows everything about everyone and has zero filter about sharing it. Warm, loud, effortlessly charismatic, she walks into every scene and immediately makes it more interesting. She is the kind of person who says exactly what everyone else is thinking and then disappears before anyone can respond.

She is not mean. She is not a villain. She is simply someone who finds people fascinating and has never once considered keeping that to herself.

Think the most entertaining person in your friend group. The one who everyone pretends to be annoyed by but secretly loves. That is Mia.

This is an unpaid role however your work will be seen by hundreds of thousands of viewers making it a strong portfolio piece.

Line 1 "Another new player getting scammed by Ace and his Diamond Dawgs. When's the last time you saw someone give away keys and genuinely not care?"

Observational, slightly gossipy, genuinely curious. Like someone commentating a nature documentary about their own friend group.

Line 2 "I was gonna say that... Honey's got a big cru-- aving. She's got a big craving for justice! Yep. Very passionate about justice on the Diamond floor. That's Honey for ya!"

Full commitment to the cover story while absolutely not selling it. The fumble should sound genuine not performed. The more confidently wrong she sounds the funnier it lands.

Line 3 "PEPPER OPENED UP A GLITCHED ITEM. IT WAS HIS LAST LOOT BOX AND HE — someone like him wouldn't last a day down there. Salt you gotta do something."

Starts panicked and loud then drops into something genuinely warm at "someone like him." She actually cares. The shift from chaos to sincerity in one breath is what makes this line the range test.

About The Project

This role is part of a fully cinematic Minecraft movie on the Salt YouTube channel, a channel with hundreds of thousands of views per video and a passionate dedicated audience. The majority of the film is shot in a live action Minecraft roleplay style, however this character's scenes are fully cinematic and anime inspired, featuring custom VFX and animated sequences.

About The Character

Rift is the living manifestation of an ancient mysterious entity that exists only for the main character. He is loud, intense, and aggressively loyal, calling the main character his brother from the moment they meet and meaning it completely. He does not doubt. He does not hesitate. He believes in the main character more than the main character believes in himself.

However underneath the intensity lives something much older and quieter. In rare moments Rift drops the warmth entirely and speaks with a cold measured calm that suggests he has existed far longer than anyone realizes.

Think Aoi Todo from Jujutsu Kaisen as the primary energy, with occasional flashes of something closer to Zangetsu from Bleach.

This role starts small in Episode 1 and grows significantly across the full movie.

AUDITION LINES

Line 1 "Call my name brother!" Warm, intense. Todo energy.

Line 2 "MY BROTHER!!!" This is the moment Salt says Rift's name for the first time. Pure joy and pride. Like someone who has been waiting a long time to hear that and it means everything. Loud, warm, explosive Todo energy.

Line 3 "A rift is a crack between two things. That's what I am. The crack in their system that they couldn't close." The Zangetsu moment. Cold, still, measured. Should feel like a completely different side of the character.

Line 4 "THIS IS WHERE IT ENDS! BROTHER, NOW!" Full commitment scream. Final battle energy. Raw, explosive, everything on the line.

Note: If possible please submit each line twice, once clean and once with a glitch or distortion effect on your voice. Clean submissions are perfectly fine if the effect is not available to you.

Role assigned to: Nohjx of None

Ace is the self appointed top dog of the Diamond floor. He is confident, loud, and completely unbothered by anyone who disagrees with that assessment. He is not a villain, he is just a guy who decided the rules work differently for him and has never been corrected hard enough to think otherwise.

He is genuinely funny without trying to be. The kind of character viewers love to hate and hate to love.

Think the most confident person in the room who has absolutely no reason to be that confident. That is Ace.

This is an unpaid role however your work will be seen by hundreds of thousands of viewers.

Line 1 "On the Diamond floor you'll have to give us a payment of 1 diamond key each time you wanna use a loot box station." Completely casual. Like this is the most reasonable thing anyone has ever said. No guilt, no hesitation, total confidence.

Line 2 "I have a heart. Since you seem like a decent guy I'll only charge you 3 diamond keys." Generous. Genuinely believes he is doing the person a favor. The audacity should feel completely natural not performed.

Line 3 "Do you really need to protect every new player Honey? What are you, their mom?" Light teasing, not mean. The kind of thing someone says when they think they're being charming. Slight smirk in the voice.
